“I have loved the Odyssey since 1983, before the fires, when Romeo was still alive. They still carry a great variety of interesting books. They still will cheerfully order books for you.A staffer noticed that I was having trouble with the stairs, and stopped to tell me where the elevator was. We had a nice little chat.It is the kind of bookstore where folks notice what books you are buying and will start interesting conversations.Lots of MHC stuff, too.Was surprised that my name is still in their computer (had an account as a student there, always come in on the rare occasions I'm back on campus and was one of the alums who went out of the way to order books from them during the worst of the pandemic). Not only that, there was a coupon there for me.The Odyssey is an institution. I hope it keeps going strong for another 60 years and more.”

“I love Barnes and Noble and this one in Holyoke compared to one I Hadley is far better. A lot of people in this one vs the one in Hadley which was very very quiet and barely anyone. Fully stocked on everything again unlike the one in Hadley. Would definitely travel the distance to come to this one vs the one in Hadley This location has an excellent selection of just about everything from (of course) books, Legos, funko pops, stuffed animals, puzzles, pusheen and kids toys.”

“My son is a student at UMass-Amherst and recommended this bookstore to me when I visited him. What a classic used-book store! Nothing but books, books, books. Very quiet. Very extensive collection of both commonly found used books and some very uncommon ones, include some nice collections. I highly recommend! And I will be back.”

“Nice bookstore and atmosphere. But if I may, please update your information and let people know that you’re not a book buyer, and please don’t refer anyone to other places if they ask where and spare people the run-around, especially when the store you guys recommended is also not a buyer.”

“Just bought a signed copy of Drinking From Graveyard Wells! Very lucky to snag the last copy. The vendor was very nice. They are very serious about excellent shipping services. They shipped it in hard cardboard envelope instead of a soft envelope with padding which prevents damage, which my local bookstore does not do. Also, I bought seven textbooks for a good grand total. I also like their used section. They were also kind to put my book in a paper shopping bag. Love it here! Shop here and local instead of Barnes and Noble. BN does not match the same professional standards as this bookstore.”

“I came here Sunday, I think 3/10, to visit and get some pins to benefit the SMA. Walking in, I'm very thankful this store asks patrons to mask, and also provides masks. I also love the antizionist vibes and the Palestinian literature recommendations. If you love to hunt while you thrift, this place is the best. The selection is varied, and I found manga, Shakespeare, anarchist, etc literature available. I got the pins I was looking forward to, and stickers. For everything together in price - I found them to be extremely reasonable. I will definitely come again, and next time try to bring my friends :3”

“Reader to reader has been one of many favorite book donation sites for all walks of life can gain free access to free books. Never Ever waste a book for within its bindings lies someone's great story, to inspire or to delight, to learn, read through another's eyes. Books are better when shared.”

“I have been shopping here for years. It's one of the only used book stores still around locally. It is owner-operated and friendly. There are a lot of gems but you do need to spend the time to look through the many books, but that's the fun and relaxing part. There's ample off-street parking and you can pay with debit card. I hope they stay in business for many years to come.”

“Great college bookstore. Useful supplies without wearing out the ole purse strings. The mechanical pencil section is beyond adequate with several graphite gauges, erasers, et cetera.Love the merch! We obtained several shirts and hot beverage containers --- all way less expensive than attending school there, and much easier to get in. You simply pull the door open.”
