“My husband and I recently moved from DC to Maryland, and were looking for movers after having had a bad experience in the past. I found glowing reviews of Bookstore Movers online, and I am here to confirm that those glowing reviews are completely true! I will break down my experience in the rest of this review, but bottom line is that I will recommend them to anyone who asks, and if I need to move again they are the first place I will be going!

Inquiry and Organization - their website was very well organized, and had a logical and thorough process for requesting a quote. I got a quote immediately, and was able to move forward with booking a date very quickly. Their email correspondence across the board was prompt, thorough, and clear. We were given clear guidelines for how we should prepare and what we should expect, and proactively provided with information on who was coming and how to contact them. In particular I was VERY impressed that on the day of our pack and on the day of our move we were contacted proactively to let us know that they would be running late due to unexpected delays. It was a huge weight off my shoulders that I never had to chase anyone down for information, it was freely given or even proactively offered.

Customer Service - I want to take a moment to commend also that they clearly care about the customer experience and customer satisfaction. Their pricing is very transparent, and they applied a discount that I qualified for without me needing to ask! Additionally, due to running late on our move date, they called an additional mover to help with no additional cost, again without me needing to ask. I was very impressed at the pride that everyone clearly took in their work, something I find is harder and harder to find these days.

Pack and Move - We requested both a pack and a move. Everything was packed very well, and the move was completed efficiently and carefully. I’ve waited until we fully unpacked so that I can say with complete confidence that absolutely nothing was broken, which speaks to the quality work of both teams that helped us! Our moving team was extremely kind and made sure everything was set up the way we wanted in our new home. I cannot say enough good things - it is clear that they have experience and skill!

Recommendation for others - like above, I recommend Bookstore Movers without reservation. What I will say is that for anyone placing an inquiry, I would recommend actually having an accurate accounting of how much stuff you have! Pictures might be a good idea. I didn’t give a great estimate, which meant the original total quoted wasn’t accurate. That was fully my mistake, and I hope others can avoid it!

“My mother recently passed away and had a storage unit at this location. Unfortunately, her rent was not set to autopay, and by the time our family learned of it, the account was past due and the contents were scheduled for auction this morning at 10 a.m.

This could have been a devastating day for our family—if not for the compassion and quick action of the location manager, Chelle. She arranged to meet me at 9:30 a.m., as soon as the office opened, to take my payment and stop the auction—just 15 minutes before it was set to begin.

Chelle immediately set aside everything she was doing to give me a tour of the facility and personally walk me to my mother’s unit. She also understood enough about life, loss, and empathy to stay with me while I opened the door. Seeing my childhood bed and our family’s Christmas ornaments, I was grateful she was there.

Over the years, I’ve used storage units for various reasons, but I never truly appreciated how much storage managers see and the difficult decisions they sometimes face. Chelle is not only a great manager—she is a great human being. She went above and beyond for a Public Storage customer, showing kindness and humanity in a moment when it mattered most.

“I order the top of the line RF 16' POD. It was to be delivered yesterday, but the wooden, local-type POD is what the driver, Anthony, was to deliver. Not his fault. This POD was what he was given to deliver. I explained what I ordered, and that I was refusing this POD. I wanted the top of the line for my stuff headed to Florida, not across town. He completely understood and stated he would return after lunch with the correct POD. Anthony was there about 4pm with the correct POD. He dropped it right where I wanted it. His professionalism was first-rate, and he is exactly the kind of guy you want out there dealing with customers. Thank you, Anthony, for your help yesterday.”

“My experience with this particular U-Haul location, is that I was treated like they value my patronage, they value me as a customer.
I rented a small size box truck to move my personal property to a new place, it was explained to me by the nice and friendly clerk the policy when I return the truck back during after hours but I forgot to use the app system to return the truck doing after hours. Because I forgot the system penalized me $23 dollars, when I explained the situation to Henry who is the manager the following morning, he credited me back the $23. To me that is CUSTOMER SERVICE.”

“I used Integrated Moving while moving from Silver Spring to Richmond VA. The entire team did a great job. They store my items for some time for free as I needed time to settle out everything. When the goods were delivered to my new house there was no damage, and everything was intact. This move exceeded all my expectations. Highly recommend.”
