“Brooks Lumber is a classic hardware store with smart and helpful people. Shops like this used to exist all over before the box store movement of the 90's. Been here dozens of times for all sorts of reasons, invaluable community resource.”

“Jerry the manager at this store is wonderful...I came into the store to buy an patio umbrella for $39.00 on sale...I went in an bought it but it was $65.00.they told me because it was an online disc. only...this is really dumb....so I thought..lesson learned and I told the manager that I would still take the umbrella because I didn't want to have to go home an order it on line just to come back an pick it up...He apologized and I said ok...Welllll, he called back and gave me the discount anyway...I couldn't thank him enough..This is great customer service..Thank you ACE for hiring smart people to run there stores...
PS...I just ordered another Patio umbrella on line to pick up tomorrow.....”

Found me the bolts I needed & bagged them up with the code then & off to the till I went! I was in excruciating pain & dreading have to go in! Joe made it a quick trip in & out! Good job Joe!”
“When I ordered my paint supplies from Ace ,I thought that I asked for it to be sent to the centerline ace hardware. Instead it went to the nine mile ace hardware. The three young sales associates there was phenomenal. I needed to purchase some additional supplies and they were very helpful in helping me to make my selections. A special shout out to Travis who brought my supplies to me, helped me select the primer and then put everything in the car for me.”
“This is a good place to go if you need high quality landscaping tools. Redmax, Shindaiwa, Echo, X-Mark, Scag, Toro. They can be pretty helpful and if you're a professional landscaper you probably already know. They need to open thr bigger location they were supposed to open years ago. The size of the location is one of it's greatest shortcomings. Because of the size there are very limited floor models to look at. I would like to see a mower in real life before purchasing. I would have purchased an upgrade to my mower by now if they had a good one in but they haven't. That might be good though, keep us from unnecessary upgrades.”

“I came here for a holiday market, so I didn't have a proper Woodward Throwbacks experience, but this business is so fun and unique! They give so many local-based materials and products a second life and give them a chance at finding a second home. Some of my friends came here (I believe you have to schedule appointments apparently to come here normally) to pick up some milk glass lamp shades and it was a very quick in and out situation. Make sure to pay attention to their socials for product availability as they get them in! The space feels like a showroom on the first floor and then sort of a warehouse-like space on the second floor. I went up a very steep incline ramp to get to the second floor, kind of fun and unique, and there were more vendors for the holiday market up there, so unclear is this is sort of another showroom type place normally as well where they just have a lot of their products available too. Either way, super unique place to find unique pieces to add a ton of Michigan/Detroit-based character and personality into your home if that's what you're looking for! I definitely am and will be perusing their stock to see what I can bring into my space soon!”
“Please support Detroit business! This hardware store has been here forever and provides the old time hardware experience. The guys who run it are friendly, funny and knowledgeable about everything "hardware". Start here and if they don't have it they'll direct you to Brooks, Atlas, etc etc.”
“I needed a machine nut and decided to try them based off Google reviews. Customer service is definitely a 10! Craig had helped me. He made sure to measure to see if they had the correct size, made sure to tell me the size and made sure I was overall satisfied with everything. The show room/store is extremely clean and organized. But it was Craig's friendly helpful demeanor and knowledge that sealed the deal. This is a great company and I highly recommend them! They have definitely set the bar.”
