“I LOVE this business! The owners are the absolute best and all of their employees are extremely knowledgeable about holistic dog health and raw food diets. I always feel so welcome when I come in and I love how they give our pup his favourite snack(Duck Feet) at every visit! I was hesitant about feeding raw food at first and they helped me every step of the way and thoroughly answered all of my questions. Raw food is SO EASY and our dog is thriving at 6 months old on a raw diet. Highly recommend!”

The dog self wash station has a wonderful view but there is only one and I'm not sure you you would have to book an appointment to know you can get in there. I'm not sure if they have per supplies for animals other than cats and dogs I definitely loved this store though”

Lisa the owner was so pleasing as she explained that her cakes needed to be ordered but she did have cupcakes available. We bought a few of the birthday cupcakes and Thor loved them! “Hands down, this is the best down-to-earth, friendly pet shop experience on the east side. They will special order any dog food you need and make recommendations for foods that will help your furballs. Their prices are less than other high end places, and everyone in the store is super friendly and personable. Not only that, if you're looking for a cuddly animal fix or feathered friend fix, there are always animals to hold and friendly birds who will climb on your shoulder and possibly whisper sweet nothings into your ear (or nibble your shirt). “My 8yr old pug has been battling skin issues for over 3 years and we explored many options with numerous vets. It was costly and every intervention failed (I can only imagine the damage to his organs it all has done)! Not once did raw diet come up when seeing the vets. I finally got sick and tired and looked into natural remedies and took my pugs health into my own hands. We found many raves about raw food diet, and Hungry Pooch came into our lives last week. We were greeted by Ava and our transition to a raw diet began! In the matter of a week, I have seen more progress than I have in 3 years. His skin has improved drastically! The girls at Hungry Pooch are so knowledgeable and truly care about your furbabies. Tia and Ava have went above and beyond all my expectations. “I started shopping at K-9 four dogs ago, probably over 30 years. Unbeatable prices on a great selection of supplies, food, toys, and treats for dogs, cats, pet birds, and wild birds. Pet food prices are usually better than online discount retailers.Great selection of show and grooming supplies; more variety of dog foods than most big box pet stores. Only a few small animal supplies, and nothing for fish or reptiles.Don't expect anything fancy: they have a no-frills, warehouse style; but the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. And if they're out of what you need, they'll be happy to tell you when it'll come in, or order it specially for you and call you when it arrives.**Can't find anyone to help? Ring the service bell on the glass counter!Phone service can be sketchy; it can take several tries to get through, as there's only one line. Don't mistake their briefness on phone for rudeness; they need to answer quickly to clear the line for the next call. If they say that something's in stock but don't check, believe them. “I have a nervous Black Lab, Nala, who has been groomed at this location for years. When Nala gives me trouble entering the store, an employee always assists.My Nala was very ill last October. We almost lost her. When I shared this with Summer, Nala's favorite groomer, Summer treated Nala to a de-shed package, no charge. The store also gave my pup a Bakery item as a special gift.Great group of employees at the Greater Mack SCS store!”

“It's a private owned pet supply, not a chain retailer... With that being said... It's not uncommon to hear the staff (or what appears like family members all working together) get into little arguments here and there. I think it's quite funny lol.. Business wise, they're cheaper than any other pet supply around. Pet smart wants to charge something like $15 for a medium sized bully stick (dog chew stick) and K9 has the same size one for $5. Great prices. Lines can get ridiculously long so you gotta learn when not to go, otherwise, it's a great store.”
