“We’ve been taking our cars to Alewife Automotive for almost 10 years, and I’m consistently impressed with their service and kindness. We’ve had everything done from inspections to tires to repairs. They are transparent and fair, and they never tack on surprise charges. A perfect example of this was I had taken a new car to get inspected with plates to a shop closer to our home, and not only were they kind of rude to me, but they wanted to charge me $20 to put plates on. I called George at Alewife and he said to come on over, they’ll take care of it all no charge. And this is something I’m used to with them—no charges to change out a bulb, top off fluids, etc. As a woman I’ve found that the stereotype is usually true with many shops, trying to get me to buy something I don’t need or up-charge me for something I wasn’t prepared for. It’s worth the slightly longer drive to get here for their service, I don’t know why I ever try to go anywhere else!”

“I was in to have one of my tires swapped out due to a puncture. While the car was in the mechanic checked the front suspension and noticed serious issues with the ball joint and tie rod links. Although they don’t do suspensions work they recommended replacing as soon as possible. My mechanic agreed and said they saved me some serious potential damage. “Rick and team did a great job servicing my Audi 2017 A4 on multiple occasions (coolant hose, brake pads, oil changes). They are professional, proficient and polite. I used to take my Audi to Herb Chambers Burlington for servicing but they lost my trust when they refused to take ownership for a coolant hose replacement that should have been covered by their service warranty. Not to digress from this review but it is important to share this experience so that others are aware that once your car warranty runs out, going back to the dealership is not worth it.
Here is what happened. I had our Audi A4 2017 serviced at Audi Burlington Herb Chambers. For a significant cost they replaced one of the coolant hoses in addition to other work that was done for which I have the documentation and a video in which the mechanic conveyed the problem. A year later, I had an issue with the coolant hose leaking and I took my car back to Herb Chambers Burlington since repairs are covered for two years. I was given a quote of around $2232 because apparently it was a different hose. I called their bluff and forfeited the $250 to Herb Chambers Burlington for doing the coolant leak examination. Instead, I went ahead with Audi Auto engineering to replace the coolant hose for $700. And after Auto Engineering fixed it , I took the old damaged coolant hose and tank back to Audi Burlington and showed it to the service desk guys. 6 months later, my car is driving great.
I made a formal complaint with Audi USA and they said talk to the dealer. And then they sent me an email asking me to complete a survey. LOL. Really?
Audi Burlington no longer has my trust. I don’t really care about the free coffee, chocolates and the chips that they offer. You have to take ownership for the repairs that you do.
Needless to say I was humored when I learned of the jab that the Audi sales guy took at Rick and team. Seriously?”

Someone recommended Pleasant Car Care to me, and I’m so glad they did. The repair I actually needed was much less extensive—and thousands of dollars less—than what Mercedes told me I had to have done.
I don’t know much about cars, so finding a place with integrity that I can genuinely trust is incredibly valuable to me. Watertown isn’t exactly convenient to where I live, but knowing I can bring my car there and work with honest, trustworthy people makes the drive completely worth it.

“Came in for winter tire changeover. Was told at 2pm that they were a man down. I said, no problem, I’ll be here until 5:30.
Got the car at 5:30 and hit the highway and the car starts shimmying right away. I was not happy.
Called the next day. Made a priority appointment. When I showed up for the spot, I was polite but firm. I told one of the guys that I had sat patiently for 3.5 hours waiting for my tires the first time in. No problem. I had the time. Today, I don’t have the time and did not want to wait. I have never left Direct Tire with out-of-balance tires.
So, Fabio, a mechanic that I met looked at the tires and rims. He brought me out to show me the problem. The right side tires were wobbly as he turned them. Huh. I had not seen that before.
So we made a plan. I asked that he rebalance the tires to the best of his ability and put the two best balanced tires up front. He agreed that was the best plan of action.
I was not there long, and when I left, I hopped on the highway, and it was 100% better. Not perfect, but so much better. I know that it will never be perfect. I guess this is what had been done in the past without me knowing.
Once again, great service, people who care, and a super staff keep me coming back. It may be a little more expensive, but it’s always worth it. Every single time.
I appreciate your attention to customer service. It makes all the difference in the world.

They couldn't get to it right away so we dropped by after the race. They took care of us on the spot and were very reasonably priced! We'll be back whenever we need tires!”
“Met Carmelo and Gus this morning when I took my 23 old truck for an inspection. I have had bad experience at other shops for simple inspections before. Not at Volsar, they were friendly, professional, and honest. I did all the work myself so I know my truck inside out and know nothing is wrong or need fixing. Volsar confirm nothing was needed besides the inspection sticker.
I will start bringing my cars here for mechanic work in the future. It’s hard to find honest and good mechanics.”

“This is shout out for the good service at Pleasant St., Shell. . I had a last-minute glitch with my car, which i needed to go on a trip within 48 hours. I brought the car in without an appointment and they quickly did the diagnostic and repair, and uncovered something that would have been a safety issue for my trip, And my car was back 24 hours later. I highly recommend them.”
