“This is the kind of place you should visit monthly, because they have deals and new styles all the time. Some of these shoes are samples of shoes that either didn't make the cut or are left from the preview's year. They have great accommodations for you to try their shoes, walk on them throughout the store and determine if they work for you! I love the Chaco and Merrell brands, they even carry clothing according to the season and, a couple of times a year, they have tent sales where you can get a buy one, get two pairs at 50%! If you sign up for emails, sometimes you get coupons to use on top of their sales. Although I haven't seen a coupon in a while. Still, they have Chaco sandals and shoes, which are super comfortable and versatile, and should be your go-to shoes for traveling. Winter calls for comfortable boots, easy to slip on, and they last forever! Last year, their Sperry brand had great rain booties that are both strong, comfortable, and cute. The staff is always friendly and will do whatever they can to make sure you get a great deal on your purchase. My favorite part is how they were happy to ship shoes to another state for free. It was a birthday present for my brother in law and, honestly I thought it was going to be a mess because I paid for the shoes, gave them the address and left. Only with the receipt of the shoes, no proof of mailing. Sure enough, my brother in law received his shoes three days later. I am grateful this business is trustworthy, helpful, and also fun! I love trying shoes!”

“My wife and I were heading to a wedding when I realized I HAD NO SHOES TO MATCH MY SUIT. I would have showed up looking like a fool. On the way to the wedding we found this store on google. Walked in and was immediately greeted. That right there is a good sign. One of the employees named Doug helped us out. This man was honest, kind, and extremely helpful. He knew immediately which shoe would complete my outfit. He even got me a pair of socks to go with them. Doug provided great service and helped put my shoe on and take it off every time. It was a great experience and I was happy I stopped by.”

“I had been a regular customer of WHBM for many years. I moved to Northern Michigan and retired, so no longer needed dressy/professional clothing. My mom passed away last week in GR and I needed a dress for her funeral. I first went to Macy’s and found that there were limited dressing rooms available and very long lines. I didn’t have time to wait. It dawned on me that WHBM is now in Woodland Mall. I walked into the store and Susan, the store manager, remembered me. She totally “styled” me. I cannot tell you how much that experience meant to me. Department stores cannot provide personal, knowledgeable attention from someone who knows their collection and what will work for you as an individual. I am firmly back in the WHBM fold whenever I am in GR. The clothing is beautiful and if you need a special piece, this is the place to go. Again, thank you Susan! You made my day!”

Recent SNKR drops in stock with multiple styles. This is a must stop for sneaker-heads. Only issue parking can be difficult to find on weekends and at busy times.”

“Walked in around 5 p.m. The man and woman were very kind, friendly and welcoming. They both took the time to help find a proper pair of shoes, being that I will be on my feet for 12-16 hours shifts. They both seemed to genuinely care about making sure I had the right fit, even though I wasn't able to get adult shoes, they found the perfect pair of kids shoes that are quite comfortable, and cute! My heel does not pop out of the back of the shoe, nor does it rub which would only cause blisters. My toes are not smashed against the front either. Perfect amount of space, perfect fit. I've just moved to the area, and have had a heck of a time finding scrubs. I say this because they were even kind enough to help me find a different location to get scrubs, because every place I had been today either didn't have any, or not the correct size. Super friendly, kind, caring and compassionate folks. I'll definitely be back. Thanks again you two!!! I'm just sorry I didn't get their names.”
