Pet Stores & Supplies

Mares-Z-Doats Feed Pet & Garden
1400 Division St, MarquetteIf you're looking for a local store with heart, knowledge, and real commitment to the community, Mares-Z-Doats in Marquette is everything a local supply store should be.
We recently visited while sourcing seed and supplies for a wildlife habitat project on our hunting land, and the staff could not have been more helpful. Jessica, in particular, went above and beyond—helping us identify which clover seeds were already pre-inoculated, tracking down the last bag of inoculant we needed, and assisting us in searching for seed storage solutions. She even offered to reach out to their suppliers when certain native seeds weren't available in-store.
It’s not just the service that stands out—it’s the local knowledge, the willingness to help, and the clear dedication to serving the needs of the U.P. community.
Bonus: Mares-Z-Doats is pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your dog along for the ride. Around here, that matters.
Whether you're picking up seed, pet supplies, animal feed, or garden tools, you’ll find more than just a product—you’ll find people who care. Highly recommended.

Poets Pet Parlor
1202 Wright St, Marquette⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We’ve used Poet’s Pet Parlor many times now for both doggie daycare and boarding, and we couldn’t be happier.
The staff is incredibly friendly, and it’s clear they genuinely care about the dogs in their care. Our girl always comes home happy, well-cared for, and completely tuckered out from all the playtime! It’s such a relief knowing we can trust them to treat our dog like family.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for a safe, fun, and reliable place for their pet!

Pet Care

Stuga North Veterinary Care
933 Lake Shore Blvd, MarquetteAfter some not so great experiences with another local vet, it’s been so great to have our cats receive such wonderful care at Stuga North! I don’t think I’ve ever had a veterinarian tell me not to bring in our cat so as to not stress him more and send prescriptions in without charging an arm and a leg. Truly shows they care about the well being of your pets and want what’s best! Thank you Stuga North team!

Marquette Veterinary Clinic
2270 US Hwy 41 South, MarquetteTaken both of my dogs here for a few years and they’re GREAT. A few times I’ve told them I don’t have much to spend, and they’re always willing to do the most for my dogs even on a budget. I have a dog who’s very nervous and they are great with her. When a friend came to visit with her dog we unexpectedly had to put him down, their team was so helpful and went above and beyond with their service. They also make an effort to know me, which is nice! Super clean facility too. By far the best vet I’ve ever had!!!

Dead River Coffee Roasters
119 W Baraga Ave, MarquetteThis was a great little stop in our jaunt to Marquette. Has all the right college town coffee shop vibes, and really tasty pastries/scones as well.

Velodrome Coffee Company
1125 N 3rd St, MarquetteThis is definitely the coffee shop for people who really like a good cup of high quality coffee.
I like that they have a small latte menu that consists of maybe 2 lattes, one being a unique seasonal latte. Their seasonal latte flavors feel very special. Their little baked goods like scones and cookies were really good and also unique. I have yet to try their food but it looks good.
But this place is definitely more for true coffee drinkers. Their pour overs are very good but even their darkest roast has a lighter flavor profile. They don't leave much room for cream unless you ask, so if you like your coffee straight, this place is great!
The vibe is simplistic and quiet. A great place for people to get some work done.

Barrel + Beam
260 Northwoods Rd, MarquetteWhat a cool brewery. The bartender was super friendly and informative. She broke down how the beer was made and gave us information on what the building used to be. And gave us some suggestions of what else to do in the area! She made us feel very welcome! I loved everything I sampled. The two standouts for me were the Saison Terre A Terre and the Chamomile Mead. If you are ever in the area, please stop by; it's definitely worth it!

Portside Inn
239 W Washington St, MarquetteGreat service from the moment I walked in. Very attentive and friendly. Went over the beer options along with some samples to test - I prefer dark beers so I'd suggest the Widow Maker .... It went down well when paired with the French onion soup. Give this place a try if you're in the area

Stucko's Pub & Grill
900 N 3rd St, MarquetteFood was very good. The cheese curds and hot wings were my favorite. The place was slammed but all the servers did a great job of checking on us. Tables inside and outside. We sat inside at a high top. Lots of TVs to watch sports. Great place for dinner.

Huron Mountain Bakery
1301 S Front St, MarquetteWe are wanderers and travel a lot. Till now, we have travelled through 3 continents. We visited Marquette to experience peak fall colors and northern lights. And Found Huron Bakery It is one of the best bakery we have been too! Their Bagels and Sandwiches were just amazing. The Jalapeño Cheddar Bagel , was flavourful , and perfectly baked - crispy on outside soft on inside . Their Erie sandwich too was just so fresh, flavourful, refreshing and filling. One of the best bakery we have been too - better than most of the European Bakeries we have explored Service - was also absolutely great. Their Bagels sell out pretty early in the morning , so they offered to save for us next day and they did! We just called in and they saved the Bagels we love! Must try place

The Vierling Restaurant & Marquette Harbor Brewery
119 S Front St, MarquetteOk this is a small town with not many options to choose from, so we asked at the hotel for recommendations and the girl at the front desk mentioned this place. We ended up coming and having to be put on a waitlist of about 30 min. The place inside is ok, it was unfortunate that we were seated at the very entrance and the weather was cold so o couldn't take off my coat as it felt cold at all times. Food was good. Our server was nice. My husband ordered 2 cocktails that were decent and the Friday special: fish & chips ( pieces were huge) I ordered scampi shrimps and mist day those have been the best ones I've ever had. The only reason for the missing star is literally the searing that should've not even existed during the cold weather.
