Unlike the other pet store chains, especially in Pittsfield, Timmy was healthy, well socialized and taken care of. You can tell the staff at this store not only take good care of the animals in their custody but socialize them to become used to people and handling. Timmy has been remarkably healthy and vivacious and has not had any health problems. I also love using the coupons they send out, they help out buying larger quantities of pet food. The staff are always friendly.

Sweet and caring towards him, particularly after he had a CCL tear a few years ago and uses the leg sparingly. Skyler is also wonderful and Captain is well cared for and looks and smells so good when he is done. We wouldn't trust him to any other groomer!

1634 West Housatonic Street, PittsfieldI received a favorable recommendation from an acquaintance to try the SHPR. My 1 year old Black Mouth Cur has spent a few days here and there at SHPR over the past few months leading up to a 10 day stay just now. She becomes excited on the way there, once we open the windows and she catches a scent of where she's headed, which is great since she is ordinarily quiet during car rides. She has always come home cheerful and healthy, including yesterday. The staff is warm and inviting and are positively communicative (as needed). They explain that they try to pair the dogs in a thoughtful way for play and one staff member brings their own dog in to play with mine since they get along so well. SHPR is also part of a veterinarian practice which you don't need to be part of, and if we didn't already have a fabulous vet who we adore, this would be the place we'd go for vet service. It's comforting to know that if there was an issue she'd have access to vet care. I might possibly stir up extra competition for available slots for me with my review but I feel it's only fair.

1010 South Street, PittsfieldWe were visiting and saw the sign that we were in town just in time for the Friday/Saturday hours for Pittsfield Rye. We are so glad we stopped by because Ricky and Zena were so delightful.. and more importantly, we got four different half loaves and are so excited to try them all. As soon as we had the apple cinnamon raisin and the seeded rye, we knew it was going to be a great weekend. Spectacular bread!!

South Street Pizza House
148 South Street, PittsfieldWent on a motorcycle ride with my better half today to Mt. Greylock. On the way home we stopped here for a bite. I love eating at small mom & pop restaurants. We have never eaten here before but pizza is one of my favorite things to eat so we pulled into their parking lot and headed in. We ordered a small hamburger pizza and two beverages. $20.00 total. Ten minutes later a pipping hot pizza delivered to our table. It tasted great. The crust was perfect. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The pizza appeared to be a 10 inch pie. I really wish pizza shops would start at 12 inches and go up from there but this seems to be the trend everywhere. More importantly the pizza tasted great. if I am ever in the Pittsfield area I would definitely eat there again.
