7AM - 4PM
414 Oakwood, Detroit“These guys are the most competitive prices when it comes to bolt prices hands down. Better prices than all the big box stores - hands down and even other moms and pop stores prices. I drive 30 miles just because of their great prices. The only downside is that they are only open Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. But I can deal with that if they keep their prices low.”
“Great experience! Cameron was super helpful. He made plumbing supplies less confusing for me and without his help, my bathroom plumbing would be a disaster. He was friendly, understanding and patient. Will definitely be back! Thanks again!”
“GREAT customer service! With very knowledgeable people, It’s a one stop shop. If they don’t have what you need they are always happy to help you order it or send you to another shop who has it. Besides hardware they have the cutest store cat named Smokey:)”

2200 Trumbull, Detroit“My go to hardware and lumber supplies. I've depended on Brooks for many years! Owning several historic properties I don't always run to the burbs for Home Depot or Lowe's!”
“Very good Customer Service! I came in looking for some stuff and they helped me find them as soon as I came in the shop. I believe the workers name was Elias. Thanks Elias! ?Would recommend!”
“After 2 hrs of driving from big box to small supply house, finally found what I needed here. Staff was very knowledgeable and prices were right. I'll be back!”
“This is a great family owned local neighborhood hardware store. I went to two major chain hardware stores (Ace Hardware and Home Depot) first in an attempt to get a specific key copied but neither one carried the key template to make the key.Ironically, the Home Depot store employee recommended that I try Miller's Pro Hardware right down the street and I'm glad I did. Miller's Pro Hardware was able to make copies of my key for me (in less than 5 minutes) and provided phenomenal customer service in the process. From now on, I'm going to Miller's first.”
“I called to get a carb kit, asked what motor troubles I'm having. They agreed the next step was a carb kit and they would show me where possible obstructions could be.I was greeted at the door. As I entered I knew I was in the right place. I have worked on motors since age 12. I'm older now. I asked about throttle timing and recieved detailed information. The info confirmed my settings. Lockeman's Hardware and boat is the place to call or visit. If you need a simple part or service Lockeman's Hardware and Boats is the place. If you have an unsolvable motor problem go to Lockeman's Hardware and boats.”
“GREETED AS YOUR WALKING INSIDE WELL LIGHTED AND YOU CAN BE ASSISTED BY STAFF MEMBERS TO ANSWERING QUESTIONS AND SHOWING ITEMS IN ISLE WAYS THE PRICES ARE VERY IMPORTANT AND ARE EVERYDAY REASONABLE FOR PURCHASING PARKING LOT IS NEXT DOOR”
“I want to thank Lily and Bertha for making my many trips to their store so fun. Lily knows her stuff. Ask about any plumbing issue and she has the answer and parts. Bertha is the smiling face at the register. Support this local resource. Thanks for the root beer.”
“Not that clean but they alway's have everything I need for fixing things. Staff is really nice & Their to help you as soon as you walk in the door. Nice Ppl. He knew exactly what I needed and was able to provide a wide selection of products that would suit my needs. Sam was friendly, courteous and a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend True Value Hardware and Sam for any home improvement project. Five stars!”

“Very helpful customer service. I was going to go to home Depot but they have almost everything you could need for plumbing and household fixings. Prices are reasonable!”
“It's a little hardware store that has just about everything you need. Really quick you can just run in and out the service is hit and miss but it's still better than the big ones like home depot where your there for at least an hour”
“young man named sam was very helpful showed me around got exactly what i needed for a amazing price it was my first time there and not my last very nice place and amazing service by sam”
“Good old fashioned hardware store that plays the hits without overwhelming you with a big box feel. Service was personable and friendly. I’ll be back if I need anything.”
“Mom and Pop hardware with character to spare. Any business with a pet cat is hard not to give five stars on that basis alone. His name is Miggy (named after Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera) he's a former stray and he's a bit of a bruiser having been in some scrapes. Miggy was perfectly content to let me pet him though and the guy behind the counter was all too happy to fill me in with all the details about him. The first time I walked in here I bought a gallon of Killz, the primer paint with the comically bad ass name. The second time I bought one of those litter grabber arms, I think the branding on it was Nifty Nabber. I found that right away, almost as soon as I walked in the front door. I bought other stuff too both times but it's escaping me what it was right now. Possibly rock salt the first time. The bicycle selection here is pretty mighty. It might put Third Ave Hardware to shame. Some super dope vintage bikes here. They also have odd stuff like DVDs to fill out shelf space. It's a bit rough around the edges here and there. A bucket in an aisle to catch rainwater from the leaky roof and a buzzer to get in. I didn't need to use it either time but for Highland Park it does seem like a reasonable option. There was also a couple birds flying around inside on my second trip. I was pretty sure they had just flown in, but knowing about Miggy I had to half jokingly ask if they were pets. The guy at the register said they just fly in when people open the front door. Maybe they're who the buzzer is really for. There's some great vintage signs behind the register and a hand drawn rat on cardboard by the pest control items. Just lots of interesting odds and ends. Lowes it ain't but Louis Ace Hardware has realness by the bucket. The rain bucket maybe but I'll take it. Places like this are a dying breed. Autofill is starting to catch on to that phrase but these are the kind of places I especially like writing reviews for.”
8:30AM - 5:30PM
1001 Seven Mile E, Detroit“The mechanic said he never seen a snowblower disintegrate like this thank goodness it didn't cost me a fortune all fixed and ready to run just have to wait for some more snow love this place”
“Great location and very easy to find. It’s along like three main Streets. They have a variety of things in there but they didn’t have what I needed. The younger guy who works there is very friendly and helpful but that other guy at the register was not friendly nor was he helpful so that’s why they are only being rated a 4.”
“Please support Detroit business! This hardware store has been here forever and provides the old time hardware experience. The guys who run it are friendly, funny and knowledgeable about everything "hardware". Start here and if they don't have it they'll direct you to Brooks, Atlas, etc etc.”
