“I had about 1/4 tank of gas left. The gas station a couple miles away already had ran out. I had no intentions of coming here. But, this place looked kind of close to the interstate. The gas pump was old fashioned, like the stuff you used to see in California in the 70's. Luckily, I'm old and had seen this kind of pump before and knew how to operate it. The staff working there was nice and friendly and even struck up a nice conversation with me. It's a great little gas station with friendly people. A little far from the interstate, but, when there are no gas stations around, this is where I had to stop.”

I've been an off and on customer here since i was 16 which is about 10 years ago give or take. In 2016 when I lived in PB for a while I was here almost everyday. I've never liked the food here but the pizza is good and the fountain drinks are world class and sold at an excellent price. If I were to come back it would be for the fountain drinks but I'll tell you why my family and I will probably never come back or at least not in the short-term.
I have been treated poorly by employees here too many times. They have been rude, impatient, act annoyed by questions and don't know a lick of common courtesy. Not all of them but too many over the years and it's pretty important to filter out those types of people before hiring.
My biggest issue is this place seems to attract hostile customers that have harassed me and my family in the past multiple times. One time I'd like to mention that I'll never forget was a group of firefighters who mocked us for getting $10 in gas. It's disgusting some of the people who work for that city. I know I don't have to explain myself, but is it really so hard to imagine that maybe we don't buy gas outside of Doniphan unless we have to? Even when we have to, when we forget to fill up before leaving, we only get what we need to get back home then we fill up somewhere in Doniphan, but to these Bluffians, that seemed to be well known regulars, we were trash to bark at and we don't even look like trash. We are clean people and our children are clean and our truck is mostly clean most of the time. We had a toddler and a new born with us.. I can't imagine how just because from another's perspective one buys a small amount of gas and automatically they think they need to talk trash.
This place also seems to be a hotspot for people that are loud and obnoxious, blare their obscene music, and rev loud vehicles. This business needs to start running some of these trouble making customers off. There's no way that is good for business. The majority of customers in the world are quiet and don't appreciate this type of behavior. It really does seem to be a real issue with this particular store. I know I sound like I'm nagging but it's really that bad. This is the reason I didn't write a review but especially after the firefighters showing their true colors I felt inclined to leave a rating when I was prompted to.
Since they asked and were polite I changed my review from a 2-star to a 4-star and gave my thoughts. I don't mean to harm someone's business just because of emotions and the conduct of their employees and clientele. It's really a good store but for some reason attracts some less than desirable customers and a few employees I didn't care for. The responsibility to control the riffraff falls on the management so I can't justify 5-stars but I do appreciate their willingness to figure out what's wrong. I didn't assume there was much they could or would do if I contacted them so I didn't bother, but again I do appreciate them offering.
to summarize, we don't shop here anymore and it's been since before I left my 2-star rating. We just don't feel safe or comfortable here, but this store is great if that kind of thing doesn't bother you.

“I've literally never had a bad shopping experience whether it was getting fuel and or snacks food or drinks do they serve alcoholic beverages or down to my simple coffee in the morning each and every time I am presented with a smiling face and wonderful customer service the ladies and the gentlemen see you though they're all that was there unless they're in the back of course Cycles ladies at the front counter are some of the nicest you'll see and that's at both JD West and the North Village both facilities are a nice place to spend your time get something to eat quick bite fuel up or just have your morning coffee and have a good conversation with the folks have become regulars at these spots”

“They seem to be having an ongoing problem with the a/c keeping up. About every other time the store is muggy. It's not the employee's fault has much to do with cooperate.”
“I go in there almost every day and everyone is so kind and easy to talk to. They may be a little high on things but for me I don't have a car and I enjoy my three block walk and prices I don't mind bc I enjoy walking in, they make a point to say hi and ask how I'm doing.”
“I'm a new truck driver in the training and we stopped here to go to the restroom and maybe find something to grab to eat. The cashier I unfortunately didn't get her name but she was working on November 14th at 430 to 5pm was a sweet heart. She helped me out out of the kindness of her heart which I'm undoubtedly greatful. I wish others were like her and I'm happy to say if I ever have a route coming by here I'm stopping by again. Thank you for a wonderful experience.”
“Located inside of Walgreens. There's no drive up window for photos at this location. They have two kiosks there to pull pictures from your phone. Alot of times it only takes a few minutes to get them”

“Nice new station and pumps, dispensers, there is a learning curve to them. There are three nozzles. Diesel being the green, blue being a non-ethanol unleaded. And the third one which is off to the right, for the other three grades of unleaded. Haven’t made it into the new store yet, but everything looks nice. There is now passing room on the left and on the right of the gas pumps. This makes it a much nicer place to get gas.”
“I received the best customer service that I have ever received by a young polite man by the name of Michael at the CVS in Poplar Bluff, MO today on 07/03/2024. He greeted me with a smile, served me with a smile, and ended my service with a smile. I was a little scattered brain from working a 10 hour shift and dealing with family medical issues and he was so kind to help me get what I needed and assured that I was making my card purchases correctly to receive my discounts from my CVS card and my coupon. Thank you Michael. You were a blessing to me today. I wished this world was full of people with your character. Keep up the good work and don't lose that smile and excellent customer service skills.”

“This place is a staple of the poplar bluff area. Great food, truck parking, showers are $7! Cheapest gas in town. They have a few grocery items. It's a bit overpriced, but not outrageous.”
