“I recently dined at the Lithuanian Kitchen, located within the South Boston Lithuanian Citizens’ Association, and it was a delightful experience. As someone of Lithuanian descent, the traditional dishes served here truly felt like comfort food, reminiscent of family gatherings. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the community. While the kitchen operates with limited hours, typically open on select Sundays, it’s well worth planning a visit. The authenticity and quality of the food make it a must-visit spot for anyone seeking a taste of Lithuanian cuisine in Boston.”
“I have given the Hanover MA Location a five star rating based upon the fact that it fully embraces the Y philosophy and has diverse programs that are available to all as part of the membership fee. There is one deficit that needs to be reported. I tried to arrange for a trainer and was told by front desk staff that they would not disclose the trainers available to assist. I was given the contact information for a Ms. Sousa and told she chooses who to assign. I emailed her and she did not extend the courtesy of a reply. I ultimately found a trainer at the Weymouth Club where they share the credentials of all available for training and they, unlike Ms. Sousa answer their emails. If you need a personal trainer, avoid the Emilson Y. I recommend the Weymouth Club.”
“This a must visit location. Take your time and attend all the sessions. Edward Kennedy left his legacy in this building. The staff members are so professional and knowledgeable.”
“Beautiful gallery and event space that is bright, great audio visual setup and amazing staff to work with. Definitely drop by for a visit or come to their community events.”
“TCC is a hidden gem that ought to be replicated throughout. I rarely write reviews but TCC deserves my time. Our original daycare called us 4 weeks prior to our start date telling us that they had to delay our start by a month. At that point, my wife and I had just about used up all of our leave.
In the midst of exhaustively panic-dialing every child care center between Metrowest and Boston, I reached TCC and was greeted by a dedicated admin and one of the directors of the center who, after pleading my case for what felt like the millionth time, was able slot our first born in with no interruption our family’s plan to return to work.
But leaving your child with teachers who initially feel like strangers, is scary. We were glad in no time our child was making friends, exploring new things and developing so well! It’s apparent the teachers care for the children with their entire heart and soul. They know when your child’s having good days or bad days and whether they’re off and probably even why.
Fast forward two years, our first born became a big sister 10 weeks early. Despite all the associated craziness going on at home at the time, TCC was a rock for her and the constant she was able to count on. The teachers were so understanding and made a chaotic time much easier.
When our second child was ready to start school, at this point developmentally earlier, we had no reservations. We knew she was going to be a super star like her big sister.
It’s with my rare recommendation that I say your children can be super stars too. It’s from our observations that the individual classrooms are usually staffed better than the state-mandated ratios. This is important because we think this helps the teachers give your children the attention they deserve and it also keeps them from getting burned out.
Another thing is to take your child’s evaluations to heart. We found that the teacher’s observations were usually in line with what we observed at home. Collaborate, coordinate, and try to reinforce what they are doing at school and you will see quickly see changes in your child. We once got a term-paper of various things we can try for our child’s development after we were promised just a “few notes” during an assessment!
We cannot overemphasis how much it shows that entire center cares and loves the children and wants them to reach their fullest potential.”
“I, have been visiting, this Salvation Army, on Washington Street, here in Boston, MA, for many years. There, is more than one, Salvation Army location, in Boston, MA. This Washington street, Salvation Army, has a food bank, can provide a clothing voucher for Goodwill, and sometimes has other items available, like suitcases, and clothing. This Salvation Army food bank, has kept me, fed, and living better, with generous amounts, on non-perishable foods, for a number of years, and their services, are available, to others, who are poor, and/or, completely homeless-as, I am. “Made a vehicle donation to these folks. Terrific people who do God's work on Earth. It was a honor for me to donate a vehicle to these people so that they can do their good work. The satisfaction is better than any money I could have made from a private sale...Please consider donating to THE MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION.”
“It was fantastic watching the annual Chinatown New Year celebration this year (2023) since having missed in these last several years due to covid pandemic. The people were lively and so much fun. The major of Boston Michelle Wu was there too.”
“Hill House is great. My daughter loved her sessions at Day Camp and can't wait to come back next year! They offer a ton of year round classes, dance, art, music, sports and more for children of all ages. Looking forward to more fun at Hill House.”
“Wonderful shop and people! We appreciate Steve and his wife going above and beyond to not only help us but also the many crewmen that pass by. Everyone we had talked with spoke highly of this store. Thank you for everything!”
“Although Wellspring is relatively small, they are packed with amazing items at amazing prices where most other places would charge more. It's clean, well organized and has every category of items you can think of. The staff was kind and helpful. My wife still regrets not getting that large square, Italy-made, flowered platter by the window. Can you mail it to us? ?? This is one place we will revisit when staying in Hull.”
“I was scared to do this test, honestly. It seemed very serious and I was concerned but completely stuck after college & desperately needed help. Let me just say Lee is amazing. I felt like i was on the verge of tears & Lee made me feel very comfortable & I was actually able to enjoy my session.
Try to make a weekend/trip out of this & come to this location. AWESOME i mean, just awesome historical building. Fun to walk around too, I grabbed lunch during the break ?.
To add, this would be an incredible & life altering gift to give someone, especially a junior in highschool or after graduating. But keep in mind they can interpret the results to all stages of life.
Having the words & ability to clearly explain your strengths & weaknesses (which they explain to u) is so valuable. Gives you rock strong resume. This test is great, recommend 1000%!!!”
“The Boston PIC helps support youth build professional skills that will help them become successful. They do a great job of getting young people in High School internships to build experience as they start thinking about college. The offer so much support, we need more organizations like the Boston PIC.”
“Reached out to New England Herpetological Society about finding a new home for our turtles. Spoke to the adoption coordinator and was able to find time this weekend to meet up and drop the turtles off at the animal shelter parking lot. Will definitely follow up to see how the turtles do in the weeks to come. I'm glad that such an organization exists in Massachusetts.
PS Not sure about the previous comment about the drop off being in a dangerous city/location? Not my experience at all. But the fact that the MSPCA recommended them put me at ease.”
