“I’ve been coming here for my last 5 or 6 pairs of running shoes. I enjoy the customer service and the opportunity to try pairs on compared to shopping online. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable but not pushy, and stock is generally very good for the store’s size. Prices are high and sales seem few and far between but that is not unique to this store, more of a problem with the 2026 running gear market in general. Shoutout to Ruby who was very helpful today in helping me pick out a pair of Brooks. All in all I would recommend this store to any runner in mpls!”
“UPDATE: MCR very quickly showed me why they’re so beloved. Within hours, they reached out to me and have gone out of their way to make things right. Anyone quick to critique must also be quick to praise. One-offs happen, and I look forward to giving them more business in the future.
I was thrilled to visit the shop within minutes of opening for an ACG clothing release today. I picked two items off the rack, tried them on in the fitting room, and approached the register. Upon ringing me up, I was informed both items had already been allocated to online orders and that they would not sell them to me. It would seem ~100% of physical inventory was allocated to the website despite the effort made by Nike and MCR on the in-person shopping buildout (a custom facade for the front of the store, signage, etc). If you want to buy something from MCR on its launch day, don’t waste your time going to the store when it opens — Buy it online, because that’s who they cater to. Advice to MCR: Keep online and in-store stock separate for a day, or at least until the afternoon. Inventory management systems mistakes still happen though— Your brick-and-mortar shopper with items in-hand and on-body should supersede online orders 100% of the time. Cancelling an order to someone’s face after they walked all the way into your storefront is wild.”

“Man like, I get people dissing my board and stuff but then I dont have the monyes dawg, I just came here the skate park, but like I would go here to get my board or snowboard fixed up or get a new one there cuz this place is dope man. I came here for the indoor park, would come back for the indoor park and new board. And they got like a mini park for your tech deck, and this place is good if you got the social anxieities cuz like I do and aint nobody bother me and everybody chill and stuff.”

“I went to the St. Louis Park location knowing it had a warehouse, in hope of purchasing a massage chair and taking it home that day. I spoke with Greg Grillo and he showed me the many massage chairs they have on the floor. He is very kind and knowledgeable and took the time to listen to my needs. I ended up purchasing a Synca Circ and I absolutely love it! It has helped with my back pain and sore muscles post workout. “Own 7 iron through lob wedge of Wedgewood clubs. Once you get used to the slightly heavier club, you'll find yourself hitting the ball higher with a more solid feel. Other golfers keep asking me where I got the clubs. The only minus of the clubs is the headcovers -- they are not very durable. A couple of mine have frayed badly.”

“HQ located in Ridgedale Center in Minnetonka Minnesota is hands down the coolest sports store to buy Vikings jerseys, other types of paraphernalia for the Minnesota Twins karma golden Gophers, Minnesota Wild and the Timberwolves.
They have replica helmets, jerseys, autographed memorabilia, photos, baseballs, and clothing for adults as well as children just to name a few items that they carry. The owner Shawn is extremely knowledgeable in this area and can help you find whatever you're looking for. It's the perfect place to buy a gift for someone in your life who loves the Minnesota sports teams.
They are also well known for all the autograph events that they have. They bring in celebrities throughout the sports world including players on all the professional sports teams in Minnesota as well as some retired athletes like Brett Favre. They have a calendar of events and it's very easy to be involved and get one of your items signed. I believe they also do photo opportunities along with that.
Fan HQ has also done some cool music events in town including an evening with Lita Ford from the runaways, Ace Frehley of kiss, Tommy Thayer of kiss, Bruce Kulick of kiss and other amazing musicians. If you've never been to the store you need to stop and visit. At the very least find them on socials and follow them for all the incredible events that they host”
“This soccer shop is the best soccer shop in Minnesota. The store has many recent and past club kits including MNUFC, Liverpool, Burnley, Manchester City, and Tottenham. The store also had many other soccer related products which were amazing. The owner was very kind, very nice to talk to, and the best part is that he is from England and actually watches soccer. If I could give this store more than five stars I would.”

Simply put, the people at General Sports are THE hockey skate experts in the Twin Cities (they're undoubtedly among the best in Minnesota, and it's probably not too much of a stretch to call them among some of the best in the country). Ever since my first skate fitting by Matt Haapala many years ago I have recommended General Sports to my friends, and I won't go anywhere else for anything skate-related. The entire staff: Matt, Dallas, Brendan.... they know their stuff inside-and-out, stand by their products and the services they provide, and care about the experience you have on the ice.

“Benjamin T. at Pierce single-handedly saved my daughter's ski racing season. My daughter's ankle was very painful in her current ski boots, and I didn't think she'd be able to ski very much for her teams for the rest of the year. We went to Pierce and Benjamin fit her into an appropriate ski boot. He then molded the boot to offload the painful spot on her ankle. When we left the store my daughter smiled and said this is the best my foot has felt in ski boots all year.”
