The market has a good variety of lentils and spices and two kinds of electric mitads (griddles for cooking injera) and a variety of Ethiopian coffee and prepared injera and Ethiopian wheat loaves.     “Get the food here. The salsas and guac in the fridge. All your seasonings. It’s amazing. The food is affordable and so tasty. And they are very generous with the portions. We’ve gotten the enchiladas verde from the food counter as well as a couple pounds of birria on the weekends and the food never misses. I love their spicy green salsa cremiosa and the salsa molcajete. So just try it, and thank me later!”

That said, I just witnessed a front end coordinator who was in the store shopping open up a checkout lane for himself despite the fact that there were several people waiting at the one checkout that was open. He just ignored the line of people and plopped his groceries down at another lane and then an employee showed up and started checking him out. The person behind me saw what happened and kindly let me go ahead of her at the newly opened checkout lane because I had been waiting longer than she had. Abusing your leadership position to get special treatment is poor leadership.”

    “The food here is legit. So far I've tried the Pad Kra Pao, Eggrolls and pad Thai. Their Pad Thai is hands down the best Pad Thai I've had in the twin cities and brings me back to Thailand every time I have it. Meat is cooked perfectly, tons of flavor and they throw a little tofu into the mix. I love spice and typically always order the spiciest option restaurants have available. Prime and On's are the only places I've found in the twin cities where I go down a spice level. If you're trying to decide between two I'd recommend going down a level. The only downside is it's relatively expensive compared to other options nearby but portions are really decent and it's worth it. Ordering in person or calling to order and paying cash helps avoid the credit card fee they automatically charge when you order online. Definitely best as a takeout spot but they do have some outdoor and indoor seating and a variety of drinks that aren't all on their online menu which isn't always accurate. Highly recommended!!”

The time I spent checking the place out, I noticed how clean, tidy, well organized & 99% well stocked on all items (except I did see skim milk). But I did see products i don’t see at any other corner stores or any store I’d expect to find it. How many corner stores sell jewelry for (a few, not all) body piercings or candy you haven’t seen for 20 years or a hookah pipe (water pipe)? One think I don’t recall seeing is a self-serve beverage or food bar. But I did see ashtray/butt container that lights up, extinguishes and/or contains the odor. If you’re one of few that smokes cigarettes & buys by the carton, you might find a little something extra in your bag. Just an old-school corner store with friendly employees and some unique items.”

  • Kroger Pouring $112 Million Into Central Ohio, Including Two New Stores

    Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.

  • Loblaw Plans to Open 70 New Stores and Spend $2.4 Billion in 2026

    Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
