“The most beautiful church in Hamtramck (or even metro Detroit). Father Daniel is amazing, so friendly and down to earth. He is able to do mass and wedding ceremonies in English and Ukrainian.”

“If you allow yourself to be in a crowd that is very angry, or filled with craving, you will consume that energy in the collective consciousness, and you will hurt yourself. That is why environment is another kind of food. As a society, we have to create the kind of environment that can help provide us with the wholesome energy of hope, peace and insight, such as the Detroit Zen temple has done.”

“You can tell from the outside that Old St. Mary's is a special place. But when you see it from the inside you realize how incredible it is. Even if you're not there to attend mass, it's worth your time to walk through just to appreciate the beauty of it.”

“Amazing old church located in southwest Detroit (Est. 1701). The inside is breathtakingly beautiful. What a treasure for the city of Detroit. Unfortunately, they don't allow walk-ins. To see it you either need to attend mass or be part of a pre-approved tour. If you're fortunate enough to see the inside prepare to be amazed.”

“This church can be an example for many churches. There is adequate seating space, great parking and large restrooms. It also has head-start classes weekdays. The unisex sign on the restroom door is only utilized for the toddlers during school hours. Male and female restroom accommodations are utilized during any church services. The choirs are amazing and the true word of God is being taught each time the church doors open. There are brilliant and amazing young men “Young Men In Black” to assist with parking, handicapped, elderly and women with children. The ushers and nurses guild is always on point ready to assist in anyway. They are accommodating to Covid guidelines and restrictions. Your soul will be fed in this place. You will learn something before you leave.”

“I am not Catholic, I visited just to see the building and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the rosery chapel. Both are positively majestic works of architecture. It is one of the most worthy builds I can think of to be restored - everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy its astounding beauty.”

“Very friendly and open church to ALL individuals. This is very important to me that all individuals are accepted within this church. Sermon messages are spot on every week as if the ministers are talking directly to me about what I’m going through in my life that exact moment. Every sermon starts out with God loves YOU and there is nothing you can do about it. The church helps many organizations and individuals with aid related items within our immediate community. I can’t say enough great things about ROFUM church. Please come and check it out as I am sure you will like it and the message you take away.”

“I am a former member of Second Baptist. I was Baptized br Rev Banks. Attended Sunday school, Jr. Church and big church weekly. That was my home. I LOVED Second Baptist. Many are unaware of the powerful political affliations associated with second Baptist. Not only was I brought up & Baptized there. I met my husband there, was married there, worked at the daycare and have the fondest memories. My Godmother was Ms. Ora Manfield Fowler. My favorite place was the ladies lounge on the 2nd floor.”

“I have been going here forever. God has me here. I love being apart of this community. The message on Sunday’s is always fire. The bonds and friendships I’ve formed is something I will always hold close. The people, the diversity… it’s truly only by Gods design.Check out the Facebook pages: Gospel Life church and Gospel Nite Life (which is essentially a youth group for evening Sunday services).I couldn’t be happier with where I am called to be.”

“My daughter was married here in July, 2008. This church is absolutely magnificent, the wedding was beautiful and the entire atmosphere of the Holy Mass, the marriage ceremony ~ EVERYthing was respectful, true to the Liturgy, and absolutely perfect in every detail. What a wonderful experience from that day that I will always remember.I see that they have the Traditional Latin Mass there and whenever I am able I will certainly be in attendance ~ we live in the suburbs so it will be a drive, but that's not important.God bless...and may He keep this parish in His Sacred Heart always!!”
