“Kind of strange to be writing a review for the post office, but after reading the bad reviews for the Dedham post office, I went ahead and made my way to the Westwood post office.
I thought the woman behind the counter was extremely patient as I tried to figure out the best way to send my three different tax-related documents -– some that needed certified with return receipt, others that did not. Apparently the type of envelope that you buy can determine the way it’s mailed, and some envelopes end up costing more than others because of that.
In the end, I was able to get everything mailed, get the return receipts I needed, and she never made me feel rushed or stupid. It was also five minutes before closing time, so I give her a lot of kudos for that too.”

The service has been hit or miss with delivery times for ground in the US taking 12 days in some cases. But overall very good.”

Fix their AC! It felt like high 80s and humid inside when it was cooler outdoors. Those poor folks were sweating buckets. Maybe there was a power outage because the ticket service was down too.”
“Wish I could give 10 stars to the Roslindale Post office. I was putting together a retirement for my boss that was due at noon. I was waiting on 3 more envelopes that my colleagues had put in the mail the week before that I anticipated were most likely in the carriers bag out for delivery. At 10:30am I called the PO and April answered the phone. I offered to meet the carrier wherever he was to grab the envelope since my afternoon mail delivery would mean I could not finish putting the gift together. April went above and beyond and found the carrier and within 30 minutes the two envelopes were dropped in my box and she called to confirm they had been received. In 93° weather, I tried to run out to give the carrier a cold Gatorade, but he was already gone before I could get there. Both April and the mail carrier went out of their way to save the day so that we could complete the gift for my boss. A+++++++”
“Wow! I am visiting my sister here and just mailed out 3 posts. Vin the clerk pick up a mistake on a zipcode I have been using from Thailand for a year. He check the zipcode I had 3 times and mine was wrong. Great service and no wait. Easy peasy in and out. Thank you Vin!”

“This has been my post office for 3 years and I go regularly. They handle everything in a professional manner, they know a lot, they are organized and ready to help. I usually don't have to wait for too long. I never had my packages missing and they always get delivered promptly. My package got stuck in another post office (went there by error) and it has been stuck for over 3 week. This post office even helped me out with that. I am so grateful. Every employee is helpful and special thanks to the lovely blonde lady who resembles Stevie Nicks!”
“The guy that helped me out was extremely helpful and patient with everyone I saw on line. It's crazy to me that they'd hire someone for a government job that can only half a day a week and they seemed incredibly understaffed. Its only because the higher ups won't hire proper staff for him. It's crazy what even the government gets away with. I hope he gets more staff soon that doesn't work on a selfish timeline. hopefully someone will see all these horrible reviews about her and they'll finally get the hint. Time for a staffing change.”

I don’t mail things often, so I fumbled through the questions on the screen and made a few mistakes, Juan was very patient with me and kind in explaining the process.I even went back in line because I was so nervous I messed up something up and wanted to see the box again, and he let me assess my box and didn’t seem to mind even though it was the end of the day and near closing time. “I think that it's extremely unfortunate that this post office has gotten such low ratings. I've been a customer for almost 20 years and I can honestly say that while I have had very few interaction directly with staff, there I rarely have any reason to bother a humanbeing with such a simple task as taking a letter, because this is one of the few locations in the greater Boston area that still has a 24-7-365 SELF-SERVICE KIOSK IN THE LOBBY. Anyone that chooses to go during the day to a busy post office and expects to get out of there quickly is delusional and they probably have issues with using the self-service kiosks at most grocery stores. I have never had a problem with the kiosk and I hope that this review will help others make better use of their time and reduce the burden on postal workers. GO THERE AT 7:00 P.M. THERE'S NOBODY THERE ?”

“I just had to write about my experience with the Post office in Dorchester. I live in California and mailed a package to my elderly aunt in Dorchester via overnight. She missed the package, as it required a signature and the package went back to the post office and they left a note she needed to pick up the package from the post office.. She asked me to call the post office and see if I could have it scheduled for redelivery. In California personnel DO NOT answer the phone....EVER and so I had already felt I would need to tell my aunt I was unable to reach anyone. WELL......I called and...I was in total shock!! The woman answered the phone on the first ring and was pleasant!! I was in shock, given my experience with the post office over the last 10 years!...She was very helpful. She informed me, given they were about to close, someone would need to go down with their ID the next day.The next day my aunt sent her grandson for the package. The grandson was unable to get the package because he did not have the tracking number. My aunt, called me again in California 8 a.m. on a Saturday and asked me to call the post office and see if I could provide the tracking number. Again, I felt I got lucky the day before and there would be no way someone would answer that early in the morning.Lord and behold when I called, a woman AGAIN answered the phone!!! OMG.Again pleasant and she was very helpful and I was able to provide the tracking number and she facilitated my aunt receiving the package I sent her.I believe the woman said her name was Janice. She answered the call when I called the first time and she answered the phone when I called the second time!! Janice, Kudos to you.. You need to be the face of post offices around the world! Your handling of my situation will never be forgotten. Thank you!Management----Janice is a jewel. Thank you.”
