“Always a great morning at the Alliance Française Petit Déj!”
The first Saturday of every month is such a treat — a lovely light breakfast, great conversation, and the perfect chance to meet new friends and practice your French. The atmosphere is always warm, welcoming, and full of good vibes. A wonderful way to start the weekend! ??☕?”

“On my way to the American Swedish Association it was a great experience to visit our neighbours here in Minneapolis. Unfortunately due to preparations for the Holiday season and cafeteria renovations my pitstop was fast & furious.
Gift shop was limited and got the suggestion to visit the 103 year old store nearby called Ingebretsen a couple of blocks away.

Note: although this area of the town used to be where the upperclassmen were located today you will find global immigration from Africa, Latin America and other countries all mixed. The fact that the Norway House decided to stay in the area is a recognition in diversity and inclusion. We discussed this in length with the cashier in the store!”

“My son has been attending music class through our daycare center for several months. I love that he gets to experience different instruments and songs. He has also begun to sing songs to himself at home which he didn't do previously.”

“This is an amazing resource for the city. I've gotten so much done with these tools, learned a ton, saved heaps of money, and don't have to deal with the maintenance/clutter of owning tools. The staff are kind and knowledgeable, and the large variety of tools are in good repair.”

“I’ve been bringing my vehicle to The Lift Garage for over three years and always had positive experiences, until my most recent visit on 9/12/2024, which completely broke my trust in this shop.

After my vehicle was inspected, it suddenly wouldn’t stay started, even though it was running fine before. Joe, the Shop Director, told me they didn’t know what was wrong and would need to keep my car for a few more days. He was condescending and dismissive, staring me down without blinking and seeming pleased to inform me that nothing would be done. His attitude made it clear that my concerns didn’t matter—either I accept what he was offering or get nothing.

To make matters worse, I had already reported this issue during a previous visit, but it was overlooked by the mechanics. After paying for those repairs, I returned to say the issue wasn’t resolved, but they claimed they couldn’t find anything wrong. This left me skeptical, and now this recent experience has confirmed my concerns.

What really pushed this over the edge was when I tried to assert myself and express my frustration, Joe threatened to call the police on me and have me escorted out. As a long-time customer, I was shocked by this treatment.

The Lift Garage serves low-income individuals and underserved communities, and the staff should be trained to handle customers with more empathy and care, given the challenges many face. Instead, I was met with hostility and a complete lack of respect.

I’m deeply disappointed and will be reconsidering whether I continue bringing my vehicle here.

Update: I was immediately contacted by the director and told that this person was no longer an employee and that my continued business would be appreciated. This man’s behaviors was not in line with what the company represents or his training. When I came back to get my vehicle serviced staff was really compassionate with me about this situation. They have made this situation right and I really appreciate that.”

“CAA has been advocating for animals since 1998. Aside from regular fun events and meetups, they also host the enormous Twin Cities VegFest (typically held in September) and organize the Vegan Chef Challenge, which gets restaurants to be creative about adding vegan options. The Twin Cities and Minnesota are fortunate to have CAA thriving and advocating!”

“Brilliant classes with equally brilliant and creative classes. I’ve gone from thinking about a book idea to actually creating it thanks to the common sense and creative approach that exists here. I’m more than a little enthusiastic about the mission of The Loft.”

“Great selection! Some of the reviewers here clearly don’t know the effort that goes into not just being a shop, but also PRIMARILY a safe space for many women to gather. Me being a customer comes secondarily to me financially supporting this space.”

“PPL are my apartment "landlords" and have been since they accepted as well as rescued my daughter and I out of the PSP homeless shelter for women and children 4 years ago. They are absolutely wonderful! All employees are caring, compassionate, genuine and ALWAYS willing to help or lend a hand (or ear if needed!). There isn't enough good things I can say about PPL.”

“The Bridge for Youth is an outstanding resource for the community! Along with help to shelter homeless youth of the Twin Cities, they have grown over the years to offer so much more than just that. It is a safe, clean, relaxed environment where youth can go to find the resources they need to get off the streets. They offer case management to help navigate the resources that are out there and for youth, and will hopefully become an incredible asset for you or the person you know that could really use the help of their non-judgmental services. Do yourself a favor and contact them rightaway, it might just be the best thing out there for those that need it and it wouldn't hurt just to give them a call and see if it's right for you. I'm writing this review with firsthand knowledge, take my advice and give them a call, it could change your life for the better as I know it has for someone I know, and countless other young adults who had found themselves on the streets and didn't know were to go or who they could turn to for help. They partner with many other organizations who's goal is to see youth succeed in this game called life! Oh and if this review was helpful please give it a thumbs up so that I know itactually reached someone, thanks, and I decided to include a couple nighttime photos of the Bridge because let's face it, that's the time of day where we would be thinking about where are we gonna lay our head tonight! I wish you luck on your journey, I know it's hard at times, just try to keep your head up and do your best to get through whatever challenges life presents you with, and smile because you just found a great resource to help with some of them challenges! Thanks for reading, I hope this review helps! :-)”
