“Jose, Julio, and Carlos from the maintenance team have truly gone above and beyond since I moved in to help address a few issues! They have been incredibly prompt and always eager to help. Jose has made things happen quickly and is very on top of coordination. They have made my living experience so much more positive! Christopher the property manager has also been very thoughtful about helping when there was miscommunication/issues with my unit upon move in. He has really taken the time to ensure any issues were addressed and escalating when needed.

My only concern/ feedback relates to the college students in this building who are often bringing groups/friends into the facilities (infiltrating the gym with groups) and throwing parties in the rooftop area. I think management should adopt a no-students policy for the building and/or better control over their access to the building amenities, since it significantly impacts the ability of professionals to live in the building.”

“I don't usually write reviews, but Jimmy Ngu genuinely deserves one. From the moment he showed us around the building on our very first tour, he was warm, knowledgeable, and never made us feel pressured. He just made us feel at home.

Years and half later, that hasn't changed. Any time we've had a question — big or small — Jimmy has been there with a quick, helpful response. He made the lease renewal process smooth and stress-free.

Having a leasing agent who actually remembers you, cares about your experience, and goes out of their way to help is rare. If you're considering this building, know that you'll be in great hands with Jimmy.”

“10 years @Asteria and it has been an absolutely best experience! Why so long?

1. Cannot beat location with accessibility to Beacon Hill, Seaport, Charles River, Cambridge and Downtown Crossing - arguably best location in town.

2. Very safe and secure as location is right next to the mass general hospital. Always security of some sort around.

3. Amazing staff that did change over the years but overall that’s part of the reason I stayed! Heartily shoutout to Mike from maintenance, Gabby and Brandon from the leasing office. Paul the doorman was my favorite - always to detail oriented and organized!

4. Many residents stay for many years given all the positives provided above. It’s nice to have a rental building that’s not fully transient.

5. Building is mostly doctors, nurses and residents so generally very quiet.

Only two negatives: gym is very old and needs a facelift; garage is very expensive and gross, scary (drug addicts) but that’s controlled by mass general not west end apartments.”

“I lived here for all four years of college, and this apartment truly made my time in Boston happier. I honestly think this is the best apartment in Boston. The building is well designed and well maintained, and the location is super convenient. Everything you need for daily life is nearby, and the staff has always been friendly and responsive!

“My favorite apartment I’ve lived in. The concierge and leasing team are very responsive and consistently go above and beyond.

On one occasion, I had packages delivered that required refrigeration while I was away traveling, and they kindly coordinated refrigerating them safely until my return.

Kenny, the doorman at Ink Block 3, is one of the best doormen I’ve ever had. He knows everyone in the building by name, is always offering to help (especially with packages), and is so friendly and positive—he truly makes my day.
Katie in the leasing office was always incredibly helpful when I was moving in / moving out.

I moved out of Ink Block due to a job relocation, but if I had stayed in Boston, I would have absolutely continued living here—I truly can’t think of a better place to live.
The location is unbeatable: walkable to downtown (where my office was), Back Bay, and the Seaport, with CVS and Whole Foods right in the same block.
The staff are fantastic, the building is clean and well-maintained, and the apartments themselves are great—lots of natural sunlight, modern appliances, and no maintenance issues during my time there.”

“Not at all luxurious, but perhaps the most convenient place to live as a college student, young professional, and any other person seeking very affordable housing in a prime location of Boston (3-minute walk from a T station and a BU Bus stop, across from BU campus, nearby Newbury). If you are not built for communal living, this place will not be for you - otherwise, it is comparable to any college dorm I’ve ever lived it. Noise, breakdown of amenities (laundry room was honestly a consistent issue - I’ve had to ring my clothes out by hand on several occasions because of the faulty machines), and other similar issues are definitely present, but I found it manageable. Also there was a minor issue of some pests in the building (roaches, other bugs, occasional mouse - the common city life pest issues), but I never had an issue with pests in my personal room; as long as you keep things relatively clean in your own area, I doubt you will have any issues. Most of the residents are friendly and generous with sharing food and other things with their neighbors. Until recently, the building was almost entirely young college students or recent grads and older women. However there was a slight shift in residents around the time I left and I would be lying if I said it didn’t change the culture a bit (I left at the end of 2024). However, once again, if you are looking for a very convenient place to live (likely short-term - I lived here for about 3 years without any major/unmanageable issues), then this is absolutely a great option to consider. I am very grateful that this was an option for me for that chapter of my life.”

The apartments are spacious, clean, and very comfortable, and the campus itself is full of amenities that make everyday life enjoyable. I especially love the pool table and the large community room, which are perfect for socializing and spending time with neighbors. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always creating a welcoming atmosphere. There are so many fun social events and activities that keep residents engaged, active, and connected. From fitness classes to game nights and community gatherings, there’s always something to enjoy. The location is also very convenient, with easy access to public transit, shopping, and local attractions. It’s truly a vibrant, lively community that feels like home!”

“I can't complain.

I placed some orders through Amazon a month before my stay, and they stored them without problems (they only charge you US$5 per package). The location is excellent, in a beautiful neighborhood like Back Bay.

The excellent room. The bed is large and with many pillows. They leave you many towels in the bathroom. They may forget to replace the items used in a bathroom, but it doesn't matter.

They offer you complimentary breakfast, without knowing it beforehand. Breakfast is simple, with juice, coffee, fruits, croissants, muffins and that's it.

They have a 24-hour lounge room, where you can serve yourself water, tea or coffee with Starbucks capsules with cream.

It exceeded my expectations. I would go again.”
