“When the electronic lock in my wife’s store broke I called Bunchers Hardware asking them to recommend a locksmith . I have been shopping there for 25 + years. The women answering the phone, in a pleasant manner , to said “ we have one here and will have him call you .”. Ten minutes later Frank called me and said he would “be there by days end.” He spoke to my wife ,found out her hours ,and arrived after her last customer was seen. The lock was repaired ,and my wife was able to go home knowing the front door was secure. We cannot than Frank and Bunchers enough for quality and caring service

“As a new homeowner, I am not very handy at all. Was not sure even sure what to do with a snowblower I was given (does this thing even work? how do I turn it on?)From the very first call, this place went above and beyond. Debbie called me at least 5 times to coordinate pickup and drop off (due to my busy travel schedule)- she was super flexible, informative, and understanding of my needs- and she left so much important detail in her messages to me. For example, I had to suddenly go into the city on the scheduled drop off date, and she found a way to get my drop off scheduled for the next day so I could be there for it- and she also coordinated with the delivery tech to make sure he stopped to show me how to actually use the machine. She did this with minimal contact with me as I was in meetings all day.The tech that picked up and dropped off the snowblower gave me extremely detailed instructions on how to use the machine as was well as tips to take care of it and avoid future issues. Either Debbie told him I had no idea what I was doing, or he could just sense it from my questions- but he did a great job of giving me dumbed down instructions without being condescending or making me feel like an idiot.My experience from my first call to payment and receipt of my machine was exceptional and painless. I was listened to, prioritized, and treated with kindness and respect. I will be using them again for any equipment needs, and recommend you do too- especially if you are intimidated by machines/equipment/are not handy.”

“Costello's Ace Hardware is my go to spot. There was one located in very close proximity to my Fabrication / Machining / Repair / Detail - shop. 95% of the time they have what I'm looking for. I have gotten to know all the staff and they are always very friendly and accommodating. They also offer my company a business discount which is nice. And they stock a lot more things than you would imagine a hardware store would. I am also a custom builder by trade and they have all types of hardware that I use daily. Give them a try! You won't be disappointed.”

“Awesome option for tools and gadgets. Good prices and good deals even though recently they haven't come up with good deals and prices are rising. Some stuff you can't find because they are a bit limited many items are missing but they have a lot of options. The Member's Club is not what it used to be, deals are mostly on stuff people don't buy or need.”

He’s eager to help when I call with tough or stupid questions and some how always gets me the parts or the answers I need even with the lack of information I usually have. “I'm glad I used Google to find this location. My husband only want to use Benjamin Moore paint and this location has the paint and all the extras that you will need. I parked in the front but there is even more parking spaces in the back. The staff was friendly. The lady that helped me did everything from getting the paint, ringing me up and even brought the two 5 gallons of paint directly to the car and placed them inside ?. She lifted the gallons up effortlessly.
When I got home I thought I could do the same thing.
No!
My neighbors Ring camera probably recorded my struggle. ? I will let the contractor remove the remaining gallon from the car.”

Staff is excellent. Very helpful advising on types of paint for each project. You can walk in with a random nut or bolt and Walther knows exactly what you need to pair up with it. So if some say the pricing is a little higher than going to the “bigger” stores, the service and convenience is well worth it. Who has the extra hour or two to drive to a highway store, and then wander around with no one to help you, only to stand in a long checkout line? Village hardware is the gem of downtown Chatham
And if you bring your “friendly
well behaved” dog, the staff will give it a milkbone.

The senior guys are very good, the first floor guys are good, the second floors guys need to step it up (the second floor has been declining for years), and the guys out back are very good.
It can be expensive.”
