When we have an urgent problem with our dog they get us right in. Our last visit we took our dog with a hurt leg. The the Vet and Tech got down on the cement floor and sat with her and made her feel so comforted.
They explain everything and don’t order expensive tests without you knowing up front the costs.

3990 N Oak St, MetamoraI called a ton of vets around me looking for a place that took chickens, with no luck. A vet recommended this place, and by the time I called it was already closed. I got a phone call back from there receptionist (after hours!) and she said they could see my chicken the next day! I assumed my chicken had coccidiosis, but thankfully we caught it early on. My dad took the chicken in, and was in and out within 15 minutes. The doctor examined my chicken, made her meds, and that was it! Super fast and easy. They gave my chicken a 50/50 chance of survival. It’s been about 2 months since the appointment and my chicken is doing amazing and even laying eggs again! We will definitely be back if we have any health issues with our flock. Thank you to both the receptionist & the doctor for helping my girl!

The trainers are well-credentialed, including Fear Free certified - and most importantly, they care. Their methods are completely force-free and positive. Prong, shock, or choke collars are not used or allowed in class. (While researching 'positive reinforcement' trainers, I found no other in my area that didn't use that type of collar.) I am very happy to have found these trainers and I highly recommend them.

Flying A Canine Ranch
3697 Green Corners Rd, MetamoraWe have been taking our 5.5 yo Rottie to Flying A since she was old enough. She is always happy to go. The staff are passionate, caring, knowledgeable & friendly. The photos of daily play and the professional photos are absolutely wonderful. Our girl sadly has hip dysplasia so she sometimes is difficult when having her nails trimmed. They are so patient with her. I highly recommend Flying A.

Metamora Canine Kennel
3906 Hunters Creek Rd, MetamoraI love this kennel. It's very clean, Oscar didn't smell when we picked him up. He got to play with other dogs and had his own run.
The staff are great, they told us all about our stay.
Metamora Canine Kennel is our new kennel. Its worth the drive from Rochester Hills.

Hadley Acres Obedience & Care
4013 Pratt Rd, MetamoraOur puppy has both boarded at Hadley Acres and done obedience training here. She had a great time and Daphne took great care of her while she was being boarded. Daphne had a lot of tips for our very energetic puppy at obedience training and we've already seen a lot of progress!

4015 S Oak St, MetamoraWe stopped in for a visit on a Monday morning when the town was quiet and we could browse and shop for unique gifts at our leisure. Since it was near lunchtime, we didn't purchase the coffee and treats but they looked both tempting and delicious! This unique venue has an equestrian theme along with coffee, unique baked goods, novelty wines and a wide assortment of boutique items to choose from. There is an outdoor sitting area with fire table for those who just want to relax and chat while waiting for their party to finish exploring and finalize their purchases. There are also outdoor cafe tables for customers to enjoy their coffee and baked delights. This building is also nationally registered as an historic place which was once a harness shop in 1872 and is directly across the street from the famed White Horse Inn. This is a cozy, clean, relaxing and friendly place you'll want to visit while in the Metamora, Michigan area.

1 E High St, MetamoraWhat an amazing venue for a sunny afternoon luncheon! Super friendly and attentive waitress, amazing food and beverage choices and the uniquely historic atmosphere is an absolute treat. The wood round walkway, weathered plank flooring, wild horse mural and warm historic decor, we were totally captivated! The weather was ideal for us to dine outdoors under the umbrellas. There was ample parking. Fortunately, we were there on a weekday as rumor has it that it gets very busy on the weekends. For lunch, I enjoyed a glass of white wine along with the Warm Grilled Chicken salad which was loaded wild greens, fruits and veggies served with artisan bread and butter. Portions are generous and prices were as expected but not totally ridiculous. If you're looking for a memorable night out in the Metamora area, I highly recommend that you add White Horse Inn to your culinary adventures list!

Great Lakes Dog Rescue
4079 S Lapeer Rd, MetamoraMy family visited four different shelters while on the search for a new furry friend, and I was blown away by the compassion and commitment of everyone we encountered in the rescue community. Great Lakes Dog Rescue was no exception. The director was incredibly responsive to my questions and went above and beyond to schedule a meet and greet. While we ultimately did not find the right match for my slightly neurotic beagle here, I was incredibly appreciative of the effort they put into finding forever homes for the dogs in their care.
Please don’t hesitate to look at this wonderful organization when adding a new four-legged family member! Adopt, don’t shop!
