“This has been a very pleasant stay. I had to fly in and out of BWI and work at the Navy Yard, and this DoubleTree turned out to be the perfect in-between spot. Just far enough from DC to avoid losing my sanity, and close enough to get everywhere I needed without stress.
Check in was a breeze. Parking was easy every day. And the staff has been consistently polite and welcoming in a way that genuinely made me feel at home. They nailed the hospitality piece.
Room was clean, comfortable, and warm during a snowstorm. The heating and AC worked exactly like they should. Water pressure was fantastic. The bed was comfy, and the TV is big enough that you do not have to squint to watch a movie. It all added up to a solid and restful stay.
The only area that missed the mark was the breakfast buffet. It felt a little basic compared to what I usually expect at a DoubleTree. The sausage patties were overcooked, and the paper plates threw me off since most DoubleTrees offer a menu option and real dishware. Not a trip breaker, but noticeable.
On the positive side, the restaurant in the evenings was delicious, and I will be reviewing that separately.
All things considered, this was an excellent stay. Great location, great staff, great room. I would absolutely return.”

“My husband and I only stayed for one night while we were in town, but we had a great stay nonetheless. Angel was fabulous when she checked us in, and she was incredibly helpful when we had questions about the metro. She even let us borrow umbrellas when it started raining before we walked down the block for dinner. Room was really clean and comfortable, and another shout out to the housekeeping staff who found the toiletry bag we forgot when we checked out-- we were able to return to grab it.”

“World classrooms messed up and my son didnt have anywhere to sleep. He is 15. I am in Michigan and this was a school trip. Muhammad and Yamas were exceptional and brought my baby a rollaway bed. I am so grateful for these amazing employees. They deserve a raise! . It was 3am before he called me. Im so so grateful for these wonderful men being able to get him situated. Thank you guys truely!”

The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. Only down side, which is my personal preference... was the water temperature and shower pressure (because I like my water HOT). But overall the stay was fantastic.”
“Giving 5 stars for lots of reasons, but mostly for Amber, the Assistant Manager. She was so friendly and helpful. I booked through booking.com and had issues with my reservation and she was the one who helped me figure it out. Not only that, she followed up with me throughout the process, I didn’t even have to call her! The rooms were great, very comfortable, the kids loved the pool, and free breakfast is always appreciated. We enjoyed the coffee (decent brew), oatmeal, and waffles. We wish we could stay longer.”

“This is one of the best hotels I've been to! Our group is on a Tour/Vacation to learn about and visit Washington DC, but we walked a lot. The rooms here were great for resting after being out and about all day. The complimentary breakfast there is great and the rooms are clean and the housekeeping is amazing. If you're going to visit DC, this is the hotel you should stay at. I also added a picture of the view too!”

“The rooms are very spacious and clean. The have laminate floors instead of carpet. We have a 2 bedroom so you can sleep 8 if you use the pullout. One bedroom has a king size bed with its own bathroom that has a standard tub/shower combo. The other bedroom has 2 queen size beds with its own bathroom that has a large shower. Kitchen has a service for 4. The only issue is some items have damage such as the refrigerator, cabinets and toilets. Nothing major but they are there. It is clean. You could probably fit a twin air mattress in the room with 2 beds and a full/queen in the kitchen/living room area.
Standard hotel breakfast is provided where you check in. Meaning, where you check in is not where your rooms are. Uou need to walk across the pool patio. Not bad when its warmer out. Its the end of February and its about 42 out. Not too bad. Odd that breakfast was done by 9:30. We came back from a store about 9:40 and there was just cereal, juice and coffe still. Most places its until 10. The staff is super friendly. Housekeeping came by to see if we needed more towels. It is convenient to lots of places near the University of Maryland without being in the middle of it. Would recommend this hotel to anyone with families or that need a full kitchen (standard fridge, stove, microwave over stove and dishwasher).
FYI - if you are not aware as i was not, there are speed cameras and red light cameras everywhere, especially as you get closer to the University. Where this is seems to be away from that but as you approach, keep that in mind. Everyone here drives SLOW. Deep breaths help.”

“mI had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were warm, friendly, and highly professional, making the whole experience smooth and welcoming. The room was clean, comfortable, and bright, which allowed me to rest very well. The hotel also provides a shuttle service between the train station and the hotel, which is extremely convenient. Breakfast is offered daily, and dinner is also available, which is a great bonus for travelers. I was very satisfied with my stay and will definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip to Washington, D.C. Highly recommended!”

“I came here to the Crown Plaza on March 15, 2026. The rooms are beautiful and comfy. The staff here is really friendly and professional. The only flip side when making a third party reservation is, you have to put a $100.00 deposit for incident everytime. Other than that, Makayla at the front desk is very pleasant and professional and I also met the General Manager Mike, who I spoke with about the $100.00 deposit rule and he was very pleasant as well.
My overall, my stay is great and they have a restaurant and bar downstairs which is convenient. The housekeeper is awesome as well. I wish I had her name. Let mentiin the bed. The bed is very comfortable and relaxing. I haven't slept this good in a long time. I am having heat issues and my room is always cold. Crown Plaza location is secluded but is by a bus stop within walking distance. I really love here.

“Definitely the worst stay we've had here. I understand it's very hot outside so the hotel is conserving energy by keeping the thermostat at 73, but it's not tolerable there is no where for the air to circulate. The maintenance guy told us that from 115 to 815pm is the energy saving time. It's well after 815pm and it's still uncomfortable.”

“The guy at the front desk was very unprofessional and you can tell he absolutely hates his job. He was not willing to help us in anyway with an error on booking and mocked my co-worker on the phone.
The service was by far the worst I have ever received and I do not have high expectations. I am not the kind of person to leave a negative review either, that is how bad this experience was.
Other than that the hotel was was actually clean and in a very beautiful area.”

I got a good night's rest , a little time for television and of course a hot shower in the morning.
It may smell a little bit, but this is the only hotel in the area with nice rates and rooms always available.
There is security on the premise that takes his job very serious! I will return... the ice makers were down but I wouldn't let that ruin my visit.”

“Room was decent, it was clean. Had a few fast food restaurants right by the hotel property within walking distance if you eat that kind of food. We were attending a concert at Northwest stadium and it was not far. When checking out the front desk lady was very nice. For me it was just a one night stay so I didn't explore the property regarding gym or pool.”

The only drawback is that the booking stated complementary breakfast and when I went to the hotel I was told something different that breakfast will be charged per person. Correction: Lanham has the best Red Roof Inn. The ENTIRE staff have been amazing since I’ve been at their location. I’ve been with them for awhile and they have treated me right. The price is right, location is nice, accessible every way. Off highway, on metro route, walkable food places, even have great security staff to keep the place safe.”

The only complaint at all is the room keys seem to barely function at all. It will take multiple tries and sometimes a trip down to the front desk to get them to finally work. “It was what it was. Due to repairs we had to stay at a hotel. Needless to say my wife left behind a piece of her work very important. When we called no help. I'm sure it's gone . The hotel itself not so happy, toilet issues. But I am very happy about the ladies that came and attended to us,always friendly and forthcoming.
