Pet Stores & Supplies

Mares-Z-Doats Feed Pet & Garden
1400 Division St, MarquetteIf you're looking for a local store with heart, knowledge, and real commitment to the community, Mares-Z-Doats in Marquette is everything a local supply store should be.
We recently visited while sourcing seed and supplies for a wildlife habitat project on our hunting land, and the staff could not have been more helpful. Jessica, in particular, went above and beyond—helping us identify which clover seeds were already pre-inoculated, tracking down the last bag of inoculant we needed, and assisting us in searching for seed storage solutions. She even offered to reach out to their suppliers when certain native seeds weren't available in-store.
It’s not just the service that stands out—it’s the local knowledge, the willingness to help, and the clear dedication to serving the needs of the U.P. community.
Bonus: Mares-Z-Doats is pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your dog along for the ride. Around here, that matters.
Whether you're picking up seed, pet supplies, animal feed, or garden tools, you’ll find more than just a product—you’ll find people who care. Highly recommended.

Poets Pet Parlor
1202 Wright St, Marquette⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We’ve used Poet’s Pet Parlor many times now for both doggie daycare and boarding, and we couldn’t be happier.
The staff is incredibly friendly, and it’s clear they genuinely care about the dogs in their care. Our girl always comes home happy, well-cared for, and completely tuckered out from all the playtime! It’s such a relief knowing we can trust them to treat our dog like family.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for a safe, fun, and reliable place for their pet!

Pet Care

Stuga North Veterinary Care
933 Lake Shore Blvd, MarquetteAfter some not so great experiences with another local vet, it’s been so great to have our cats receive such wonderful care at Stuga North! I don’t think I’ve ever had a veterinarian tell me not to bring in our cat so as to not stress him more and send prescriptions in without charging an arm and a leg. Truly shows they care about the well being of your pets and want what’s best! Thank you Stuga North team!

Animal Medical Center of Marquette
3052 Wright St, MarquetteDr. Emily is the most compassionate and attentive veterinarian I’ve had in my 15 years as a pet owner. She provided thoughtful, long-term care for my dog Landon and showed genuine empathy when we ultimately had to say goodbye.
With my two senior dogs, she continues to be supportive, respectful, and honest—never judgmental, never profit-driven. She listens, takes concerns seriously, and focuses on comfort and quality of life.
Transitioning from three dogs to two aging ones has been emotionally difficult, and her care has made it so much easier. I trust her completely and cannot recommend her highly enough.

Marquette Veterinary Clinic
2270 US Hwy 41 South, MarquetteI have been taking my mini Aussie to Marquette Veterinary Clinic for the past eight years and my two year old doodle since she was a puppy.
Dr. Brauer has an incredible ability to diagnose and treat health conditions that other vets have missed. His expertise has been a lifesaver for my dogs, uncovering underlying issues and ensuring they receive the best possible care. He’s also helped manage their seasonal allergies with effective and affordable treatments, which has made a huge difference in their quality of life.
I started bringing my oldest dog there 8 + years ago while I was in college, and the team was always so understanding of my situation as a college student. They worked with me to find affordable ways to care for my dogs without ever compromising the quality of treatment.
Dr. Brauer and his son, Dr Brauer Jr. have an approach to veterinary care that is always honest and compassionate. They never push unnecessary treatments and they are always there when you need them. In emergencies, they have gone above and beyond (countless times) showing up in the middle of the night or even on weekends to help. Their dedication and kindness are unmatched.
I truly couldn’t say better things about this team. If you’re looking for a vet who is knowledgeable, dependable, and truly cares about your pets, this is the place to go!

Barrel + Beam
260 Northwoods Rd, MarquetteWhat a cool brewery. The bartender was super friendly and informative. She broke down how the beer was made and gave us information on what the building used to be. And gave us some suggestions of what else to do in the area! She made us feel very welcome! I loved everything I sampled. The two standouts for me were the Saison Terre A Terre and the Chamomile Mead. If you are ever in the area, please stop by; it's definitely worth it!

Portside Inn
239 W Washington St, MarquetteGreat service from the moment I walked in. Very attentive and friendly. Went over the beer options along with some samples to test - I prefer dark beers so I'd suggest the Widow Maker .... It went down well when paired with the French onion soup. Stucko's Pub & Grill
900 N 3rd St, MarquetteFood was very good. The cheese curds and hot wings were my favorite. The place was slammed but all the servers did a great job of checking on us. Tables inside and outside. We sat inside at a high top. Lots of TVs to watch sports. Great place for dinner.

Huron Mountain Bakery
1301 S Front St, MarquetteCute little bakery off the highway. Clean, smells great inside, everything looks so fresh and enticing! Wide selection of baked goodies, the girl behind the counter was helpful with my questions, and everything I tried was pretty darn good. The macarons were a little pricey for my sweet treat but the Vanilla macaron was worth every penny. I wasn't a huge fan of the chocolate but still tasty, overall! The coconut cookies were my favorite-chewy in all the right ways, great coconut flavor, buttery and delicious. The peanut butter brownie(?) was incredible. I mean, just look at the thing--it looks like a work of art made to eat.

The Vierling Restaurant & Marquette Harbor Brewery
119 S Front St, MarquetteOk this is a small town with not many options to choose from, so we asked at the hotel for recommendations and the girl at the front desk mentioned this place. We ended up coming and having to be put on a waitlist of about 30 min. The place inside is ok, it was unfortunate that we were seated at the very entrance and the weather was cold so o couldn't take off my coat as it felt cold at all times. Food was good. Our server was nice. My husband ordered 2 cocktails that were decent and the Friday special: fish & chips ( pieces were huge) I ordered scampi shrimps and mist day those have been the best ones I've ever had. The only reason for the missing star is literally the searing that should've not even existed during the cold weather.
