“I can not thank this practice enough for the compassion they showed when I had to make the difficult decision to put my cat Lily down. I was at another practice in the area when my cat got sick and they could not get me in quick enough so I called West Suburban & they got me in the next day. I met with Dr. Morman, she was incredible and very knowledgeable. After lab work, we had to make the decision to humanely euthanize her. She walked me through the entire process and even let me know if I needed anything to call her. I have been to many vets throughout my years of owning animals but this has been easily the best I have found. I will 100% be bringing my other animals here!”

“Hands down an amazing place to take you're fur babies. They are very caring and extremely informative. I would recommend them to anyone who is trying to get their animal the best care possible. They're gonna tell you the truth even if it's something difficult to hear but they are beyond honest and if you choose not to take their advice that's on you as Dr.Leopold has nothing but the best intentions for animals and so does the staff. We just had to put our boy Buck down and they were fantastic from the start of his cancer treatment to the day we had to say goodbye. We learned alot from Dr.Leopold about the kind of cancer and how to keep him at comfort measures until that day came. They are not a money grabbing place as I've dealt with afew other clinics who were nothing but money grabs and didn't have the animals best interests at the top of their list. Thank you to alexis rd animal hospital for everything and we will always recommend you guy's to anyone as you all truly cared about Buck and have cared for his kitty sister Kingsley who will be coming soon for her check up. Thank you all for the love you all showed Buck and the comfort you gave us before he passed and the day he passed. We are forever grateful to you all and will never forget the warmth and kindness you guy's shared with us. Our cat Kingsley we rescued on the brink of death when she was a kitten.she is a bit skidish but when she goes in for her check ups she senses the calm and love this clinic has for animals and again we are beyond thankful for that kind of atmosphere. No they didn't ask for this review but they sure as heck deserved this review as they literally care and have shown the care for over many many year's that we have brought our pet's too. Dr.Leopold is a blessing to have as the vet that's there now as she truly show's her care and gives you're animal her time to evaluate and not just rush the pet out she truly gives her time to make sure she's getting right answers or to find what care path will be best for you're pet.The staff is very caring and understanding and truly we can't thank them all enough for everything. The staff is so wonderful and accommodating. The vet is very knowledgeable and takes the time to listen and will thoroughly explain treatment for your pet. They also have great rates for office visit and necessary treatments.”

“Did not realize how much blood work on my dog would be. I thought they were drawing blood to test for her thyroid levels which is about $50 $60. Not a complete blood work on her, which came out to over $200 for blood work only. We like going there. We will continue to go there. This was the first time a big problem happened. The tax should go ahead and let you know how much something like this is going to be before they actually do it cuz I would have turned it down if I knew that.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Bird & Exotic Wellness Center. I brought my cockatoo here after previously taking her to a regular veterinary office that also sees birds, and the difference in the level of knowledge and care was incredible.

Before coming here, I felt like I wasn’t getting the right information or a clear understanding of what was actually going on with her health. Once I brought her to Bird & Exotic Wellness Center, they were able to properly evaluate her, explain what was happening, and get her started on the medications and treatment she needed.

What I appreciate most is how much time they spend with us. I tend to have a LOT of questions because I want to understand everything and make the best decisions I can for her, and I have never felt rushed or like I was bothering them. They take the time to answer my questions, explain the reasoning behind their recommendations, and make sure I understand our options.

Having a sick bird is incredibly stressful, especially because birds can hide illness so well, and finding a veterinarian who truly understands avian medicine has made such a difference. I feel so much more confident knowing she is in their care. I’m extremely grateful for everyone at Bird & Exotic Wellness Center and would absolutely recommend them to anyone with a bird or exotic pet.”

“I woke up last week to my 10 year old senior rabbit unable to use his back legs. My normal vet, Bird and Exotic Pet Wellness Center was not open, Medvet was not open, and I was running out of options. I called every single vet that was open to see if they had an exotic animal vet on staff and most turned me down until I found Hartman Veterinary Hospital. They were able to squeeze me in within an hour of my calling, and I waited maybe 2 minutes in the waiting room before being called back to meet Dr Myers. He was kind, compassionate, and completely understanding of how hysterical I was and tried his best to explain all of the issues my little old man rabbit was experiencing. Dr Myers and the rest of the staff were so very gentle while handling my geriatric boy. He was taken back for Xrays and not even 10 minutes later we had the results. Dr Myers believed it was an e. cuniculi flare up (and unfortunately some pretty serious arthritis due to old age) and immediately prescribed medication to begin treatment and manage my boy's pain. They explained all of the medications they were prescribing so I knew what they did, and they even labeled the syringes on each medication so I would know how much to use. I received a detailed summary of my bill without any extra charges or fees that I was used to seeing at Bird and Exotic Pet Wellness Center. The fact that they were able to see my rabbit within an hour after calling, the way they handled and treated him so sweetly and gently, Dr Myers' knowledge, and their very fair pricing will ensure that I will make them my primary exotic vet moving forward. Absolutely nothing but wonderful things to say about this vet and all of its staff combined.”

“It’s been almost a year since Ziggy could go for a walk because of his luxating patella, but he’s finally back at it for the first time today thanks to Dr. Brown! I was extremely nervous for him to undergo surgery since he’s 10 years old, but all of the staff at Shoreland were phenomenal. “We had an emergency with our 2-year-old cat, Neela, on Saturday. Our regular vet was closed, and the emergency clinic wasn’t open yet. After calling several local offices, this one was the only place willing to see us — and I’m so glad they did!

They got us in right away, and the visit was much more affordable than an emergency clinic. Dr. Emily was incredibly kind and took the time to explain everything she found. She even addressed another health issue that our regular vet had never offered treatment options for.
