“I visit this Dollar General almost every time I am visiting family in Decatur. It is the cleanest, organized and well stocked Dollar General I have ever visited. The staff is always helpful and courteous. I would especially like to recognize the manager Angela(who seems to be working every time I go). She is the sweetest, most helpful and knowledgeable gal. Hardworking employees are sometimes difficult to come by. I’m always happy to see her knowing the service will be pleasant and absolutely impeccable.”
“I’m going to preface this review by saying I didn’t order anything here, however when I think of a small town joint that does it’s best to not do wrong with their customers, with local food that’s unique to the town it’s in, this place is 100% what I would think of. Atmosphere is great, and the food smelled amazing”
“Shout out to their amazing worker Robert. I accidentally sent money to the wrong card before going shopping. I had almost $200 of groceries in my cart and was absolutely humiliated when my card was declined. I was already having a really bad day and just broke down right there and then. He was absolutely amazing walking me through my break down and told me he could hold the cart for 20 minutes. That was all I needed I ran home got the money to the correct place and came back. True to his word he held my cart for me and was ready and still extremely sweet and understanding when I came back. I already talked to the manager and told him how amazing Robert is but wanted everyone else to know as well!!!”
“This is a very nice and clean store. It has come a long way. The vegetables and fruit are not the best selection, but if you need something quick to eat that day or the next for sure buy. The staff is a hit and miss with manners. The manager (male) is very nice and works hard in keeping the store look organized and clean, so my hat is off to him. I gave a four star due to mannerism.”
“Good old-fashioned country store gas station. They're Chester's Chicken can be very good to outstanding. Their combo boxes you can't beat. Got three big pieces of potato wedges, two big pieces of chicken, plus a biscuit plus a 20 oz fountain drink out the door for $6.99 looking something different than fast, stop here and get it to goPretty nice friendly staff.The only downfall is the bathrooms need to be touched up more.”
“Family Fare in Paw Paw is my go-to spot for weekly groceries. The store is always clean and well-organized, which makes shopping a breeze. They have a great selection of fresh produce, and I can usually find everything on my list. What really stands out is the staff – they're consistently friendly and helpful, from the people stocking shelves to the cashiers. It’s nice to have a reliable grocery store with a pleasant atmosphere right in town.”
“Haven't been in this place since I was a kid but it looks identical. This isn't a bad thing they still have a great selection of food and even some stuff you can't find elsewhere”
“My wife was sent home from the ER and a prescription was phoned in. When I called, they were near closing but they could rush fill the prescription but I needed to hurry. I rushed but arrived after closing. The staff were on the way to turn in their registers but one staffer heard my groans of dismay and came back to make sure I got the med. Her name was Alicia and she really was kind and inconvenienced herself to give service that was truly above and beyond. Thank you Alicia and thank you Walmart.”
“Been going there for 20 years. Pizza quality is debatable - not great pizza - but it’s better than you might expect looking at the place - and it’s a great location for a lot of people. Prices have gone up significantly - but they have everywhere - and you’re definitely paying for the convenience of not having to drive to Lawton or Paw Paw.”
“Owned and operated by a local Dowagiac family. I personally love their meat and cheese trays for events and special occasions. My wife is a huge fan of their sandwiches too.”
“Staff is always overly friendly and helpful, no matter how busy they are! I accidentally left my purse on a shelf there and didn't realize it for several days. They had my purse in a safe with everything inside of it, including the cash. I'm still in shock and SO appreciative!”
“Anytime you have a store with so many items in such a small place it can be a nightmare finding what you need. Wanted to give a shoutout to Shaina, for helping out. Was in a hurry and she dropped what she was doing and found everything our list in what felt like a minute. Knew the place like the back of her hand. Thanks for all the help!”
“As the only general store in Lawrence, you can expect that this Dollar General can get immensely busy. And that it does. One of the bigger DG's that I've been to, it has the same products you would expect at your normal Dollar General, with a few more added so the locals won't have to travel to Hartford or Paw Paw very often. The workers here are very knowledgeable about the Lawrence area and were happy to answer our questions. However, if you are not a local as I am not, then this is the perfect stop to refresh on snacks, drinks, and essentials so you can get back on the road all the more quickly.”
“Prices are going up everywhere, won't be long we won't be able to afford anything, but Walmart is trying to keep those cost down..I love Wal-Mart, especially having one so close to home. Why is there only one cashier and one self serve open today, the lines are so long. 10/18 /2023. Kinda calm in store tonite was easier to get to the things I needed.”

“I use to avoid this store and have for years, I stopped in there a few months ago and I must say WOW! I think whoever is running that store is doing amazing! I have never seen that store look that good! As far as some of the recent bad reviews go...... they have no idea what they are talking about, this store is probably the best looking Dollar General I have been in! Aisles are clear (which says alot because I don't think they have any room to put anything when they get a shipment) them employees must be busting butt to keep that store looking that good! The ceiling looks great (looks like a new ceiling honestly) and no more leaking. Employees were very welcoming and had a great attitude...... I honestly can not find a single negative thing to say about this store! If you haven't been there in awhile PLEASE PLEASE go in and see! Tell them employees they are doing a great job, they deserve it!”
