Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists
10000 Old Columbia Rd Suite E, ColumbiaCVSS operated on our 13 yr old male cat, Potter. His right anal gland burst and abscessed twice during Covid-19. The second time was while waiting for an appointment with CVSS, but they were operating in a limited capacity. This was emergent, so it was allowed.Dr. Keats performed the surgery and he was excellent. Having over 20 yrs of soft tissue surgical experience, he kept us informed before and after surgery as we were not allowed in with him. When he called with the results of the biopsy, it was a terminal diagnosis, but he did it with such care and concern. He never said the words cancer or terminal. Turns out, this is a very rare cancer in cats that chemo and radiation can't treat.Together, we came up with a treatment plan of him seeing Potter bimonthly to determine regrowth and put him on kidney food bc Dr. Keats noticed year over year blood results that my normal vet didn't. There are only so many surgeries they can do as the nerves in that area tell a cat when they need to hit the litter box. They are very responsive to email and phone calls. You definitely get what you paid for. Guardians always want the best for their animal, and CVSS is definitely the best.

10328 Owen Brown Rd, ColumbiaThis is based on our first and only visit so far. Our greyhound was seen right on time with no wait. All staff were very friendly and welcoming to me and my dog. Though the establishment is small and local, they have a modern payment system and an online portal to track our pets medical history.

VCA Columbia Animal Hospital at Centre Park
8895 Centre Park Dr Suite AB, ColumbiaI love this place. They have now seen 2 of our 3 fur babies and have basically become our primary vet whenever the VTF at Andrews AFB is booked, which is often. They will soon be seeing our 3rd baby who joined us on Mother’s Day as a gift from my husband and our 2 kids. I was referred to that after another dog had bit our 13yr old dog in the face and literally ripped half her lip off and left it hanging. After going to the emergency near our house, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to get into Andrews VTF and our friends recommended this specific VCA location. They were able to get us in for the follow up appointment and suture removal, send me text messages to remind and confirm our vet appointments and then a couple days after the appointments they follow up to see how our fur baby is doing. I couldn’t be happier and so glad that I was recommended to the location. The staff is great and tolerated my 3yr old son who didn’t want to leave and wouldn’t stop following the tech around. I am truly thankful for the staff here and will continue have my furbabies cared for at this location.

My 12 yr old (at the time, 13 now) dog had multiple difficult to remove teeth removed and they did a wonderful job. Service was wonderful! They are forward thinking for your pet. What you have done is in the thought of the future for your pet. They are true specialists! Cannot recommend any higher. I am on Google and please feel free to contact me if you want more details. Kanakry Anthony DVM
10665 MD-108, ColumbiaDr. Kanakry is the best. He treated my dogs and cats. I had a rottie, Ceaser, that was diagnosed with bone cancer. Dr. Kanakry went above and beyond. Not only did he refer us to VOSM for surgery to remove the leg bone, but he also visited VOSM on his day off to check on Ceaser and the prognosis. Never once did I take any of 4 legged kids to him and feel that they weren't in the best hands. I appreciated his time during the visit, and the calls after to check on how my babies were feeling. I would be remiss if I didn't also mention Dr. Watts and Linda (tech). I moved an hour away and haven't found a better vet yet.

Pet Sitting & Training
Club Pooch
9147 Red Branch Rd # G, ColumbiaJust dropped off my dog for an evaluation for the doggy daycare and the team did an amazing job reassuring me that everything would be okay! They even met me outside and took my dog inside for me as I spoke with someone else about how the day goes and giving me a tour. They answered all my questions before I signed the paperwork and still reassured me throughout the process how skill ed their employees are to care for the dogs, including how to read the body language of the dogs before anything bad could happen. So I’ve been told, the worst thing that could happen, is a few scratches from typical playing. Their intake process went very smooth and professional. It definitely made me feel comfortable leaving my dog there without me (mind you, my dog is my 1st dog and he’s only 9 months old right now).

Pups Dog Obedience Training
9050 Red Branch Rd, ColumbiaMy dogs and I absolutely love PUPS training. Karen and Krystin and Val teach your dog to think. There is no food reward. A prong collar is used. Your dog’s confidence soars because your dog figures things out. The dogs love it and respond so very positively to it. When I train at home, all the dogs want to join the fun. And, they remember every detail even years later, because it all makes sense to them and was presented in a fun and logical way. Yes, there are corrections that you and your dog learn. It’s all real and fair and your dog has respect for the process. Karen has taught me a great deal about observing dogs and reading their language. I use PUPS basics every day in my work as veterinarian, and I certainly utilize them every single day at home. Thank you !

Mango Grove
8865 Stanford Blvd UNIT 107, ColumbiaMy friends and I decided to go here for a girls night out. We had never been before and didn't know what to expect. On the outside, it looks much smaller than it actually is. It has a surprisingly large and beautiful interior. The ambience of the place was very calm and elegant. There was only two other customers at the time we went so it was very quiet. I think because of that, the service was incredible. The server we had made sure we were fully taken care of and even cracked some jokes to keep the mood light. It was a lot of fun. The food was prepared efficiently and tasted phenomenal. One of my friends is a picky eater and even she loved the food. I was even able to get a vegan meal that was very filling and delightful. The parking is free and ample. You will not have to worry about finding a spot. I will say though, if you go at a busier time and day, you might have to park a bit farther out but it's really not the long of a walk, especially on a good sunny day. I would love to go back either by myself or with friends and family.
