“Great car wash for Teslas! Tommy’s uses an automatic belt system instead of the traditional rail that guides your wheels, so you can simply roll onto the belt without worrying about a rail scraping underneath the car.
One tip for Tesla owners: most of the time the belt is still moving when you pull on. You can use Car Wash Mode and enable Free Roll, but I’ve found it easier to pull onto the belt, press the brake, and select Neutral using the overhead controls.
Overall, it’s a great car wash and definitely Tesla-friendly. My only complaint is that they could do a much better job with the tire shine and wax. For the price of the top-tier package, I expected both to be noticeably better, especially the tire shine.
I personally would avoid Mister Car Wash with a Tesla—their rail scraped underneath my car near the control arm/wheel area. Tommy’s belt setup gives me a lot more peace of mind.”
“6/20/26 Overall positive results with my car for the 2nd tier that covers undercarriage. Only downside is the driveway to the Saginaw Bay Road location has some potholes that need to be fixed. Staff are friendly and the vacuums work well although they don’t wrap around and you need to snake through your vehicle to get to passenger sides. They have purchasable towels available although I have not tried them. Nice light show inside for kids too.”
“I wish they would push in the mirrors on my pickup. Most just stand there smile and wave. I am older crippled up and have to get out to fold in my mirrors before going through the wash, especially on the right side of my truck.”
