“Just came for lunch at their restaurant cos I heard the food was good and it REALLY IS. Great portion sizes and fresh ingredients. We were laughing at the size of their Walleye sandwich, it was bigger than my friends head. The pita bread was delicious. My burrata salad was the only dish that was mediocre, hence the 4 stars.”

“Stayed two nights and wish we had more time to enjoy this historic Inn and it's surroundings. The setting is peaceful with a pretty water view of the lake. The owners are incredibly kind, friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the history of the Inn and it's prior owners. We had a comfortable stay and enjoyed viewing the carefully chosen antiques around the property and reading stories about past owners. The location is convenient to the peninsula lighthouse, numerous vineyards, and orchards, as well as a short scenic drive to downtown.”

“Can’t beat this great location with easy proximity to the wineries, beaches, and downtown traverse city. It is easy to park and get in and out, I appreciate the small touches here such as a free nice latte machine in the lobby and cookies at 6pm that are complimentary. It’s also wonderful there is an indoor pool available 24 hours (not super heated but comfortable) and the location feels safe and secure. The rooms are decently spacious and have a mini fridge. I also liked the breakfast which is available until 10pm. The waffle maker even had two flavors banana nut and regular! Note this hotel is pet friendly and there is a nice side walk right outside the hotel. I appreciated that it wasn’t a noisy hotel/ rooms seem decently sound proofed so you don’t hear guest traffic all the time, even though our room was next door to a room with a dog.
Rooms: Rooms are decently spacious and have a good number of outlets, also has a mini fridge! The shower/ bathroom is a good size and I like the pharmacopeia toiletries. TVs are a little small and while cable is there, there is no guide to search for your favorite show.
Safety: Felt safe and secure in these rooms and area seemed safe.
Walkability: Sidewalk right outside the hotel which makes it easy to go walk wherever you want to. Could still be at least 1.5 miles walking though each way to downtown traverse city.
Noteworthy details: Appreciate the free latte maker in the lobby and complimentary cookie at 6 pm and 24 hour indoor pool.”

“Usually I would not stay at a Choice hotel, but after reading the reviews I figured that I would take a chance. This hotel does not disappoint. Brand new everything.... modern, clean, efficient and kind staff. Well worth it.”

“Recently stayed in Cabin 9 for a family vacation. The setting is absolutely gorgeous and even though all other cabins on the property were rented by a very large and active group, cabin 9 was very peaceful, however that quiet comes at the expense of a very limited view of the lake. The property is extremely well maintained and has a good amount of amenities. The beach area is well kept and the swimming area at the property has a predominantly soft sandy bottom. The newer pontoon boats are very well maintained and extremely comfortable for a day out on the lake, in addition I really loved that renting a tube is an option and the on site kyacks that are open for resort guest use. The owners truly thought of anything and everything.
The reason for four stars instead of five is for cabin #9 itself. I'm sure this isn't an issue for most but but I haven't seen my concerns brought up in any other reviews and thought this feedback could be useful for any families considering staying in Cabin #9. The upstairs bedrooms seemed to be a later addition to this unit, it seems to be an attic conversion. There is no HVAC in either of the upstairs bedrooms which made these rooms very stuffy and warm during our stay. The owner or manager was on the spot with providing fans but it didn't do much to reduce how warm these rooms are. Also, for anyone staying with small kids or unsteady older adults, there is no bathroom on the upper floor and to reach the bathroom you have to walk down a rattly spiral staircase, which in the middle of the night can be dangerous or could wake up other guests in the home. We also cooked most nights and found all the knives to be dull (but this a constant with most vacation rentals in my experience). We also had to give the grill a very thorough scrub before use but again, this isn't something I'd count against the resort, but rather, something to just keep on your radar.
Overall this is a beautiful place that's been immaculately maintained, family friendly and pride in the ownership of this resort really reflects. I would definitely stay here again given the opportunity.... But maybe not upstairs in cabin #9.”
“This place is a gem! The people are awesome! Great selection of goods, they have a little bit of everything here! I go out of my way to shop here. Jack and team are the best! I love Courtades Trading Center”
“I sign up and earn free play and even was able to get a free gift by earning enough points. Didn't even matter that I was new there. I went home with money.”
“Grand Traverse Resort and Spa is an excellent getaway just about 15 minutes from downtown Traverse City. The setting is beautiful, the resort grounds are top-notch, and it’s perfect for golfing or even a wedding destination. I would highly recommend staying here.”
