19A Manchester Rd, DerryStopped at the Derry store tonight around 7pm to grab my dog food. I couldn’t find it so I asked an associate. They no longer carry my regular brand but a sales associate took the time to help me find the most similar kind by looking up and comparing ingredients. He also informed me that if I wanted the other brand they would special order it for me at no extra charge. This type of helpful, friendly customer service was greatly appreciated and will keep customers like myself coming back.

Pet Care

Derry Animal Hospital
28 Tsienneto Rd, DerryKind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. I have been with DAH for years with several different pets. Even after moving quite a distance from DAH I continue to drive the distance for the quality care and rapport they have with my pets.

Doire Distilling
1 1/2 E Broadway, DerrySugarshine Cocktail recipe below!Had a very nice experience when I visited last week. Doire has a quaint storefront with nice displays of all their products, as well as a nice tasting area. This distillery offers every type of distilled liquor out there: Gin, Whiskey (Rye+Bourbon), Tequilla, Vodka, Rum, Moonshine... all of it. They are not branded as such in some cases, but have all the flavors you would expect.I primarily drink gin and bourbon, and must say the Flush was one of the better gins I have had. Right on par with the Botanist. The bourbon lacked the oakiness you would expect in a bourbon, it needs to be aged much longer. As a side note, all the bottles below look the same, but the cards dealt on the front are the variety identifiers. A cool concept, but could cause confusion for those that are not aware... the flavor profiles outlined below:++Flush, citrus juniper--Kings, Lemon grass chamomile black pepper corn-Queens, Oris root and rose hips+Jack's, Cucumber mintThe flush was BY FAR the best they offer, the rest are ranked with + and - for best to worst.I also tried the moonshine (sugar shine) which I found pleasant as far as moonshine go. I have used it in a variety of the "Sex on the Beach" cocktail and dubbed it a "Sex in the Woods".My version of the recipe below - please let me know if you try it!!Sex in the Woods......2 parts Doire Sugarshine0.75 parts peach schnapps1.5 parts Orange Juice1.5 parts Cranberry Juice1 spoon of Chambord (optional)Server over ice, shake optional.

Appolo Vineyards
49 Lawrence Rd, DerryIf you’re looking to escape the hustle of the city and unwind in a peaceful spot with some great wine, this family-owned winery is a hidden gem I’d highly recommend. The place has a lovely yard with plenty of space to relax and soak in the sun.
They offer a great selection of wines—we did the 6-wine tasting for just $18, which was definitely a good deal. While they don’t have an extensive food menu, they do offer well-paired cheese boxes. I’d suggest eating before you arrive or planning to grab food afterward.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. They have two adorable dogs who may come by to say hello, adding a cozy, homely touch. The owner personally stopped by each table to chat, which made the experience feel even more special.
What I appreciated the most was our wine educator—she explained each wine, the tasting notes, the grape varieties, and the techniques used. It made the whole experience informative and fun.
Overall, a peaceful, charming place to spend an afternoon. Highly recommend!

The Greater Derry Humane Society, Inc.
11 Beaver Lake Rd, DerryI spent a few months looking for a dog to rescue. I was surprised how hard and frustrating it was. But then I came across The Derry humane society. Not only was the process smooth but the foster mom was spectacular. She absolutely loved the dog and worked hard to find the right home for him based on his personality. She matched us to our new dog and he fits into our lifestyle perfectly.
Every adoption agency is different but the Derry humane society took wonderful care of our dog. He was only $400 and came neutered, micro chipped, and had several hundred dollars in receipts for medical care.
My new favorite part of my day is when he comes back from his morning walk with his mommy. He jumps into the bed, onto my chest, and playfully attacks me. After breakfast he repeats the attack but then demands I get up and have my coffee with him.
We love him so much!! Thank you for taking the extra time in matching the dog to the new owners!!!
