“Recently spent the weekend in Detroit to attend the Mac football championship and stayed at the Fort Ponchartrain had had a great experience. The location is ideal; Walkable to a number of sites downtown and the tram will take you to the arts district.

Notably, the hotel staff were very professional and courteous. Treat yourself to the rooftop bar that has a panoramic view of Detroit and Canada. Patrice are Craig are both expert mixologists. Patrice made me the best Kahlúa cream I’ve ever tasted. She made it very creamy. Craig prepared a tequila, lemonade concoction for my husband that he thoroughly enjoyed. They are both extremely professional and personable.”

“You will enjoy staying at this former firehouse. It has a really chill vibe, and very comfortable beds. However, there won't be any alarm bells going off here. Sweet dreams.”

“David assisted us with late night hospitality on Wednesday, 10/9. We really appreciate his attention to customer service and his pleasant personality! PS I love the new hotel setup and room redo! We also ate at Presley’s and had a wonderful meal!

Food and drinks: Presley’s very nice! Great food and drinks!”

“Our group hosts a conference for 75 people in different cities each year. In 2025 we had a fantastic time at the Cambria Hotel Detroit Downtown! Communication leading up to the conference was attentive and professional, food was creative and plentiful, rooms were clean and well-tended. The level of service, from sales to front office to food and beverage, was IMPECCABLE. Each department head greeted us and checked in throughout the week; the staff recognized us and treated everyone as friends. We were so pleased and can't recommend the Cambria enough.”

“Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of revitalized downtown Detroit. Bespoke decor and design, friendly and attentive staff, great restaurant and attached shop with refined but not too pretentious watches, bags, etc. Area is highly walkable but we also found quite reasonable overnight parking. Hope to return!”

“Hands down the best hotel stay we've had, the entire place is incredibly cozy - we were a huge fan of the aesthetic. The Candy Bar is cute as heck and worth a visit, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly. Highly recommend The Siren.”

“In the spare of time I needed to crash some place and decided to come here. No lie I asked was the room good enough for 83 bucks he said it’s good and showed me some pictures. I said okay… I went into the room just for the day and ended up staying more days than I thought… rooms is very clean and so is the bathroom! I can’t stand a nasty bathroom at the rooms! Bed is very comfortable highly recommend. For the price and service it’s definitely worth it. My guy always looks out for me. They take pride into these rooms and clean like it’s their home.”

Enjoyed staying at this Casino. It’s my favorite of the 4 mgm properties I’ve been.
It’s also in the best area of Detroit. I went to Detroit for summer slam and I high recommend staying here.”

“This is my go to hotel in DTW. The front desk staff is always amazing and provides extraordinary customer service. The rooms are well suited and clean. They upgraded me to a large suite that was comparable to a condo.”

“My wife and I arrived early Sunday for a 3 night stay. This was our second time staying here. It's in a great location walking distance to Comerica and Ford Field. The entire staff go out of their way to be helpful. The Trolley Cafe is top Noth. The manager of the Cafe is Christian and she is a delightful woman. Last year we arrived a few minutes after the kitchen closed and she went out of her way to make sure we had something to eat. Housekeepers are spot on as well. We really couldn't ask for more. Oh the two Coney Island dog cafes Lafayette and American are 2 minutes away”

“Booked a park, stay and fly package at the Westin located at DTW. When we booked online we were prompted to qualify for a Marriott CC, approval gave us a GREAT room discount. Loved being able to pull up to the terminal and hand car keys to valet. Then when we returned they had our car parked in front of the terminal and warmed up! Awesome stuff! If you fly out of the same terminal as the hotel, all you have to do is walk from the hotel directly into the terminal. If you fly out of the other terminal they have an easy to use shuttle. Restaurant at the hotel is great! Hotel was beautiful and clean. Will stay again!”

“I am a Bonvoy member and stay at Marriott often. This was my 1st visit to Detroit. I had some mishaps during check in and subsequent interactions with the front desk. The assistant manager figured everything out and came through. My frustration level was mounting at one point and I had to explain the situation to several teammates
Several great points:
1. Perfect location
2. Coachable staff
3. Excellent housekeepers on 19th floor, i didn't get her name but she was very helpful
4. Location was secured at night
5. On site dining options
I don't expect perfection from people, so I showed some grace. Next time I'm in Detroit, I will love to be a guest again.”

“Well, first of all motor city casino is owned an operated by not just companies within Michigan, but companies within the city of Detroit. Beyond that their comps and rewards are great, the security there is great. I’ve never once had a problem there. Everything is smooth. I love this place.”

“Was a very nice clean stay , they even offer a shuttle to the Detroit red wings game a hour before game time , the staff were nothing but extremely kind , the valet even helped us find the self parking .”

“Our room was spacious, and we had our own parking spot right in front of it. The inn's location is great; easy walking distance to downtown. Founders Brewing is close by. We felt safe. The owner, Mona, really aimed to please. Her breakfasts were delicious. Lots to do in Detroit; we're looking forward to returning. When we do, we'll stay at this wonderful inn.”

“It's a short stay, a Mo Z Woe Z! It looks clean, and so far neither myself or my lady friend have brought back any bedbugs or seen any! That's all that matters! Bad parking though!”

“This was our third time staying here, we picked the same room all three times. Beautiful old home with lots of character, the staff is super friendly and hospitable, it's location is super close to the venues. We will stay again.”

“We stayed here last year to go to a pistons game. It's 5 blocks from the little ceasar arena. The location is great cause we can go and have a few drinks and walk back to the hotel and not have to worry about parking in detroit. The rooms are clean. It's not a brand new place but everything is clean working. Beds are rock hard but not staying a week. We will probably be back for a concert or another game.”

“Very clean rooms, excellent customer service, and will revisit to check out the other rooms

Rooms: Multiple themed rooms; multiple stay options; could use a chair and table, and well worth the cost”

3.7 Good43 Reviews

“Starting with the good: the facility is beautiful, clean, and unique. My room was well-appointed with all the features you'd expect from a good hotel. Hamilton's restaurant is great, and the lobby is very comfortable.
However, the issues were mostly due to staff inconsistency. Some interactions were great, with warm and attentive service, but other staff seemed like they simply couldn't be bothered to help customers. I understand that curating a great staff is difficult, but this experience pales in comparison to my other Detroit hotel stays like at The Henry.”

“Wow, this place... you may almost lose where you're at. You must memorize the signs, areas and others before taking a leisure for having your fun. And when you miss where you're at, go back to the lobby/lounge, then straight to your room.”

“I make monthly trips to Detroit for work. I've stayed at the Doubletree in Dearborn 3-4 times. It's reasonably priced and I like the location due to its proximity to a variety of restaurants and my work. Unfortunately, every stay has come with problems (most of which have been minor). It's either that I have few to no towels & hygiene products, the bedsheets seem to be dirty, the outlets and lights witches don't work, or the window curtains won't close fully. Each time, I've called the front desk and asked for assistance. Help is always promised and never given. I've left reviews through the hotel about this multiple times. I don't expect a change, but the location is still convenient as hell.”

“This is a nice hotel for the price, Short stays are cheap, about twenty-five bucks and up, plus a $5 key deposit, that you get back at the end of your stay.Nice staff.NO roachesNO bed bugs.”

“These rooms are awesome and the new owners who turned it into the jz did great job. I stayed when first opened up as jz. There was two white guys william and mark who worked there painting and doing house keeping. These guys were great ?. I'll be back again when im in michigan.”

“This is a great motel which has new owners, new management, and a caring atmosphere.
The negative reviews from the old business do not pertain to the business at hand. I've been staying here since the ownership changed and the stay has been fabulous. And the price is still around 12% cheaper than other area motels.”
