“I could go here for hours and still not see everything, very fun to peruse and a good place to find supplies and things for all sorts of projects and decorating inside & out”

“The most amazing "thrift" store in the area! Calling Wise Penny a "thrift" store doesn't really do it justice; their selections are unique, tasteful, and good quality. It is more akin to a consignment store than a Goodwill. While the clothes are fashionable, they are more suited for a more professional taste. That being said, there are tons of trendy, young clothes to pick from as well.I am a petite woman and it's near impossible to find high quality clothes that fit me, but everything I came home with from here fit me incredibly well without tailoring. I don't see any reason to go anywhere else for my clothing needs. Finally, the prices really cannot be beat at all. Sure, it's not the cheapest thrift in Baltimore, but after accounting for the quality and brand names, the prices are insane. I can't believe I came out with several barely-worn/new brand name pieces for less than $50.”

“Such a lovely place to browse ! There is a variety of very clean, decently priced, well made clothing (and vintage!) ; home goods were good quality; there is a large selection of jewelry. The building itself is an eclectic site. The volunteers were helpful and pleasant.”

“Little pricy but if you need paint brushes or rollers way excellent deals. Also found some seriously old light bulbs for a lamp my wife has, which I couldn't even buy online or Lowes or home Depot. That was awesome, stupid lamp hasn't worked since last summer. She was really excited to see it lit up again this evening”

“My mom and I used to visit Thrifty Penny many years ago when I was in school. I still remember the lovely staff and we still have some of the special finds from our visits. Based on the recent reviews I read, it seems like the shop is still a gem.”

“This is such a cool place with really great quality clothing and shoes. Very friendly staff, super clean, multiple dressing rooms, and very convenient location. Great place to recycle your pre-owned clothing too.”

“I went to the one out Dundalk first for 2 dressers this past Saturday.Although they claimed to be open on Google search, that was not the case. (Plus, no one answered the phone when I called). I was very disappointed because I had to pay to get there, which was 7 miles from my house. I did get the dressers from the one on Fulton Ave tho. And I left there happy. IF YOU CANNOT GET ANY ONE ON THE PHONE TO THE STORE IN DUNDALK, DO NOT GO!”

“Cool thrift store and great if you need professional clothes. However, a bit pricey - but still better than buying new. Is kinda a cross between an antique store and a thrift store.”

“Great way to save on little kids clothing. This Grandma can send her grandkids back to South America with a whole new wardrobe each time they come to visit. My granddaughter just loves to go to the Kids store and pick out her own stuff.”

“An amazing store with a wide variety of pieces and sizes. The owner, Zakiya Shivers, has impeccable and discerning taste in the items she selects for her shop— a great mixture of bohemian, African, and vintage apparel, shoes and accessories. The inventory changes all the time as, in addition to her own selections, “Ms. Tightfisted” regularly invites local artists to display and vend their own goods and frequently hosts special events for such occasions. As a result, Tightfisted Fashion has a genuine, down to earth community vibe. If you are in Baltimore and looking for beautiful and unique pieces to add to your collection, this store is not to be missed!”

“I grew up in Remington, continued to live there until I was 32 yrs old. Pastor Alice is an exceptional woman who always has everyone's best interest at heart. I can remember numerous times as a child going to the thrift shop in the basement of the church with my mom. God rest her soul. I never left empty-handed LoL #goodtimes”

“This is my neighborhood thrift store. I shop here at least once a week. And sometimes try to shop here the last hour before closing because I work 9 to 5. This works sometimes and I buy things and sometimes he stops letting shoppers in at 6:30. I want them to allow us to shop until 7 o clock p.m. closing time.”

“Have enjoyed donating to this very friendly and well manned location. The store itself is organized and always has people to help you. Prices are reasonable. Compared to Goodwill- this place is a WINNER!”

“Mrs. Tina is a gem she is professional and treats everyone with respect I have noticed. My little getaway when I venture out in the area since I am a full-time caregiver if both parents,Ms.Tina always has a positive word for me knowing I am a caregiver of senior parents. She is special to me and other staff members at the store in Pikesville on Flagstaff Rd.are warm hearted people I have experience.I have been going to this store over a decade.I treat people as I wish to be treated.”

“The employees are very nice and helpful, especially the young black male cashiers, Makenzie, and the female assistant manager with the braids. The prices are hit or miss at times. I do feel that the toys and chairs are priced pretty fair. The guys taking the donations in the back are always friendly. I like this location and Towson the best.”

“I like this store. True the hours of operation are crazy and anyone can come in and put $20 on a $400 item on lay-a-way which makes half the store a lay-a-way storage. I think that's bad business. They have wonderful furniture, some look vintage like the couch i got. love the items I manage to get there so far. Also they deliver for $50 if you live in the area. The lady there is very nice and gives you time to look around. Check it out.”

“I have used Once Upon A Child Elliott City for quite a while now. I came in Sunday to exchange clothes but was greeted by a rep who ignored me for a while and then looked behind her at the other reps. I’m thinking I was in the wrong line. She finally speaks to me and says they are no longer accepting clothes. I was shocked…because I saw clothes everywhere being sorted. I questioned her about it and mentioned I did not receive an alert on my phone saying this. She was very abrupt. I asked her name and she told me I’m not giving you that. Another co-worker came by and tried to assist. She stated they stop taking in clothes an hour before closing. I looked at my watch and it was 4:50, so I was there prior but they chose not to accept my clothes. I came back Monday and spoke with a very friendly manager that apologized for the treatment I received, took my clothes in and didn’t seem annoyed with me even though there were more items in-front of her than the rep who was rude to me. I love coming here and haven’t had any issues, So I was surprised at the treatment I received initially but I respect the apology and treatment I received when I returned.”

“This is a large and very neat store. Strangely, the donation center is a drive-through (not a walk-up). Some items are over-priced but I suspect that they lower costs once something has been sitting on the market for long enough since the two arm chairs I got for $5 each had layers of stickers with higher prices. The manager was forgiving of my unbelievably dense (and in retrospect selfish) walk-up donation and even went so far as to help me load the arm chairs on a sweltering day out. If you are hunting for household items or furniture, this might be the location you find it. Overall, would definitely recommend!”

“Awesome spot to kill some time, pick up some trinkets and just stroll the isles. The staff is friendly and fun! Management insists on “quick and courteous checkout” ;) get a receipt for your donation it gives you 20 bucks off a purchase of 50 and sign up for rewards!”

“Some good finds but it was very sparse. They had furniture, clothes, a few books, games, housewares, accessories, and shoes. There wasn’t a huge selection especially for men’s clothes. I typically go to Savers in Towson which is much better but wanted to try this. It was fine.”

“Halloween & Christmas decors available when we visited. Wasn’t expecting to buy something, but I found some interesting kitchen items that I need at good price. Its a Goodwill same as others. Cashier was friendly though, took time to carefully pack the items I bought. Take time to browse, you might get lucky”
