“A great bookstore, very large, well stocked and organized. Many historical and more recent books. I looked for a book by Dennis Lehane (the author of Mystic River, who is from Boston) but couldn't find it. Damage. But an address that I recommend for lovers of old paper.”
“We go for breakfast fairly often when we bring our son to BU and we enjoy the fun vibe of the place. The food is good but I would not say it is noteworthy. I ordered poached eggs this time and I should have specified that I like them a bit firm and they were extremely runny but I perhaps should have said how I liked them - that said, we ordered via the QR code. I think in the future I will order directly through the servers because a couple of things happened as a result of us choosing QR. 1) We were served our coffee but nobody had given us any silverware and there was no wait-staff that wasn't already tending to other customers to bring us something to stir it with. I asked a passing server but they must have forgotten. So by the time our food came (with silverware) the coffee was cold. and 2) you can't specify stuff like "can they maybe cook the poached eggs a bit extra because I prefer them a bit firm. That all said, there is a happy vibe there and seems like lots of people are gathering there with someone they love and it has a buzzy happy feel. Plus the bookstore attached has so much fun stuff to browse. Best greeting card section ever. I stock up every timel”
“I reached out to Posman books and they had exactly the books I was looking for, put them on hold for me, and I was able to pick them up the next day. The whole interaction was smooth and full human personality and kindness.”
“I love this book store! It’s bright and welcoming and the employees are always so nice. It’s located right on the waterfront too so it’s always a pleasure to walk here.”

“Their array and pricing has something for all. I always have to stop to look at the books outside and I love that inside people sit on the floor and look through books. The only thing missing is a cat that will sit in the sun and sometimes choose you to be the one to lay with as you browse.”
“Wonderful wonderful. Rema is a gift herself as is the rest of the employees. They need to be commended for their outstanding and above and beyond enthusiasm and performances.”
“Beacon Hill Cafe is a charming little cafe underneath a charming little book store. The menu had a nice selection of brunch items. I had the mushroom soup and my friend had the squash salad with buratta. I splurged and got a popover with my soup. The popover was disappointing.. crusty and hard instead of light and buttery. The soup was tasty although very different from any other mushroom soup I've ever had. My friend reported that the squash (the centerpiece of her salad) was not good although the rest of it was. I guess there's no way to know if a particular squash is tasty or not from the kitchen. Our server was adorable and very attentive. I'm glad we were able to get a reservation and I might return but my overall feeling is that we paid a lot of money for atmosphere and not really noteworthy food.”
“Almost every year (sometimes twice a year), I take a trip to Boston, to spend a truly lovely day on Northeastern’s beautiful campus. A big part of this experience is going to the Northeastern University Bookstore!! I LOVE the Northeastern Bookstore!! It has a fantastic selection of apparel, stationery and, of course, many books. Lastly, Tim, the bookstore’s manager is without question, the finest scholar and gentleman. Customer service must be Tim’s first priority because every time I work with him, I have an Awesome experience!!”
“Stumbled on this place while visiting Boston- found the owner to be welcoming and the store to be cozy and charming. 99% Harry Potter merchandise with a small amount of other goodies. Worth a look, esp for HP fans!”
“Standard B&N at BU. I have a lot of fond memories of browsing the specialty magazines and quirky gifts there. I still have the collegiate hoodie purchased off the Sale rack in the early 2000s!”
“Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC), conveniently situated on New Rutherford Avenue, is, in my firmly held opinion and based on the frequent, genuinely transformative success stories from diverse friends and neighbors who have studied there, an absolutely essential, high-quality gateway to academic and career advancement that provides accessible education with exceptional dedication to student outcomes. Everyone I’ve spoken with consistently praises the supportive and highly engaged faculty, the phenomenal array of affordable vocational and transfer programs, and the robust student support services, including tutoring and counseling, emphasizing that the college successfully serves as an engine of social mobility and personal empowerment for the entire Greater Boston region. I’ve learned from their narratives that the atmosphere is one of focused opportunity and encouraging inclusivity, making it an exceptional, low-risk starting point for anyone looking to earn a degree, start a new career path, or bridge into a four-year university program. My subjective conclusion is that BHCC is an irreplaceable public resource and a true community success story - a mandatory place to visit if you are considering furthering your education, no matter your age or background.”
“You will find all the things you need regarding anything for school but I will say it is a bit expensive. They do have a good go to snack array and have everyday essentials needed for the dorms or at home.”
“I have been a collector of rare books for 3 decades and have never been in a shop with such fine employees. I brought my 20 yo son who had never been in a similar setting and they immediately attended to him and helped him to feel comfortable and appreciated. While they are not the largest antiquarian bookstore the volumes they own are carefully curated and chosen for people with budgets from $50 to $50,000. I have no other relationship to them except as a customer and get no discount for my opinion (I wish!). Much luck to them. Ask to see the Picasso miniature!! Jim”
“Some of the best food I've had in a while! So glad that I was introduced to this place, the Japanese themed decor makes for such a great dining experience. P.S. , The pan fried gyoza is incredible!”
“This is a typical college bookstore. There are tons of required books laid out very well so they can be found. There are also several promotional and branded items for the school. While this was a little darker than most Barnes and Nobles I've been to, that's probably because this one is in a city and was the within the school campus. I will definitely come back here when my daughter becomes a student in the area.”
“After a shocking price tag at a designer place in Winchester and a horrible experience at Home Depot, I gave 3 days blinds a call. I had just bought my first house and the blinds that were on the windows had the 3 day blinds labels on them, indicating the previous owners had used them as well. From start to finish I had a great experience. My consultant was Sara Morin and she did a wonderful job understanding my vision, I felt a connection instantly. After the consult there were several follow ups from the installation company. The installers came exactly as scheduled and did a great job. We are very happy with our purchase, which I view as an investment just like tile work or new cabinets and counter tops. Our kitchen looks so different now, its amazing how a window treatment can transform a space! Even one change helps to make a space feel like its your home, your design... yours. :)”
“Such a great bookstore. I've only been here once but I'll definitely be going back. The workers here are so helpful and do their best to find whatever you need. The used books are the best, going for as cheap as $3-$4. Got a handful of books for under $20!”
“The area around HBS is actually hard to find a cheap lunch option. Not just because of the increased inflation, but if you don't want a sandwich. It hard to find a variety. Spangler offered a full tans of food varieties all being fresh. My office just moved closer to Spangler and sometime I just want a quick soup n salad. They have a hot bar that offers cuisines from around the world which makes for a nice change. The staff is so kind and helpful. Peak lunch time can be crowded so plan accordingly.”

“I stopped by Booklink to grab a book for my flights, I ended up buying Christmas decorations. Yes, I know I was surprised too! Booklink is a pricey bookstore/gift shop located at Boston-Logan Airport. Although, it is pricey, it has a good book selection and a surprisingly well stocked gift shop with lots of great items. During my recent shop there, I saw large christmas table ornaments, that was really a candle. Neat! I also found some beautiful Christmas themed hand towels. One hand towel has a picture of a cardinal on it, the other a blue jay. This was perfect as one of my themes in my Christmas decor is birds and the two just happen to be cardinals and blue jays. I ended up getting one of those ornaments and the hand towels, pricey but definitely worth it! Check out Book Link, if you find yourself inside Boston-Logan airport!”
“The store itself is very neat and organized despite the chaos of all of the students coming in to pick up textbooks, merch, and devices. All items were in their respective place, nothing was on the floor and staff was very friendly. They have everything you could think of here.”
“you would be hard pressed to find a shop with a better collection of american history books, let alone in the conditions and prices available, anywhere in the country.”
