“place like this smells of coffee and ghosts. the walls are tired but proud, a hundred years of men and women chasing the next fair, the next dollar, the next big meal before the long road. they don’t polish the counters here — they just wipe off the crumbs, pour you a coffee that burns just right, and hand you a sandwich that could silence a preacher. thick bread, meat stacked like someone still believes in you.

the old fan hums overhead, the same sound you hear when you’re too broke to quit and too stubborn to stop. the guy behind the counter has eyes that have seen every kind of customer — dreamers, drunks, and drifters. he doesn’t ask what you do, but he knows. this place is for the working ones, the ones who eat standing up, staring out the window, thinking about the next ride to fix, the next tent to tear down.

you take a bite and it hits like truth — nothing fancy, just right. Bread, meats, and soul. the kind of meal that reminds you life can still taste good, even when it’s hard as hell.

Charles would’ve probably wiped the mustard off his chin, lit a smoke, and called that one “a damn fine sandwich.””

“This store is great. It has a lot of items packed into a not very large business space, and I like the variety. I really wish there was more than one Trader Joe’s in Saint Paul, it seems really popular, there’s always a lot of customers in there.
I feel like Trader Joe’s frozen foods are of a better quality than a lot of equivalent frozen items in other places. This store has a lot of produce in it for such a small produce area.
They have a great selection of cheese for such a small store also. I love that they import a lot of items, I like that they have a coffee grinder on site, and the staff are helpful. Trader Joe’s brands everything with their own labeling, so if someone is new to the store they might expect to find common brands in there and will not. However, Trader Joe’s have really good products. Many of them are made with more natural ingredients, and many of them cost slightly less than their counterparts at other stores.
It’s also a great place to find unusual or seasonal items you might not find anyplace else. Theres a lot of seasonal themed flavors going on here over a range of products at any given time of year.
They don’t do delivery apps so you need to go into the store in person to shop. I see that as the only negative, but the store views it as positive. They like in person customers at TJs and are trying not to use Instacart and things like it, this limits how much disabled people who have a hard time in winter can shop there.
Other than that, I find their whole business model and products very positive.”

“First, if you've never been to Trader Joe's just go... GO! Nuff said there.

This is a big and well-staffed TJs. Excellent selection of fresh and frozen foods. My favorites are the pre-made salads and frozen international foods.

Oh, and candy. Above the frozen foods rows of the most amazing selection of candy from around the world. ?”

“I love the deli case at the nice time market. They also have a great selection of ice cream from Bridgemans and local eggs. A lot of their seasonal produce is organic and much less expensive as supposed to the Co-op. Oh, and there made fresh sandwiches are delicious for lunch.”

It’s unbelievable the stuff I have found there….many times in a pinch they have saved me a trip to the dreaded Cub.

“My wife and I visited Addis Market as part of making sure we have ingredients for cooking Ethiopian food at home. The store keeper is very friendly and helpful with beginner questions. The market has a good variety of lentils and spices and two kinds of electric mitads (griddles for cooking injera) and a variety of Ethiopian coffee and prepared injera and Ethiopian wheat loaves. We will visit again.”

“It’s an interesting find in the heart of Lyn Lake. Has been there for ages. There is mostly Greek food, from feta, olives, and other Greek items you can’t find in the city. There is a great selection of Slavic and Arabic groceries.”

“From the moment we stepped in the door we’re so welcoming and helpful. They explained what every dish was and gave us great recommendations. Every single thing we tasted was excellent. You can tell years of knowledge and experience went into cooking the food here. I’d recommend this place again and again.”

“Adam's is the place to go. Every single night, my roommates and I haul over to Adam's for a sweet treat to end off the night. I genuinely sit and chat with Dennis and Carlos for hours on end. The momma cat had her kittens and they are cute as ever. Great place to boost your morale.”

“It's a small but very nice place! They have a large selection of bulk items such as grains, nuts, seeds, dried fruits, coffee, tea, herbs, seasonings, honey, molasses, and even things like bulk tahini and soaps! They dont have a list of what they have, which is unfortunate but its still enjoyable”

“Friendly and well stocked neighborhood market. The prices can be a bit higher than big supermarkets but it's honestly so much easier to pop in and quickly grab what you need than at bigger stores.”

“Great store! You never know what you're going to find here, but I promise you will always find something! They offer dry groceries, cooler groceries, and frozen groceries! With grocery store prices rising, this should be the place you stop before heading to a big box store! Staff is always friendly and store is always clean! Love this hidden gem!”

“My experience at this market was absolutely wonderful! The place is clean, well-organized, and offers a wide variety of products that suit all tastes. The prices are very reasonable compared to the excellent quality. What impressed me the most was the staff — they were friendly, helpful, and always eager to make customers happy. I highly recommend visiting this market; it’s truly one of the best shopping spots in the area!”

“I relocated from the northwest metro and usually visit this location at least twice a week. The selection of items is good, the prices are very good and the checkout and customer service is excellent. Each employee that I have encountered has been wonderful, cordial and super quick on checking out my items. And when
I left my wallet on the bagging counter, one of the customers returned it and I avoided the dread of "lost wallet syndrome". I really enjoy shopping here and hopefully everyone feels the same as I do.”

“Great Aldi location. Great selection of groceries. Prices are Aldi prices which is great. Products are well organized and easy to read.

Products were all stocked and we didn't have issues finding what we needed.

There are self-checkout stations here, which is very convenient.”

“I love it here, but I wish they had security. I get approached from behind by men at my car asking for something every single time I'm walking out, no exaggeration.”

“So delicious! I love that this company is local. They offer amazing varieties too. Some of our favorite are the wasabi nut mix and the original toffee peanuts. We also love the peppermint stick yogurt covered pretzels during the holidays.”

“Very nice people, very diverse, and really all sorts of amazing food, trinkets, cloths, and essential oils. I've been going to Galaxy Food International since I was a kid and I am never EVER disappointed with the beautiful selection they have. Overall I recommend this store to everyone.”

“Quality everywhere uou turn. Just So expensive! I know COG has gone up everywhere but really? I have seen the exact item in other stores selling an average of a $1 to $2 more at Kowalski's. Especially fresh items. I.e. Boarshead meats sold all over $1 to $2 a pound more!! Life is hard.”

“The best Hmong grocery store and deli in the twin cities if you want to shop at a place that is clean and updated. Good parking when it's not too busy. Properly stocked most of the time too.”

4.4 Superb94 Reviews

“If you can find what you’re looking for on sale it’s probably worth it but alot of these prices are starting to just not make sense anymore. I realize it’s a convenience grocery store and that’s OK because it is convenient, but I just don’t buy everything from this spot as a lot of it’s quite unaffordable”

“Nice place. Some of my favorite products from back home. But Everytime I go back I feel prices are higher and higher! I'm gonna have to say goodbye for now.”

4.5 Superb103 Reviews

“Great selection of fresh organic produce and some surprising vegan/plant-based options! Way better than Aldi!! Plus, the cashier was super friendly and informed us about their other location too.”

4.6 Superb107 Reviews

“Aldi has great prices on bananas, avocados, coffee creamer, and bread. I'm there a lot, certainly not buying as much as some of the people there. But don't get discouraged by someone with a full cart in front of you - the cashiers ring like fire, you only get hung up by the person trying to pay or get their groceries out of the way so you can be wrong.”
