“Very nice Aldi's very clean lots of space clerks are very friendly. Everything was stocked real well and they were stacking when I was there easy to park and easy to get to will definitely go again. Update 6 16 26 - I haven't been to this Aldi's in a while and forgot how nice it was! Everything was so well stocked and the clerks and everybody were very helpful check out was super easy. 8 16 update They've got their torn up so it's a little hard to get there but I came in the back way. I was disappointed cuz even though they've been advertising some of their fall and Halloween things they really had nothing. And they didn't have much for clearance for summer I guess I'm too much in between the seasons?”

“Lakewinds Food Co-Op is a plant-based oasis in an area that is very meat heavy. While they have plenty to choose from for all diets, we were thoroughly impressed by the plethora of vegan options, including store-made and local baked goods, a crazy collection of Daiya Pizza’s and an array of meat alternatives. Would recommend for local vegans! And anyone looking to recoup on their investment with member discounts and end of your reimbursement! If I lived here, we’d shop this store weekly!!”

“Very clean, well organized, and stocked location. Produce always fresh. Not usually very crowded, and the Pharmacy Staff is very nice. But the parking lot causes them to lose a whole star, and it's not even their fault. But it's almost like a trap - there are 3 or 4 ways in, but only one way out. Then heaven forbid you want to cross over to the shopping center next door... I dread it every time. Otherwise, it's a lovely store.”
“Lunds has superior quality. The prices are only slightly higher than other stores if you compare all products, but the quality is much better. If you shop with their regular promotions, the price is much lower. They use profits from previous year(s) to discount high quality produce for customers. They have competitive partnerships other local grocery store chains don't have due to being around for longer and having that historical old money advantage. If you shop selectively, the prices are lower. The source of the products is superior to similar stores like Kowalskis (ask an employee - they invest in months of training to teach employees where products actually come from). Lunds also uses profits from previous years to run big promotional discounts for customers. You can get very high quality salmon for just 15$/lb, for example. The Lunds CEO works alongside his employees unlike other local stores' higher-ups who install cameras and accuse employees of theft. In fact, a local grocery store chain was sued by their union for taking advantage of part-time too much. Lunds actively works with its union instead of running smear campaigns against it to employees. The way they treat employees trickles down to how they treat customers, and they have a good history of making leaps and bounds above other local chains.”
“I love having Whole Foods near my neighborhood. It would be awesome if WF opened another store on the extreme west side of the Western Suburbs where there is a lot of new construction and new neighborhoods going up. Now here's my constructive feedback - please step up your hot bar and try some new recipes. Usually the hot bar is barely filled up and often there is not enough for one serving. The food that is served is always the same and all the food is WAY too spicy hot - not everyone likes to have their mouth on fire when eating a meal. Perhaps for those who want the burn, have hot chili pepper flakes or other hot spices or hot sauces available to pour on their food after they've filled their to-go containers. I do love the super fresh organic produce and the great selection of other organic healthy food!”
Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.
Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
