The Hilton Garden Inn Jackson Downtown is housed in a beautiful, historic building with a gorgeous entrance and lobby. Reviews on its location are mixed, with some finding it very good for walking, while others note the surrounding area feels dangerous and unkempt. Parking is valet-only at an additional cost. The staff receives praise for being very nice and awesome, though service is inconsistent; some team members are super helpful while others seem uninterested or understaffed, leading to delays. The hotel is generally clean, but maintenance is a significant concern. Guests report issues with room air conditioning being ineffective or overly powerful, broken items like safes and hair dryers, a lack of bath supplies and towels, and a pool area with visible water leaks. The on-site bar and restaurant are considered super nice but insanely expensive and close early, with food service being slow. While the property has historic charm, operational and maintenance problems are frequent.
Close to where I was going but also close to a lot of the ugly parts of the city. Rooms were pretty dirty. Beds were clean but floors were filthy (socks, food, garbage..) Water in shower starts out brown and toilet ran all night.

We were traveling and late for check in. The staff was very accommodating to us!

Only came in to get food from their bar. Staff were super nice and recommended wings. Food was good. It’s within walking distance from train station as we were waiting for shuttle. I’m glad they had food while we waited.
