“I love Aldi’s ! I especially love the ones far out Va or Maryland because it’s fresher and cheaper in my opinion. The ones in dc are a bit ran through, also the ones in other parts of Maryland, so i suggest you really read reviews and check stars”

“I highly recommend Hoover-Fisher Florist. After trying various options in the Kensington area, from grocery stores to other florists, Hoover-Fisher remains my top choice. Their flowers are always beautifully arranged and have impressive longevity. Additionally, their prices are quite competitive compared to others in the area.”

“Very good small supermarket, with fresh produce and lots of Latin American products. The papaya there was the best I’ve ever had in DC. Let’s support these small stores that make DC streets more interesting!”

“Nice farmers market with the usual vendors as other markets in the area. Contained on blocked off side street and small adjacent parking lot. A few nearby tables and benches to eat any made to order breakfast sandwiches, dumplings or your morning piece of fruit!”

“I think this is the only place in US where you can get out with basic groceries in hand (milk, bread, some veggies) with bill under 10$. I appreciate the Aldi store chain for that. ?

And, they have pretty much everything you need for daily use.

On the otherhand, I dont mind paying 25 cents for cart but who keeps the coins with them in this mostly cashless Economy.”

“Prices are great.
The fresh produce is excellent.
Lots if cheese options.
Could have better brands of cottage cheese.

The parking (getting in and out) is a challenge.”

“Was staying at a nearby hotel, and thank goodness that we found this place! Good selection, good prices, good service - saved us more than once in this expensive area of DC !”

“Best Aldi around...always well stocked. The downside was the long wait time. The new self checkout lanes have alleviated that but you can only pay with card on those lanes.”

“Owl's Nest Farm has been my CSA for seven years, and I recommend them to anyone in the DC area who is looking for lush produce, a customizable vegetable share, and a business that truly supports their workers and the environment. I am consistently impressed with the quality and quantity of vegetables we get each week in our share--greens galore in the spring, a veritable bounty of tomatoes, peppers, squash, and more in the summer, and fall brings the best of spring and summer plus winter squashes and root vegetables. Picking up our share is always a highlight of my week because I get to talk with the farm team about what's going on at the farm and rave about all the fun meals I've eaten with their veggies. Plus, they offer several different add-ons (eggs, meat, fruit, a solidarity add-on highlighting local producers/makers) so you can enhance your share if you choose.A big part of the reason I choose a CSA is not only for the fresh vegetables, but also to get to know the farmers and their relationship with the land. I am so proud that as of 2024, Owl's Nest is a worker-owned cooperative. I love knowing that I'm supporting a worker-owned business who treats their workers with dignity and respect, as well as treating the land with dignity and respect through their environmental practices.Of all the CSAs I've tried in the DMV, Owl's Nest is my favorite and the one I'm sticking with!”

“A very convenient neighborhood grocery store. The selection of foods is pretty decent considering the size of the store. Workers are always friendly & helpful. Only the relatively high prices gives me pause sometimes.”

“I had an excellent customer service experience with Terron. After waiting in a long line, he greeted me with a smile and was overall very pleasant. Because of this, I felt comfortable enough to ask him about an item which was not stocked on the shelf and which was the primary reason for my visit. He told me he knows it is in stock and if I would like for him to grab it for me. Needless to say, I was taken aback by this above and beyond offer and quickly agreed only if it would not create trouble for him. He finished ringing up my items, disappeared for all of 30 seconds and was back with options of the requested item for me to choose from. The customer behind me wanted the item, too, and was happy to get one as well.

Hire more people like Terron. He is exemplary!”

“I love this store. The staff are very efficient and friendly. It also has self checkout so even if the line is long the wait isn’t. The prices are also considerably less than the big name stores.”

“live close to the Giant store and have been shopping there for more than 30 years. I live in Maryland. Lately, the prices are out of control, but the worst thing is the rudeness and lack of care from the young employees in this store. They look annoyed and tired, and they seem bothered if you ask any questions.
The only nice people there are in the bakery department. There is also a kind Asian lady at customer service and a Somalian lady. The rest of the store employees seem like they hate their jobs.
Now I drive 20 minutes to Aldi, and everyone there is helpful and friendly. Maybe Giant management should send their employees there for training so they can learn how to be polite and helpful. Maybe they are unhappy, or maybe they are not treated well by the company.”

“Clean, always packed with food. Breakfast frozen items seem to sell out fast!! Lines can be long at times, seems only one person wants to work the register, when there are like 4. Always fast to get in and get out. Security guard on premise.”

Additionally the pork skewer and spring rolls were to die for. The service was very friendly and kind I will definitely be back to this hidden gem! Thank you ?”

“Nice small grocer with a deli counter for sandwiches and other hot meals. A bit pricey, as would be expected for a corner market, but overall a great convenience for the neighborhood with nice produce and a good selection of products.”

“Good store with decent stock. I was disappointed to see only two cashiers working and lines past the midline of the store. Probably a good idea to get more cashiers on registers when it’s that busy. Otherwise excellent. Cashier that I finally made it to was very friendly and efficient.”

“I believe the store offers about everything you would need in a typical Indian grocery store. The only thing I would say is it's missing a special section where you could get freshly cooked food, fresh Indian roti or naan, and some fresh Indian desserts.”

3.6 Good110 Reviews

“Great prices, OK selection but not a fan of the long line to pay. There's no self service option. No express lane. I ALWAYS find it nearly impossible to get a cart after inserting my quarter. They are stuck together, very hard to separate. I end up looking sadly at people coming out who will trade their cart for a quarter.”

“Aldi's offers a variety of grocery items. I like trying the items not available at traditional groceries. Especially good prices on bagged spinach, Kiefer, orange juice and plant based milk.
Always fun to explore the isle of non food items.”
