“I decided to book this at last minute for something that I needed to take care of in Virginia. It worked out well in the end. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and guided me to New Carrollton instead of the closer Largo station to speed up my trip. The room was completely acceptable. The bed was a bit hard, but that's okay. Overall, it's a pretty good place if you need something easy, it's not too expensive, it's just right, and the area is perfect. The housekeeping staff does an excellent job keeping the rooms clean and I did notice active signs of a renovation occurring.”

“World classrooms messed up and my son didnt have anywhere to sleep. He is 15. I am in Michigan and this was a school trip. Muhammad and Yamas were exceptional and brought my baby a rollaway bed. I am so grateful for these amazing employees. They deserve a raise! . It was 3am before he called me. Im so so grateful for these wonderful men being able to get him situated. Thank you guys truely!”

“We came in as a family of 6 for a quick overnight before our main stay in DC and I am sad that we couldn’t stay at this location for the whole trip. Rooms were clean, comfy and cozy. The best part of this location was Angel, the front desk rep. When we checked out, we decided to eat at Denny’s across the street & my wife realized she left her wedding rings in the room. She rushed back to find that the housekeeping staff turned it in right away and Angel had it all sealed up neatly and tight in an envelope waiting for her return. Angel was a delight and a pleasure to speak and work with. This property has a diamond staff member with her. Thanks Angel!”

“This is one of the best hotels I've been to! Our group is on a Tour/Vacation to learn about and visit Washington DC, but we walked a lot. The rooms here were great for resting after being out and about all day. The complimentary breakfast there is great and the rooms are clean and the housekeeping is amazing. If you're going to visit DC, this is the hotel you should stay at. I also added a picture of the view too!”

“Giving 5 stars for lots of reasons, but mostly for Amber, the Assistant Manager. She was so friendly and helpful. I booked through booking.com and had issues with my reservation and she was the one who helped me figure it out. Not only that, she followed up with me throughout the process, I didn’t even have to call her! The rooms were great, very comfortable, the kids loved the pool, and free breakfast is always appreciated. We enjoyed the coffee (decent brew), oatmeal, and waffles. We wish we could stay longer.”

“The rooms are very spacious and clean. The have laminate floors instead of carpet. We have a 2 bedroom so you can sleep 8 if you use the pullout. One bedroom has a king size bed with its own bathroom that has a standard tub/shower combo. The other bedroom has 2 queen size beds with its own bathroom that has a large shower. Kitchen has a service for 4. The only issue is some items have damage such as the refrigerator, cabinets and toilets. Nothing major but they are there. It is clean. You could probably fit a twin air mattress in the room with 2 beds and a full/queen in the kitchen/living room area. Standard hotel breakfast is provided where you check in. Meaning, where you check in is not where your rooms are. Uou need to walk across the pool patio. Not bad when its warmer out. Its the end of February and its about 42 out. Not too bad. Odd that breakfast was done by 9:30. We came back from a store about 9:40 and there was just cereal, juice and coffe still. Most places its until 10. The staff is super friendly. Housekeeping came by to see if we needed more towels. It is convenient to lots of places near the University of Maryland without being in the middle of it. Would recommend this hotel to anyone with families or that need a full kitchen (standard fridge, stove, microwave over stove and dishwasher). FYI - if you are not aware as i was not, there are speed cameras and red light cameras everywhere, especially as you get closer to the University. Where this is seems to be away from that but as you approach, keep that in mind. Everyone here drives SLOW. Deep breaths help.”

“First of all, I was very timid about staying at this hotel location. I read a lot of the reviews and they spooked me pretty good. But, I had to remind myself that most of the time people don’t take time out to post about the good, rather the bad. I’m so glad that I didn’t allow the negative reviews to persuade me not to stay at this hotel. Upon arrival the two ladies at the front desk were very professional, polite, friendly, and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and had lots of places to sit not just on the bed. I read in one post that someone was upset about only having 2 pillows on their bed. We only had 2 pillows as well, however, we asked the ladies at the front desk for 2 extra ones and they sent them directly up to us. One of them even called to ensure that they arrived to us. The only down side to our stay was the thin walls. Some of the other guests were extremely loud. But to be fair, those guests were part of a wedding party. There was a lot of noise but it wasn’t unbearable. Weddings are an exciting time. I also wish that there was a microwave in the room along with the refrigerator. I also didn’t like that you have to pay for parking. That rubbed me the wrong way since it wasn’t advertised on the website. But, I got over it. Also, if you don’t scan the QR Code for parking after checking in you will hold up the exiting process. A few people failed to follow that instruction and it resulted in a disruption to those of us who did the appropriate thing. I’d also recommend including the breakfast buffet option when you’re booking. It was absolutely delicious. The dinning area was very clean and well maintained by the staff. Overall, I’d DEFINITELY recommend this hotel. Don’t allow the bad reviews to hinder you from staying here.”

I understand it's very hot outside so the hotel is conserving energy by keeping the thermostat at 73, but it's not tolerable there is no where for the air to circulate. The maintenance guy told us that from 115 to 815pm is the energy saving time. It's well after 815pm and it's still uncomfortable.”

“This place is a gem! I'm from this area and was slightly apprehensive abt booking here. But, it's improved so much, the area has gone thru an amazing revitalization. That said, from the moment I arrived I noted a very clean environment. A cool gift shop and a well kept pool. It's an older hotel that's been loved on, well kept and updated. Nathanial checked me in, he was awesome! Check in was quick, no surprises. And customer service overall has been good from every employee I encountered. My room was clean, all linens spotless! My fridge and microwave were clean and well kept. I got the breakfast buffet, small price to pay for what you get. They have everything you could want for breakfast. Everything was hot and fresh. There is an omlette station where they make your omelette to order. Everything was really good. Comfy bed, great channel selections. I'm so impressed. I will defintely be back when I come again.”

Great place May 2026; Correction: Lanham has the best Red Roof Inn. The ENTIRE staff have been amazing since I’ve been at their location. I’ve been with them for awhile and they have treated me right. The price is right, location is nice, accessible every way. Off highway, on metro route, walkable food places, even have great security staff to keep the place safe.”

The only complaint at all is the room keys seem to barely function at all. It will take multiple tries and sometimes a trip down to the front desk to get them to finally work. If they fix that one issue id say theyd be a 5 star.”
