“I had a really great experience here to get my passport processed. Shout out to Barry as he was very knowledgeable and patient. He explained everything with details and took really great pictures for my passport. Go here if you need assistance with your passport.”
“I needed to send some books media rate, but I haven’t sent packages through USPS in a while and was unfamiliar and unsure about the process. The woman behind the counter was incredibly patient and helped me out in correctly addressing my package and finding a way to print my pre-paid label (FYI, no printer here but if you have a QR code from Click-N-Ship they can scan it and print the label themselves). They were also managing the line efficiently on a Friday afternoon close to closing and kept everything moving. All the packages I sent arrived in one piece. This is hands down the best experience I have ever had at any USPS location.
Editing to add: I came again to mail another package, and the same fantastic person helped me find the most affordable shipping option and was patient while I figured out my shipping address. I had tried to mail this same thing at FedEx the day before but couldn’t because I didn’t have my ID on me— so glad, because this was $5 cheaper for a faster and more convenient experience. I love this post office.”
“I had a missing package that I needed help locating, and Joe took the time to walk me through what might’ve happened with it and offer a solution. I really appreciate his customer service.”
“The staffs are always helpful and friendly. And they remember you. It feels like a tight neighborhood post office vibe which some times can be hard to find elsewhere. Parking can be tricky though.”
“One of the best USPS offices around. Hard workers with many years of knowledge and exceptional service. Yoy have questions you'll get answers and when you need help you will receive it”
“Stopped here , sending packages.
The guy , named Jun (or Jin) was awesome. Super friendly , even borrowed tapes to me , instead of selling. Awesome guy.”
“The guy with the beard— I didn’t ask for his name unfortunately— was super nice and made sure to track my package as quickly as he could as I was wondering about the status and it delivered a couple of hours later!”
“I MET A LASS FROM MASS THERE & SHE REALLY DID CARE & THAT IS WHY I WANT TO SHARE IN CASE SHE IS LOOKING FOR A HEAVENLY HONEY BEAR & NOT JUST A SUGAR DADDY!”
“Best USPS experience ever! I approach the counter with only one person before me and Rocco saw my passport photo & forms and walked me through the whole process so fast I barely had time to think, and it was done! I have never felt such support at the post office! If you are close enough, and it’s convenient to go to this location over any of the others, I would highly recommend it!”
“How to address discrepancy with the post office and I went to the Mattapn post office and I spoke with Kate and she was able to take care of the issue with no problem. Talk about express service on a Friday. I was very grateful.”
“Doug was super helpful and so flexible with my confusion over sending mail to Canada. He made the experience seamless and enjoyable. Grateful for a great team at this location!”
“The South Boston Post Office is a shining example of excellent customer service and efficiency. Located in a central area of the neighborhood, it’s incredibly convenient for locals and offers a friendly and stress-free experience, no matter what your postal needs may be.
One of the highlights of this location is its exceptionally helpful and professional staff. Every time I’ve visited, I’ve been greeted with a warm smile, and the team is always ready to assist with any questions or services. Whether you're mailing a package, buying stamps, or navigating international shipping, the staff takes the time to explain everything clearly and efficiently, making the process smooth and hassle-free.
The office is well-organized and clean, with a nice balance of self-service kiosks and personal counter service. Despite sometimes busy times, the staff manages to keep things moving quickly, without sacrificing helpfulness or attention to detail.
It’s clear that the South Boston Post Office truly values its customers, and it’s evident in their attentive service. For anyone in the area looking for a reliable, friendly place to handle their mailing needs, this post office is the perfect choice. I always leave feeling well taken care of!”
“I feel like most of these reviews are just people who had one bad experience and went here to post about it. Nobody gives a review when everything works as it should, but in fact it does most of the time.
The post office worker was friendly. Told me everything I needed to know. I shipped my package and I was in and out in 5 minutes”
“I come to this USPS fairly regularly and it’s usually staffed by the same two women. They’re unbelievably patient and kind and they go out of their way to help customers. Genuinely the best, most stress-free post office experience I’ve had.”
“Unable to deliver pkg due to gaining entry confusion, so I called local office, within minutes my package arrived. Gentleman on the phone was pleasant, driver was extremely sweet, and everything worked out very quickly. Couldn't be happy with this local USPS.”
“I received outstanding service from Mrs. Ellis today at the post office! She was incredibly helpful, patient, and kind. Despite having a long line of customers, she still took the time to go above and beyond to help locate my missing packages. You can tell she truly cares and tries her absolute best to assist everyone, no matter how busy it gets.
Please be kind to her, she genuinely deserves it.
Thank you so much, Mrs. Ellis!”
“nice neighborhood po. For those writing negative reviews,,. Go back where you came from or go south to the down Dudley po. but really this is a cute location. The staff have been there for a while and I have built a good rapport.”
“Staff here is the greatest of all time- patient, caring and always willing to help even when terribly understaffed. They deserve a raise and a nicer work environment which should be provided by the federal government. The US government is failing us all and the failure is reflected directly in the condition of our run down post office facilities. The staff here is our only saving grace at Washington st.”
“Superb service! The male postmaster who helped us was very patient and gives out chill helpful vibes.
I was afraid to visit the usps stores since they all have low rating. However, this was a good, smooth experience.”
“Came in on a Tuesday morning to check on a status of my mail not being delivered and picking up mail. Didn't have any issues and the person at the front desk was very helpful.”
“Hidden gem of a post office. I almost don’t want to draw attention to it! Friendly, efficient service by people who know what they’re doing. Sharon is the best.”
