“This review is for those considering service plans offered by some of the big names like Best Buy.
My wife and I went with Best Buy about four years ago. Used them a few times since then. The last time was a few weeks ago with my HP ENVY laptop. It was booting up and operating slowly. A Best Buy service person took control of the laptop via cyberspace, did a few things and it worked fine for a short period of time until recently when it became unusable. I took it to Somerville computers and left it with Mario overnight. We communicated two times by phone. In the end, he backed up files, replaced the Windows operating system (which had damaged files) and replaced it with the most recent version. He also uploaded Microsoft Outlook. I had email back along with my high speed laptop for a very reasonable price.
The bottom line is this; the big guys can have talented folks but in general you luck out when you actually get one. Why not go to a local guy who by all reviews is highly experienced and reasonable? Like most good things nowadays, stay local, buy local.”

They were quick, diagnosing the problem and fixing it same day, and were extremely understanding of my financial situation, being flexible enough to allow me to find a way to pay for everything. It might still be expensive for someone poverty level like me, but for this level of service and care, you probably won't find anything better for the price”
“I went to Chris about my laptop that was a little over 11 years old. I was just trying to determine if it was time to retire it and get a new one or if it could be overhauled for some more life. He's an awsome guy and knows his stuff. He's fairly priced and the only reason I didn't have him work on the laptop was to no fault of his. It just made more sense to put that money towards the next laptop. He was also more than happy to let me pick his brain on some specs for my next laptop, and If I have any issues in the future I know exactly who to go to. Would highly recomend.”

“Following mixed experience @ Apple North Park Dallas this was wonderful. North Park Dallas was over scheduled & jam packed the day I picked up my new iPhone 17 Pro Max & Ultra 3 watch. And for some reason they were unable to process trade ins. They were unable to activate new watch on Verizon. Plus they failed to email receipt for accessories I bought. So I schlepped old iPhone 16 & Ultra 2 back home and stopped by Apple Chestnut Hill the following week. Chestnut Hill Store Associate Joey took care of the trades seamlessly. He even helped me return an extra case [Joey found the purchase using my Apple Card.]. While there I dropped my old iMac for secure recycling. In and out in 20 minutes; world-class Apple experience. “Let me begin by saying that Somerville Computers deserves 5+ Stars for being an excellent Computer Repair Store and Mario, who is the CEO of the place deserves 10+ Stars for being the best "Computer Wizard" in Massachusetts! Mario is also a wonderful, kind and gracious person and I had the good fortune of meeting him last year when I had problems with my Hard drive and was desperate for help. Mario put my fears to rest and fixed the problem and also gave me good advice on the maintenance of my computer. I had a similar problem yesterday and went into the store and received excellent help. Apparently Mario is quite famous locally, as during my cab drive home the Cab Driver informed me that Mario is very well known and respected throughout Somerville for his above average Computer services - So Thank you Mario for being such a Valuable Asset to the City of Somerville!”
