“I love to visit indie bookstores everywhere I travel. I’ve been to so many! This was one of my favorites. The staff is so great! I loved the special decorative prints of the classics. Just an all around great place.”
“Overall, this was a great store. I did end up purchasing something from this store. Although it's not exactly what I wanted, I needed something and was short on time. So I'm going to have to make do with what I purchased. Staff was friendly at the register. There were 2 staff members wandering around the store. Neither one of them ever approached me and offered help.I will say that was kind of a downside to the store.”

“The Book House is packed with just about any book you can imagine and they have sales on the sidewalk. Plus they carry my friend Bruce Raisch books and cater to local authors. Go there for any book you have in mind. Robin was very helpful. They have two cats there that are fun. Plenty of free parking in the back too.”
“A great shop full of exceptionally priced gems. Brad is great, talking old music and spinning every new piece of vinyl he gets in with an open mind. Great prices given for used material, and he even threw in a fave of his to turn me on to something new! Might be my favorite used record store in the entire country, and I'll be saving my used discs to sell there whenever I'm on vacation. Also kindly offered advice for food and to hook me up with his disc golf buddies!!

“My husband and I stopped into Pauline Books and Media last week while in St. Louis. The woman and the religious sister there were so kind and helpful. I had to replace my very old and worn prayer book, and they had the exact updated version. And I found two excellent children's books as gifts. We made a visit into the Adoration Chapel as well, which was a wonderful surprise to see. I can't wait to return next time we are in the city.”
“If you are looking for popular Christian books, you should be able to find some here. It is a church bookstore, not a full-fledged bookstore, so you won't find thousands of titles. Prices are decent and there are always reduced priced books available.”
“This is a great little, local bookstore. Nice selection for it's size. Plenty of kids books to pick from. My favorite park is the shelf immediately inside the door has a large selection of Missouri interests, as well as St. Louis, and even Webster Groves books.”

“It’s off the beaten track, but well worth finding! A real Christian bookstore—something that has disappeared in this age of Amazon and CBD. You can go in, get information, hold Bibles and books in your hand to evaluate them. Just like the good old days. Friendly and encouraging. Go see it! By the way, you can order a book or Christian resource without having to pay shipping (at least if it comes from one of their suppliers, I assume). No ‘Minimum $50 orders” from Christian Book Distributors, for instance.”
“I got so many good books at a good price! And the staff was very friendly. I love how they have books on many topics I may not see at other bookstores and they also have holistic remedies such as teas and vitamins. They had a sale going on when I went and I was able to get a great deal.”

“I visited several times in the Fall 2025 semester as I was helping my daughter settle into Uni and on dorm. The merchandise is nice but overpriced I think and not all the Tshirts are good quality. Some are pretty thin. Management needs to remember the items are for students/parents/family primarily who are already spending tons on tuition and expenses. I bought a a magnet for the fridge and beneath the price was another tag with a much lower price. Not cool to do this, it's exploitery. Generally clean and the staff is helpful.”
“This place is a true gem, I wish there were stores like this. I spent a couple hours here looking at all the older books. Everything is grouped together really well with sections labeled clearly. It is tight in some spaces but that just means it's packed to the brim with goodness! They really have an excellent selection here and I especially loved looking at the antique books. The two gentlemen that worked here were very kind and helpful and I enjoyed chatting with them very much. If you're ever in the St. Louis area and you love books and/or bookstores, this is a must-see! I would give 10 stars if I could ☺”
“I just want to give a shout-out to Pat from the bookstore. My daughter had her signing day, and we did not have apparel for her big day. I called to see if it would be possible for us to order shirts and have them before her signing day. He told me yes and said to order online, and he would be on the lookout for the order. He not only received the order but followed up with an email saying it was shipped as we paid for next day shipping. I'm pleased to say we had the shirts in time for her signing day. Makes me even happier with my daughter's decision to play basketball at Webster University!!”
