“Outstanding customer service. I needed help to look for an item - an associate stoped what he was working on to help look for that and check the system for inventory. Unfortunately the item has been out of stock. He also gave me a target restock date and that was additionally helpful!”

“The isles are cramped, the parking lot is busy and the customers and plentiful, but Market Basket delivers every time and the Somerville Ave location is no different. The shelves are stocked high and the prices are low. There is a large and varied selection of everyday and speciality goods at this location, including staple ingredients for Thai, Chinese, Mexican and other varied cuisines. The produce is always solid and they stock such a wide variety of products that for speciality ingredients, I typically check Market Basket first.

There is no self checkout and the friendly cashiers and baggers will assist in paying for your groceries. I recommend coming early in the morning or later at night for a less busy shopping experience. Favorite grocery store.

Thanks!”

“Affordable, convenient, and great selection of produce. There is also an area where you can buy dried goods in bulk, bring your own container or use one of the containers at the store.”

“I've lived near this store for 3 years and it's perfect for every essential shopping need. They have kitchen & bathroom items, vegetables & fruit, juice & milk, and impulse buys & planned purchases. It's easy to call ahead and check if they have something too. They're the perfect corner store. I highly recommend shopping here.”

“I found this shop recently and I am simply surprised by the kind of collection they have got in the store. A literal one stop shop. Though I would have loved to see some more options in Green Vegetables! Was very happy with the customer service.”

“As a Californian, this place has all the essential Latin American goods. You can get essential spices for Latin American dishes, quick meats to cook, a variety of cheeses, and even a little bit of essential produce (e.g. tomatoes, cilantro, squash, and more). A great place for Latin American snacks and bread too! Being in Boston as a Mexican American made me a little sad until I ran into this place...feels like a little piece of home.”

“Had a great experience getting grab-and-go premade foods from this HMart! Of what we got, the highlight was the crab cakes. It was more of an egg omelet cooked with some crab rather than a lump of mostly crab meat, but it was soft, savory, and delicious. The kimbap was also delicious and was restaurant quality for less than restaurant prices. Unlike the Central Square location, this HMart does not have a Paris Baguette inside or a seating area in the front, so you'll need to take your grab-and-go items somewhere else to eat. The variety of items was about the same though, with premade korean foods, premade sushi and sashimi, and many aisles of Asian frozen foods, produce, and packaged foods. I would definitely come back here again!”

“Did someone just say Capone's, Clear Flour Bread and cheeses in one sentence? What are you doing reading this - GO NOW. The pasta that Al - yes, his name really is Al Capone - makes is served in most of the high end and North End eateries. Here you can take it home frozen with any number of to die for sauces, throw in some garlickly shrimp, add that bread, wine to match, a candle and company. uuummh...you'll be loved and lovin it. GO.....read no more GO.”

“Went here once. They have a big selection of food and snacks. Lots of drinks, candy and canned food. A lot of the tough guys like to go there. It was a bit of a wait to pay for my stuff. I don't recall any cheap deals.”

“This is a phenomenal little store. It literally has everything a grocery store would have except meat. If you ever need anything, Tufts Market probably has it. Cannot speak highly enough of this little establishment. It’s incredible how much they do with this space. An asset to Ball Square.”

“Boy what a lot I'll tell you what. I went here with my car recently and they sure had a blast sitting in a spot. When I came back after shopping, they were still there enjoying the parking spot. I had to beg them just to take me home and leave the spot.”

“I love this place. The staff is super friendly and always takes time to chat a bit. They have a variety of food and other staples to pick from. As a non-Latino, I really like trying the snacks that have Spanish names. I'm halfway through the different types of chips and they're all great!”

“Had to find some ingredients that I couldn't find at Wegmans or Star Market, ended up getting a few cheeses, spices, dried chilis and tortillas. The guy behind the register helped me out. Highly recommend!”

“This store is always clean and has many good options. The reason biggest reason I keep going there is the people. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Always giving service with a smile!”

“Not a bad convenience store. They have the entire Goya collection for sale, basically the entire Goya aisle at market basket squeezed into this little store. Good selection of drinks and junk food.fresh fruit and veggies as well, and South American baked goods. Open til 10 pm, which is pretty cool. Solid neighborhood spot.”

“They have the best frozen foods I've ever had (it's difficult for me to say that I like ANY frozen food!). Although the instructions say to use the microwave, I heated the food up on the stove, resulting in savory dishes that taste like they're from a restaurant. I'll be back!”

“I've lived in a bunch of different Boston neighborhoods over the past few years & this is by far the best convenience store I've ever lived near. The owner is wicked nice and always makes you feel welcome. I usually go for Ben and Jerry's or a Polar seltzer (they have a huge variety of flavors for both) & once in a while some basic grocery stuff if I don't feel like walking to the grocery store. They always have everything I need. Ill be sad when I move away!”

“I can always get in and out of this store quickly. It's great for picking up a few things. The prices are a little higher, but the convenience is worth it.”

“The store is a perfectly fine grocery store. Reasonably clean. Decent selection. Good service. For any Stop & Shop management reading this... the reason I come to this store is that you have the EV chargers outside. The convenience to charge while shopping is great. I wouldn't be at this store otherwise... and I'd have given you 5 stars if you had more chargers (since at times I've had to wait and that defeats the whole purpose to come there). Also, suggest you expand your anti-theft radius on the shopping carts by another 10 yards... they tend to lock up just short of the charging stations.”

“Conveniently located with friendly cashiers and most things I need, so I like to shop here. However, I have been sold some items that were WAY past their expiration date, so I've had to be more vigilant.”

“I usually shop there. Mostly out of convince.Prices are fair, but I find the variety lacking. The deli/prepared food section has gone through a significant improvement in the summer of 2023.”
