“One of the best times I've ever had at a hotel, the rooms were so cozy, the Hotel itself is magnificent, and the amazing manager created such a beautiful experience for me and my partner. Would highly recommend this hotel it has a great breakfast, room heating, hospitality, and history.”

“Stayed here for two weeks in December and it was wonderful. The team that works here is incredibly gracious and helpful. The room was nice and cozy, I have back issues and the bed was comfy. The breakfast was tasty, they have a variety of options to choose from and their breakfast area is cute.
It’s right next to Essex street and shops. Parking can be a bit challenging but never had to park too far or felt that our rental car was in jeopardy (even when they were salting/shoveling the streets during snow).”

“I recently had a staycation weekend at The Salem Hotel and it was top notch all around from the staff, service, food and accommodations. Truly felt like home away from home and the room was so cute, clean and quiet. They have convenient water stations on the floors for rooms too and you can bring anything you are eating or drinking to your room (or get room delivery) which was so convenient!
They have a nice lounge area too decorated very cool and colorful!
The staff thought of everything to accommodate any requests and were so friendly and kind. I would highly recommend to anyone and the location is in the heart of of Salem close to all the shops, eateries and entertainment. The food was terrific too - I had breakfast lunch and dinner there and enjoyed it all! I har stayed a few places in Salem and this so by far my fave so far!”
“We are just back from a fantastic stay at Morning Glory B&B. Our host Bob left the keys for us to get settled when we arrived. We stayed in the Sarah Good room. The room had its own lounge area and bathroom. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. We also had our own heating controls so the room was never too hot or too cold.
Breakfast was a great time to have a chat with Bob who we absolutely loved. We put the world to rights around that table and he also had great tips for restaurants and places to visit. The only sad thing about the visit is that we never got to meet Willow but I understand that some guests maybe wouldn't want a dog in during Breakfast. The breakfast provided were absolutely gorgeous. I dont know how Bob does it! We also met a lovely couple from Chicago who were also staying. Its great to meet and chat to people from other countries/areas. So if you read this Bob, we loved our stay xx”

“My room was spacious and clean, immediately upon entry! The bed was super comfortable, the room service was quick and accessible, and the fridge came in handy! Plus, I loved all the towels we got. All of the staff were kind and inviting. So thankful for our stay.”
“Would have given a 5 star but the main reason we chose this hotel was that there was an indoor pool. After arriving, we found out that it was closed due to repairs. It was disappointing because the price was very good. The room and entire hotel was very cleaned and run very well. The breakfast was also good.”

“Stayed at this hotel due to a unforseen circumstance during traveling. I could not have asked for a better hotel stay after that horrible travel day! Comfiest bed I've ever slept in. Great bathroom and in-suite kitchen.
I would absolutely come and stay again. The staff was also very nice in helping me figure out how to use the shuttle to get back to the airport the next morning.
Breakfast was also amazing.
Overall great!”

“We stayed here for our trip to Boston/Salem/MV/Gloucester. The room was small but it was clean and the hotel was quiet. AC/heater was loud. If you are not planning to be in the room very much and are looking for a room with the basics, it was fine. It is not upscale nor is it low level. Staff could have been more friendly and welcoming when we arrived. Great proximity to the areas mentioned above. Nice photo op near the fountain.
Nearby activities: Quick drive to Salem, Boston, Gloucester and about 1& 1/2 hrs. to New Bedford for the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard.”
“Stayed for a week in 2023. Very comfortable and clean. Great breakfast every morning. Would like to stay in Summer 2024 but it says every week is booked online. Is that correct?”

“Our visit was during the week 1 night from out of state. Plenty of parking, great customer service, and the room was spacious and clean. Not too far from Boston Children’s Hospital just give yourself time for traffic. We would definitely stay again.”

“Extremely good value for staying in the Boston area. Our room was a good size and was very clean. Much happier than if we paid $200+ (and additional fee for nightly parking) for a brand name in a more congested area. The beach is maybe 100 yards away and is not crowded at all. Deer Island is just down the road and is nice for hiking. Running along the beach is also very nice early in the morning. Winthrop is a very nice town. Many local places to eat, very friendly residents. Most are doing a very good job with Covid precautions. Note limited parking, but parking on street worked ok as ordinances don't seem to be enforced strictly.
Orient Heights MBTA Blue Line station is a bit more than a mile away and has a large daily parking lot - very convenient for going in to Boston without taking the car.”
“Conveniently located, this Homewood Suites is updated and the staff was very helpful. I didn't use many of the services because I arrived late and was only staying for one night, however the front desk clerk was amazing. I would give it a five-star, however, the rug in the room had clearly not been vacuumed. There were what looks like crushed goldfish in the carpet and the residue of something that had been eaten on the ottoman in the living room. The most of the room was clean, it was clear that the upholstered furniture and the rug we're not vacuum before I came. Because of my late arrival and early leaving the next day I didn't report the issue, but it was gross.”
“We have had an excellent experience, we will be back! The suite was very clean, a lot of room to move around, the bed in the bedroom and pillows were excellent! The pullout couch is to be expected a six inch mattress not the most comfortable but it was do able for a few nights for a young adult. Having the kitchen was a game changer for our short trip, I don't think I'll ever get a hotel without one again for short trips. It was extremely nice to have snacks and drinks at our finger tips. Staff were super friendly and helpful. People complaining about noise in other reviews...maybe some other rude guest were making it miserable but we found it was normal noise you hear when staying in a hotel. Nothing to hold against the hotel. For being kind of close to the Highway it wasn't as loud as I expected; we're not in the country so you can't expect to have silence. It was just cars passing by sounds not loud motors or honking. Again... normal sounds you would expect to hear staying somewhere near a highway. The grounds are very well taken care of. Over all, loved this place! We will be back as soon as I can!”

“My husband and I stayed there for a night recently and the staff were very friendly, polite and eager to help. My only negative comment was regarding the restaurant that did not staff a bar tender and the cocktails were not great. Other than that, we were happy with it.”

“I see a lot of bad reviews of this Holiday Inn. I also read that it used to be a shelter ?. I always check the bed first for bedbugs, and nothing. Everything was very clean, staff was very nice, shower had good pressure, microwave, fridge, and tv's worked great. I felt completely safe, and even tried to get in at a side door that you could only get out of. No sketchy characters, no dirty hallway carpets, no bad smells, and every outlet worked. There were USB ports in every lamp (there were 4 in the room), and the temperature control was great. I would recommend this hotel. I feel like it got a bad name. Maybe they worked on everything that everyone complained about, and that's why it's better. I would stay here again whenever my husband's band plays in Beverly. My husband is a diamond elite member as well have stayed in these hotels all over the country. Never a problem. We were in room 403.”
“Rooms are clean and beds/pillows are comfortable. Pool is small, but nice. Short drive into downtown Boston. Given all that, I think the hotel is very reasonably-priced!”
“We had a fantastic time visiting Salem, this motel is only about 10 minutes from Salem. And about half the price of staying in town. We stayed at this hotel with our two little ones, ages 1 and 3! I was pleasantly surprised by how modern and nicely decorated the rooms were. There was plenty of space for our pack 'n play, and our three-year-old loved having room to play around. The closet provided ample storage, and the large private bathroom with a tub was definitely a plus. when you have kids!
The location is convenient, being close to everything, and having a private entrance and parking spot in front of the room made it easy to order food from DoorDash or Grubhub.
It was remarkably quiet during our stay, (we were pleasantly surprised, because it is near the highway) and the owners have rules and keep he place safe (The is a whole list of ID's hanging up of people they will not rent rooms to). Even though the hotel is near the highway, the room was well-insulated, so we didn’t notice any traffic noise much at all, with the heat on. I appreciated being able to adjust the air conditioning and heating to our liking. Additionally, the large mini fridge was very handy for keeping snacks, milk and other drinks for the kids!
We chose this hotel for its proximity to Salem, which is only about 10 minutes away, and we can’t wait to come back and stay here again nest year!”
“I had a really pleasant stay! The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Perfect for a quick getaway or a night on the road!”
“The rooms are a little dated, but it seemed like upgrades were in the works. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall it was a great place to stay and a great place. Very central to all locations in Salem and the surrounding area.”
“We had our elopement wedding ceremony at the Harbor Light Inn and it was everything we could have hoped for and more. The rooms were spacious and warm, and the staff was so understanding and helpful! We loved seeing the history of the buildings and the location in the historic center of Marble Head can’t be beat.”
