“I stayed here the last two nights on my bucket list trip to Salem. They were amazing, the room was awesome and the whole place was beautiful and luxurious without breaking the bank. Bonus it’s right in the middle of Essex St so in the middle of everything, making walking around easy. I got here before check in so they held my bags while I explored and delivered them to my room when I checked in. The 2 ladies at the front desk the last 2 evenings were absolutely amazing and helpful, gave lots of suggestions on restaurants and things to do, they even gave me a map and directions! Would definitely recommend The Hotel Salem to anyone!”

“we stayed at the Salem Waterfront Hotel for three nights during our first visit to Salem in March.the only thing that leads to the 4-star instead of 5-star rating is the absence of morning coffee in the lobby. (but there are mints and chocolate, so there's that.)the pros, and there are no cons:1. the location is terrific. on the East side, very near the waterfront, and close to but away from the "bustle" of downtown. we walked everywhere we went in Salem;2. free parking, and plenty of it. 'nuff said.3. welcoming, friendly, and accommodating front desk staff. there was a problem with the heat in our room. I told the desk, and asked them to try to have it fixed while we were out for the day. they did, and they did.4. it's fairly priced, and very good value considering the size of the rooms, and the overall ambience and cleanliness, etc.5. unlike too many hotels, the room was roomy and nicely outfitted. enough seating, lamps, great TV, large, clean bathroom, plenty of towels, etc.6. quiet and peaceful - the lobby construction started the morning we left, and was not going on over the weekend.if/when we return (not during peak or October), we'd stay there again for sure.”
