“Pretty cool selection with wildly varying prices. Some things will cost less than you expect and some will cost far more than you could afford. Quite confusing honestly but in general really nice selection for people from home owners to someone looking to furnish an apartment. Also has a large reclaimed lumber section with old growth etc. Prices vary again but pretty massive selection. If you have cash to spend on interesting finds, really cool place with decent parking”
“Im posting this review to tell everyone how naca has helped me so far. Im only on step 2 but my counselor Ms. Romelle Clinton has been very patient with me, with getting all my paperwork in, and answering all my questions to make it understandable, so the process will be easy for me”
“Great place for children of all ages, with changing exhibits and activities and plenty to occupy a kid for hours. Definitely a worthwhile membership if you go even twice in a year.”
“They gave me space, tools, and materials and walked me through the repair. They caught an issue with my aluminum fork and offered a carbon fiber fork for very little. Baltimore needs more places like them.
Highly recommend.”
“This is a great place of encouragement and discovery...its tucked away in our south-west Baltimore, a home away from home. G.e.d and tutors, yoga, acupuncture, health and fitness, Art, and enlightenment. Best of all, the staff are family oriented❤️”
“Loads of variety and healthy stock. All native plants. Well organized. Knowledgeable staff and friendly volunteers. All profits support Blue Water Baltimore, a local environmental advocacy organization.”
“What a beautiful place!
From the kind person who greeted me when I walked in the door to all the staff who was friendly and attentive, it was incredible to be able to take a tour and see all of the services that city of refuge offers neighbors.”
“Sign up for your family and get free books! We got here about once a month and come home with about 15 books per child. Well-managed and organized. You can donate books here, and that will give you a receipt. Some of the more valuable they will sell on Amazon.”
“Great place as a nonprofit when you need tools for reduce rental rate and everything is by appointment that can be inconvenient, but staff us helpful and friendly”
“It was a very cool music and arts night. Local artists came together and put on a show in hip hop and visual arts and merchandise. The room was set the stage was lit the drinks were flowing and the artists were performing. Highly recommended if your into music hip hop pop and overall good energy and a great vibe after dark ????”
“New building is an almost exact replica of Lubavitch World Headquarters at 770 Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn, NY. This is, if I’m not mistaken, the 33rd replica of 770 to be built.”
“Great fellowship. Super friendly. Excellent opportunities to work with others to help improve the world. Wonderful charitable works. Great food. I love the Orient of Maryland and the Valley of Baltimore.”
“Several friends recommended HLCDC to us and I'm so glad they did. My daughter completed pre-K this year and learned so much, both academically and socially. Her teachers were engaged, kind, and really invested in the kids. The hours were also helpful for us as working parents.”
“If the outside is this amazing and awesome, the inside must be even more amazing!!!! We strolled Mt. Washington and walked by Baltimore Clayworks. We are a family that loves to do pottery. We will be back to take a class!!!”
“On my last delivery I recieved some items for Thanksgiving and it included frozen mac n cheese well let me say it was great very cheesy and creamy. It tasted great. I hope to recieve more in the future.”
“This program helped me take care of my father who had specific needs due to his diabetes. He was impressed with the personal care he was given with each delivery. The meals were always fresh and they mixed them up enough that they feel like the same old thing.”
“Stopped by today: sign on door that says temporary closed until 5/27/25. Moving to 701 Wyman Park Dr, which is nearby. Hope this helps others figure out why no one answers the phone.”
“Loved the fitness class series in the summer/fall right on the lawns of Inner Harbor!
They used to have an insensystem where you earn items like a water bottle, or a yoga mat, based on your attendance. But times are different now perhaps. Nevertheless, it was a very enjoyable experience whether you take their boot camp classes during the week or serene yoga classes on early Sunday mornings.”

“I bought a toilet (brand new) for $25 and a refrigerator for about $300. Appliances these days don't last like they used to and I'm always happy to buy replacements second hand whenever possible. I like that they are willing to take returns if you get it home and it doesn't work.”
“Center for Urban Families is a place that embraces you like Family as soon as you walk into the door. The resources inside those walls are life changing. It will take consistency, effort, and determination by the individual to fully take advantage of all the benefits of the Center. They will definitely help you become the best person you can be. I love CFUF.”
“This place is helping my children’s father in a miraculous way. My adult children are now proud of their father, He has been staying in the Hum. It’s about 6 months now and he has made a huge recovery. Thank you HUM and I’m forever grateful to God! Hallelujah ??”
“Honestly, I think this program saved my life. In 2023, I was in a deep depress. It seemed like all that could go wrong in my life, did. I had recently began experiencing terrible back pain around age 23, which was devastating. I lost my job. I felt alone. I didn’t have any motivation, drive, or interest to live. My home life was really unhappy and my past trauma was weighing me down. I felt like my outpatient program providers were failing me.
When I saw TALMAR on TikTok, it really stood out to me, which was rare. Nothing else could really do that at the time, so this is saying something. I reached out. I would work with an occupational therapist during my visits. The OT would find accommodations for me with my back pain which really made me feel seen. There was a sensory garden that I could help water. It was beautiful, my favorite plant there was lamb’s ear Sage. Also, I got to try growing plants at home (cherry tomatoes, big boy tomatoes, and celosia) and it really gave me pride and confidence. Meanwhile, when I visited, I would help water and care for plants like strawberries (the best ones I’ve ever tasted) and kale (which is now a food I love to make and eat). It was so nice to feel like I was in my own body again. It was so nice to be outside and appreciate the beautiful nature around me. It was healing to feel like part of something. And I felt some accountability and like the plants depended on me. Seeing the chickens brought me joy. This was a really positive experience for me that got me out of a really dark time. I would recommend this to everyone. Even if someone is generally okay but just needed to get out of the house, or to feel like they have accomplished a meaningful task.”
“Nice place. Started over in Baltimore from scratch and they allowing me to get mail until I get back working ,Thanks for that. Thank God there not with whoever stole my i.d. from mailbox. Gotta use address on applications hopefully it's works out for us. I see it's hard because they give out so much helping people with housing food stamps and who knows what else. I just wanna get a job so I can thank the people for letting me use the address and will change it once moved.”

“New Song is such a wonderful school with great teachers and staff. My kids transfered here from Monarch Academy when it closed a few years ago; and my kids immediately loved the teachers and the atmosphere. Principal Fireside is awesome and genuinely cares about his students and staff. I love it!”
“Cheder Chabad is a wonderful and warm school all the way from preschool through their elementary school. I have been able to know them both professionally from providing Speech and occupational therapy services to children in the school and personally from my own children and would highly recommend them. The Rebbe's and Morahs are warm, collaborative, and caring and have been wonderful to work with on all accounts.”
“Great idea well executed! This place is awesome for artists, makers, and crafters. If you paint, sew, draw, knit--create in some form--you can find good, used materials and tools to help you either get started or keep going. Lots of stock and great prices. Friendly, professional staff to assist. Definitely fun to visit... especially if you like to hunt for and snag cool things or useful items.”
