“Great option for the community with a small town vibe and big city offerings. I reside 30 minutes south and was on my way to visit family that resided near Vinckier's. It was Rib fest time so I dropped in to purchase 2 slabs of Vinckier's BBQ ribs to take to my family up the road. When I say the meat was top quality and they were cooked to perfection, I sure do mean it as nothing but rib bones were left after our meal. Inside, to the left is the Ace Hardware offerings and to the right, the main portion of the building is the grocery store. The store was clean, the isles were wide and clear. They offered everything you could need from dairy products, to meat at the deli, greeting cards, paper towels, frozen foods, etc. Need a hammer, bird seed or flannel shirt, just head to the hardware section. The store personnel are so very kind, professional and helpful. I was able to check out in a swift, orderly fashion. Some of the prices can be on the high side but that is the norm and price to pay for shipping and supplying a small town, further-down-the-road store. Support your local community and shop at Vinckier's, they have stores in Almont, Armada, Yale and Kimball, MI”

“This place is really organizedLocated on black corners RdAs truck driver you will enter gate one check in with the gard shak he will inspect then send you to scale to right stop and go to the office to the left check with ladies then they will give you dock number at gate 5 to the right across from the scale back in turn off ur truck and you have to be out of the truck.Once ur done you will go back to the scale then collect your paperwork.”

“Last night I went into the Almont Dollar General store and there was only one person in there. I was there for few minutes and all these customers kept coming in. When I was there, I was surprised to see most of the shelves were stocked, no full carts of merchandise on the floor like most of the time, floors were cleaned, and more. I was surprised to see they got people who care about the place. Also, one of the employees who worked there who was a really good person was let go because of something that happened and it could have happened to anybody if you work in retail. I think the company should give this person another try at Dollar General. How did this person know that is was going to happen. Nobody does know or if it does happen because we are all not perfect. Also when we were there there was two young guys there and they were very helpful. These two guys are there most of the time. The one with the long hair is very nice and helpful should be Assistant Manager to the Almont Dollar General store and the other guy should be Key Holder. These guys work very hard when every time we come to the store. I think Dollar General should make these guys these positions right away because hard working people are hard to come by. The following guys that were nice and professional when we were there was Declan and Nather. They were great last night.”
Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.
Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
