“I was just walking past Union Kitchen, thought I stop in. It was a cute quaint, grocery store/café. I ordered a chickpea chorizo fiesta hash. It wasn't my favorite, but I was trying something new. “This is my neighborhood store. When I need coffee, sandwich, something quick on the way home from work this is where I go. Their coffee is solid (better than the place around the corner for sure), prepared food is very tasty and there are about 3 sandwiches that are so good I can't seem to buy a different one! But what stands out the most are the people. They know my name and I know theirs. They are good honest people and hard workers who take the time to make you feel welcomed. In a world that seems to be becoming more and more abstract and divorced from simple human to human relationships it's as much a beacon of home that a corner store can be. Over the top review- yes but they've been my place for years so they earned it in my mind.”

“Convenient neighborhood gas station. There's a couple of pumps that have broken card readers, so pay attention to signs or maybe just go inside to be safe. They're offering cheaper prices if you pay cash, so this is a plus!!! I love this station because they have snacks, cold and headache medicine, my favorite child hood snacks like sun flower seeds and hot sausages! It's the little things and oh yeah GAS!”

“Havent saw ms kyra since i was a kid in elementary/middle school) used to live a round the corner from her store in that area for 5 years & she helped get me in a karate class across the street from her store, even use to let me ,my bros, and my sister go when we didnt have enough $ for our items sometimes ... good to see she didnt sell out after all these years that passed i was 8 - 13 back then and 26 now and she still standing with all of all this gentrification uptown.. those were the good days Miss her and that area.”

“Small but covenient Indian grocery store! They're in a busy shopping center next door to Hip Hop chicken. My mom put me onto their mangoes and indeed they are sweet and definitely worth it. They don't always have them, but when they do, I am happy. Their hours online aren't consistent so call ahead if possible. They have other fruits, spices and snacks.”

I live in the apartment high rise across the street and the 51 liquor store, carryout and convenience store are my go tos when I need to pick up something quick without riding in my car.
