“My wife and I visited Addis Market as part of making sure we have ingredients for cooking Ethiopian food at home. The store keeper is very friendly and helpful with beginner questions. The market has a good variety of lentils and spices and two kinds of electric mitads (griddles for cooking injera) and a variety of Ethiopian coffee and prepared injera and Ethiopian wheat loaves. We will visit again.”
“Between this place and Tim and Tom’s, St. Anthony Park has absolutely nailed the adorable, community-driven, grocery vibe. Excellent selection for the size, nice to go items, lovely staff, easy enough parking, and prices are competitive for a co-op. I love that stops at Hampden are a regular part of my week.”
“Always have beautiful flowers, delicious fruits & out favorite cookie butter ice cream. The employees are always so friendly too. Love the more unique options here than common grocery stores”
“Great store! You never know what you're going to find here, but I promise you will always find something! They offer dry groceries, cooler groceries, and frozen groceries! With grocery store prices rising, this should be the place you stop before heading to a big box store! Staff is always friendly and store is always clean! Love this hidden gem!”
“In a world of giant grocery stores, Tim & Tom's Speedy Market reminds you why neighborhood markets still matter. Friendly faces, great grab-and-go meals, quality produce, and the kind of service that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit.”
“Absolutely amazing place and service. Light spanish knowledge required but I managed just fine. Way better prices than across the street. Food was DELICIOUS! I will definately be back!”
“I've been a member for years and I generally really enjoy shopping here.
That said, I just witnessed a front end coordinator who was in the store shopping open up a checkout lane for himself despite the fact that there were several people waiting at the one checkout that was open.
He just ignored the line of people and plopped his groceries down at another lane and then an employee showed up and started checking him out.
The person behind me saw what happened and kindly let me go ahead of her at the newly opened checkout lane because I had been waiting longer than she had.
Abusing your leadership position to get special treatment is poor leadership.”
“The NYT recently posted a Peruvian chicken recipe, and I found this nice store when I went looking for ingredients. The owner was so nice, gave me some great tips, and introduced me to a few things I had never used before. The dinner that I served was amazing, and I’m so glad to have found this great business!”
“Good selection of sauces, rice, and well-stocked fresh veggies, I like getting fresh mint and basil. The prices are very reasonable and the checkout was fast and courteous. I recommend Teepwo Market.”
“Specialty ? melons and deli items
Love their Alaskan seafood specials and fresh vegetables. In a hyper-competitive grocery market Kowalski's stands above the others.”
“I come here just for the meat skewers. Just off the green line. Where else can you randomly get one BBQ pork skewer ($3.50), one sweet pork skewer ($1.50), one chicken wing skewer ($2), and sticky rice in a bamboo tube ($3) on a whim for lunch?”
“I can get a few items here I can't get anywhere else . It's a little spendy but everything is top quality. Been shopping here for many years , will continue to do so.”
“Get the food here. The salsas and guac in the fridge. All your seasonings. It’s amazing. The food is affordable and so tasty. And they are very generous with the portions. We’ve gotten the enchiladas verde from the food counter as well as a couple pounds of birria on the weekends and the food never misses. I love their spicy green salsa cremiosa and the salsa molcajete. So just try it, and thank me later!”
“It was very busy with folks preparing for the blizzard warning. Yet, we were in and out in about 30 minutes. Good selection of fresh vegetables, bread, frozen and hot food.”
“(The review posted by S W is for a completely different place!) Very pleasant little shop. They didn't have exactly what I was looking for, but they definitely have a wider selection of Hmong oriented grocery than chains like Walmart, Cub, Target, Aldi, etc... I also liked that everything is priced individually so there's no confusion.”
“Great place to pick up woman (respectfully) if you are looking for a healthy sophisticated woman look no further! Mississippi market is the hottest new place for singles in your area to find the love of there life.”
“Never had Thai food before but holy cow… this is must! I thought it was a small grocery store with a deli… but the deli is Thai food! Definitely stop and try it!”
“I’m a native Chicagoan who knows his hometown’s hole in the wall spots as well as some Michelin starred restaurants, so I was looking for a legit taco joint to add to the growing list of places where I can grab quality grub. This supermercado has some authentic tacos with salsas that stand out there with what my mom (Rest in Power) would make for us at home. These aren’t gourmet tacos that also have their place in but just what you need on a fine afternoon if one is picking up some house chorizo or fresh Mexican queso fresco or some non-preservative tortillas at the counter. Throughly enjoyed the 7 tacos I got of all varieties (went back for four more after having 3) and will be coming back with my son to try their menudo on the weekends. Nothing fancy. But this isn’t about that.”
“Decent size market to go get your groceries, from vegetables, fruits, meats, noodles etc. Their Hot food is also very good.
Stopped in today go pick up a tray of their Beef Brisket and that was very very good.
If you haven't tried it I would recommend it.”
“Good clean grocery store. Large selection of items. Most things are not in English so use your Google camera to translate for you. The place doesn't smell, I only mention this because I hear other ppl complain that other stores smell.
I was pleased and will be returning.”
“This was a pretty cool spot! I liked the variety of fruits they had and other items you can get. I stopped in a while ago to grab a deli item, steam rolls, and it was decent and the portion is pretty generous.
If you tend to get overwhelmed easily I would not come here. The route to get here is confusing and the parking lot is terrible. There are soooo many potholes and there are no parking lines so you kind of guess if that is a spot or maybe leave with a few door dings. Another thing is the check out area: there isn’t a spot that says “Line forms here” so customers create multiple lines. When you are done checking out, you have to go against the flow of people and that is a bit awkward.”
“Very nice people, very organized, clean and you can find easily for what you are looking for. Everything you need from the Philippines. ?? you can get and buy here. and also easy to park. There's a Filipino restaurant inside the store, open during weekends. The foods are tasty ? ?”
“Live very close to here and its super convenient having a little grocery so close by. Their produce is not always the best but their meat sections more than makes up for it. If you're looking for fresh good meat with a large variety of cuts this is the place.”
“Great neighborhood market. Fresh produce, always have ripe ready to go avocados all year long, and solid pantry staples section (beans, salsa, local made corn tortillas, just found so baked tostadas that were great). Staff is friendly and helpful in English or Spanish.”
“I love the place. I have to disagree with the people who say the meet of produce goes bad quickly, that is just not true. I have used meat up to the use by date, and never had a problem. I cannot say that about meat I bought at other stores, unfortunately. The prices on some items are half what they are on sale at Cubs, and I cannot taste a difference. If anything, their stuff is fresher, because most of it is turned over daily. If you are looking to save money on groceries, and you hate coupons (I do!), then this is the best place to buy all your staples.”
“I've shopped in Mississippi market for many years and I just love it. My favorite is the one on Selby and Dale. Not huge so you don't need a map to shop The produce is beautifully fresh and all the food is wonderful. They have a few gifts and a nice personal care section with vitamins as well. They have bulk foods. They have a little deli.”
“I'm not sure if this is a Mexican or a Latin grocery store but they have lots of items I remember from growing up. I used to think everyone had rice and beans with all their meals. Memories.”
“They’ve been working on the grocery section for up to five years now but the liquor store is open. I don’t really drink but I can tell you the staff is very friendly as this is also a UPS access point I frequent monthly.”
“I COME TO THIS STORE DAMN NEAR EVERYDAY …. THEY ARE SOOOO WELCOMING AND RESPECTFUL AND TREAT YOU LIKE FAMILY …. WHATEVER YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THEY GO ABOVE AND BEYOND TO ACCOMMODATE YOU THE BEST THEY CAN AND WHEN THEY AREN'T ABLE TO BEST BELIEVE THEY DON’T FORGET BECAUSE NEXT TIME YOU COME IN THEY WILL HAVE IT …. I APPRECIATE THIS STORE IN SO MANY WAYS THEY HAVE BEEN A BLESSING TO ME EVEN IN MY TOUGHEST TIMES THEY ALWAYS ASK IF IM OK OR REMIND ME TO SMILE …. I WILL ALWAYS ASK GOD TO CONTINUE TO BLESS THIS STORE BECAUSE THEY ARE A TRUE BLESSING TO THE COMMUNITY. I WILL ALWAYS COME HERE AND SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS NO MATTER WHAT AND POUR INTO THEM AS THEY HAVE POURED INTO ME. “No, you don't understand. This is the best bodega. Their philly slaps, they carry RC cola and strawberry Arizona arnie palmer. Their prices are fair and they are friendly. This is the spot to go.”
