“Sept2022: 4⭐: I stopped by this location to get some fuel because I had a fuel savings reward card and this was the first Shell station I had come across in this area since I've been here taking care of my father. This area was accessible with multiple entry exits large enough for big trucks to get in and out of to include box trucks. There is a convenience store here that has a friendly clerk inside. Now that I know this location is here, this will be my permanent fueling stop while I'm visiting this area. During my visit there weren't too many vehicles in this area.”

Pro-tip #1: towards the end of the month, the line to get an inspection wraps around the gas pumps, so you'll be waiting a while. Get your inspection early in the month. Pro-tip #2: inspections are cash only.”

“Here is my long-overdue excellent review of father and son duo John and Kosta at JD Auto on Newton St in Chestnut Hill— the best car mechanic at the best price. My family and I have been clients of JD Auto for decades and we have always been extremely happy with the care and skill they put into their work and into their relationships with their clients. They are a many decades long-running ethical family business and their mechanics have worked there for decades too. JD Auto regularly wins Best of Boston awards, including in 2025. They are truly honest and don’t overcharge. They will always show me what needs fixing so that I can see for myself and I can trust that I’m not being ripped off. I’ve sent many friends to JD Auto, and friends have told me that they were happy with the work and prices— they were quoted thousands of dollars more at other mechanics, told they needed work done that JD Auto said wasn’t necessary or worth their money to get done. In other words, John and Kosta at JD Auto will only suggest necessary repairs and they will save you lots of money. Additionally, John and Kosta seriously go above and beyond to help their clients. This week, I needed a starter for my old car and the starter was back ordered through February, which was months from now (it’s August now). John called every vendor he knew, without any luck. Any other mechanic would’ve told me “I tried but I can’t find the part you need. Tough luck.” But not John. John continued trying to help me. He sent his mechanic for a needle in the haystack kind of job, to find the starter for a 2013 Mazda at a parts shop. He found the correct part somehow, and I had my car back fixed within hours. I sent an email last evening, had a reply first thing this AM. They had me bring the car in, ordered the parts, and I was done by 12:30pm. Plus added an oil change as well. Fantastic service, very professional, and highly recommended!”

Work was done before the end of the day for a very reasonable price, and I think they actually fixed something else wrong with my engine because it was no longer making a strange idling sound when I picked it up. When anyone brings their car into a shop to be repaired, they expect whoever they talk to to get straight to the point. And they expect follow-up phone calls with updates. I found that's exactly what I could expect when I went to Stoneham Auto Works and talked to Mike in person and over the phone.

Came in to fix suspension and parking brake shoes and he ended up also changing service brakes and rotors for very reasonable additional price. “Mike’s Gas is absolutely my favorite place to get our cars repaired. Wadi, Tony and Jacob are not only very competent, but also good people who care with every interaction.
Today, I went to get some gas and air for a tire. After adding air, Wadi heard air hissing from the tire and investigated it instead of letting me go. He ended up jacking the car up at the pump and finding what turned out to be a big leak and plugged it. He could have easily let me go on my way. Instead he spent the time on this cold day to prevent me from having a flat tire on a road or highway.
Last time, Tony and Jacob were amazing as they checked out and worked on our car, and telling us to hold off on some work for now. Very grateful for their helpful advice over the r years. Thanks Wadi, Tony and Jacob!”

“I had a nail in one of the tires on the work vehicle. I am unfortunately obligated by work to take the car to their place to be fixed however I needed air till I get there. A white man with dark blonde hair was so kind and professional about it. He added air to all tires and pointed out to where the nail was. This interaction took place sometime in the winter. I was poorly dressed and exhausted after a medical shift. I asked if I can pay for the air and he refused. I highly recommend the services here.”

I’ve come to enjoy this place completely, whether I’m grabbing my coffee, filling up my tank, or just passing through on a busy morning.”

“Sept2022: 5⭐:I would recommend this fuel station and this worker at this time. I stopped by this location to get some fuel. This location was also closer to the house than some of the other locations when I was searching for a station to top off my Dad's truck. I've been running errands for the family since I've been here and I've used quite a bit of fuel and Daddy's gas guzzler. Not wanting to leave my Dad's truck on empty, I decided to top off here at this station. The price for gas at this station was very competitive versus the ones that were in the immediate area of my parent's residence. The cash price was also lower than other stations I found in the area. I decided to go into the market front and take a look around as I pay for my fuel. The worker behind the counter was wearing a mask and seemed friendly enough. The store appears to be orderly and clean while I was there. There's a way to pull in and fuel from the left side or the right side of your vehicle.”

And you don't see many of those anymore.And several mechanics on duty.And a very nice selection of pre-owned cars and trucks I would recommend this place to anyone needing gasoline a car or truck fixed or even to purchase a vehicle a good solid group of gentlemen”
