“Stopped in to see what was on display and ended up having a wonderful conversation with the owner Dilip. He is an artist himself, plays guitar, and represents artists from all over. He told me all about his most recent sourcing trip to Columbia and more. It was a delightful experience and wonderful gallery. I will absolutely be back!”
“My wife and I have been to Art Museums all over the world. The British National Gallery, the Louvre, d'Orsey, the MET, among others and this is, honestly the best. The collection is well curated, the staff is wonderful, it wasn't crowded, the building itself was beautiful inside and out. Best of all, the staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and the layout was intuitive.”
“Got work done by Alex and couldn't be happier! Incredible work and he has an INCREDIBLY LIGHT TOUCH! Sat for two 6 hour sessions and felt fine after both. Shading and linework is flawless. If you're looking top tier work, you can't do better than this!”
“If you live in D.C. long enough, you'll run into Marcella Kriebel's masterful work at markets, but this location is her permanent studio along the Brookland Arts Walk. It's open Fridays and Saturdays and always worth a stop in to buy cards, watercolors, and more.”
“I needed a framing job done last-minute for an event at the White House., and this shop absolutely delivered. The owner was incredibly kind, accommodating, and went above and beyond to get everything done quickly. The finished artwork looked amazing. Highly recommend!!”
“Fabulous work on 3 pieces of art I purchased on vacation. Each was perfectly matted with complementary colors and museum-quality glass. Pricing is very fair for the quality of work you receive. I will definitely be back in the future, this will be the only place I go for framing. FYI Location is very close to JCPenny, the map shows a different location in the mall.”
“I am an artist with almost a decade of experience showing my work publicly in galleries and have participated in 20 group and solo exhibitions and have been impressed by Latela's team professionalism and high quality work. Between April 2022 and July 2022 Latela Curatorial hosted an exhibition of my work in the Silva Gallery and from art selection and curation to the art hanging, from the exhibition materials to the wonderful opening reception everything was professionally done, beautiful and successful. Marta, the owner, is a wealth of knowledge of the art scene so she also puts together great group shows annually and is a great connector of artists, curators, collectors and clients. I would strongly recommend Latela Curatorial to artists, collectors and real estate clients in the Washington, DC region and beyond!”
“Every event I attend at Montpelier has been fantastic whether it's an art exhibit or jazz venue. Everything is arranged & performed professionally. Food at public their art openings are delicious ?”
“I have been getting my Artwork custom framed at Artistic Custom Framing in Wheaton for the past 40 years. I have always dealt directly with the owner Hassan, who is the absolute best in assisting you with selecting the best custom mats and frames for each individual piece of artwork. His prices have been the absolute best in the entire DMV for the past 40 years. I know. Several years ago, I walked in and personally met a local abstract artist at Artistic Custom Framing, who is nationally acclaimed. I don't want to mention his name without his permission. He was getting a number of pieces of his artwork framed by Hassan. I happened to have one of his art pieces in my collection. Needless to say, that tells you a lot about Artistic Custom Framing and Hassan. They also have some great artwork on display for sale. I just hope that Artistic Custom Framing is around for another 40 years.”
“I'm a newbie at stained glass, so when I had to finish up a piece I started at an intro class, I was lucky enough to find this place! I booked studio time and the generous staff helped me throughout. I really liked the atmosphere and the large selection of supplies they had. I didn't buy glass or take their classes, but I think I will in the future!”
“Historical building, friendly and knowledgeable staff, had a free art exhibit upstairs that was a wonderful experience. Picked up some lovely prints. If we were local I would sign up for one of their printing classes.”

“This is an absolutely gorgeous space to see the work of talented local artists. There are often 2 exhibits at a time and during the opening receptions the artists mingle amongst the guests to talk about their work and the creative process. There is also a lively shop where you can purchase unique pieces from featured and past exhibitors.”
“We came here for my wife's birthday to buy her a full yukata. We had been there 4 years prior purchasing some small earthwares that were gorgeous. Everything inside was so beautiful and you can tell the craftsman and store owner took pride in their art. She was also amazing with my wife helping her pick out the perfect yukata showcasing the perfect customer service you see in Japan. We HIGHLY recommend Tokiya Japan and are loyal customers.”
“I have worked with Susan for many years. I am always thrilled with her help on framing and have loved all the wonderful pieces of art I have purchased through the years. Susan is a real gem!”
“2.09.2026: Today, I actually took the leap and covered this beautiful and historic space. I was somewhat surprised to find that it's a functional building on the ground floor. On the 2nd and 3rd floors are high ceilinged rooms that exhibits art from the local practitioners of the arts. There were hardly any people there, and, I had the place mostly to myself.... always a good thing.
The highlight of the visit was the awesome wrought iron gate that surrounds Hill Center. I'm a sucker for black metal...and even more so for ancient black metal. Let alone that the design of the gate was worth it's place in a Hollywood movie.
The gate did it for me.”
“This is such a cool space hiding under Dupont Circle! Came here for the Common Ground / Common Future exhibit where a bunch of local photographers had works on display. I look forward to seeing more shows here! Worth it just to drop in a see the street art around the perimeter.”

“I love toolbox Pilates!!! I’ve taken 4 beginner reformer classes now and it’s so much fun and a good challenge. I wish the instructors were doing to exercises along side you, but they’re very good at cueing. The space is just absolutely gorgeous. Love it!!”
“I really like the emerging 14th Street and U Street art scenes. I often find myself leaving work and visiting Irvine and Plan B on 14th Street, then walking over to Hamilton and Project 4 on U Street. These private galleries each have their own look, but their feel, well they each make you feel accepted. I like Hamiltonian, for example, because it's staff understands that some visitors only want to appreciate the art for the art. Honestly, I can't tell you about any art movement or modern artists or even notable works. But I can tell you what I find visually appealing, and the guys at Hamiltonian get that.”
“Along Route One in Brentwood is one of many art centers in PG County. You can't miss this one! With a small parking lot there's public art outside of the brick building. Open Monday-Saturday starting at 10am is a gift shop and art gallery with rotating exhibits. They also host events like an annual holiday market with local artisans and makers.”
“Whether to dip your toes into art world or an art collecting veteran, Adah Rose gallery has it all. This is by far the strongest and most versatile artwork in the DMV. Artists continue to get rave reviews from the Washington Post and local publications alike. The owner is so welcoming and truly has a passion for creators and the work. I cannot say enough about the delightful encounters and artwork I get to experience when I step into the gallery.”
“Attended a celebration for this artist's book compiled as a series of zines. Gallery lovely with wide open space to view art by Sam Gilliam and other notables on their walls.”
“3 story free art museum. Your experience might vary based on the current exhibits but the current OSGEMEOS exhibit was a treat. Tickets aren't required but they do help the museum crowd plan if you sign up on their website.”
“Such a great vibe! Excellent service and skilled artists. Working with Blake and Sean was nothing short of amazing ! Sean provided clear and sound advice to my little sister and Blake was able to craft and deliver exactly what I wanted . Thank you !!”
