Moss Creek Fish House
413 Riverwind Dr, PearlI stopped by Moss while visiting Jackson, and the highlight was definitely the whole fried catfish. It was crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The hush puppies were also excellent—hot, fresh, and some of the best I’ve had.
The sides were a bit disappointing, though. The sweet potato fries lacked flavor and weren’t very crispy, and the cabbage didn’t stand out either.
The service started off well. Our waitress was friendly and attentive at first, but toward the end of the meal we were left waiting quite a while for the check. We eventually just went to the front to pay ourselves.
Overall, I’d absolutely come back for the catfish and hush puppies—they’re worth the visit. I just hope the sides and end-of-meal service are a little better next time.
