6281 Barney Rd, Traverse CityWe have used Tulmar for 8 or 9 years with two different poodles and 2 different cats. Grooming and boarding for each dog and just boarding for the cats. Heather is experienced and lovely. Her staff are nice too. Each of our poodles happily enter for their “spa” day. The only time I was disappointed in a cut was when they had to cut her shorter because it was best for the dog. What is best for the animal is always #1.

Our first visit was just a yearly check up for our girl and they were so kind and good with her as her puppy lab behavior still hasn’t worn off. Our second visit, I had to bring my toddler and they met me at my car to get my dog as they saw I had my toddler, took the dog inside and into the room, totally accommodated our experience to make it as easy as possible for a mom with a toddler and dog. On top of great pet care, they are great at pet parent interaction. I wish I could leave 10/5 stars.

You can tell they all have a passion for what they do! Recently, we called at the last minute for an unexpected trip and they worked hard to successfully accommodate him into an already busy schedule. While it doesn’t always work out this way we were grateful for the effort they always make for their customers and canine guests! We highly recommend Beau’s and wish we could keep them all for ourselves instead of telling the world about them, but seeing how happy our dog is when he goes there is worth sharing!!!!

541 W Front St, Traverse CityModern Bird absolutely delivered. From the moment we sat down, the experience exceeded expectations. We sat at the kitchen counter seats, which ended up being one of the best parts of the night. Being able to interact with the chefs throughout the meal and talk with the expediter, who I believe was the manager, gave the whole experience a level of energy and authenticity you do not get at many restaurants. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely engaged with us throughout the evening.
The food was phenomenal across the board. Every dish felt intentional, balanced, and extremely well executed. You can tell there is real talent in the kitchen and a team that genuinely cares about quality and presentation without becoming pretentious about it.
What stood out most was how much the restaurant overdelivered. It is rare for a place to build hype and still exceed expectations, but Modern Bird absolutely did that. By far one of the best meals I have had in Northern Michigan and somewhere I will gladly recommend and return to.

They had amazing food, coffee and service! Someone recommended the breakfast sandwich that had Homemade sourdough from a local bakery down the road and it did not disappoint. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy and authentic coffee shop to represent the up north!

When we came in Stephanie’s warmth, charm and friendliness met us at the door! She chatted with us about the restaurant and how it’s a product of her and her husband’s love for food. Everything is sourced from specific farmers so they know where all their ingredients are coming from! ? Our sever Vynessa ? was AMAZING, took great care of us, gave recommendations, chatted with us and poured love into her service! The food…. Holy smokes, it was so effing good! We had risotto, the flavors and textures just complemented each other perfectly, the best risotto I’ve ever had. The quiche was just as good and had great ingredients of rapini, sweet potato, broccoli, carmalized onions and more! We also had roasted potatoes and bacon sausage. We grabbed a scone and cinnamon roll to go, haven’t tried them at the time of posting this review. Please go here, support small, support local and have some of the best food of your life! P.S. it was so good, we went back the next day and it was just as wonderful! ?

201 E Fourteenth St, Traverse CityWe did the production tour before coming here. Highly recommend the tour! Paris did an excellent job of informing us on their craft. We sampled basically everything they made as part of the tour and enjoyed most of them! Left with a few bottles.
The Stillhouse is a small but mighty location, seemed like enough space inside and out (we went in the off season). Typical cocktail bar, really. There was also a food truck there when we went.
