“I looked into Manhattan because it was too expensive, but although the room is in a corner on the first floor, there is noise when opening and closing the door, it is easy to move around the path, it is in a relatively safe location, and the bed is large and the room is spacious. The water pressure in the bathroom is so great that it is difficult to use the bathroom. great
The staff are also friendly.
Breakfast includes yogurt, muffins, donuts, croissants, and other breads, as well as apples, bananas, coffee, and orange juice. There are two tables inside and several terrace-type tables outside.”

“Great hotel in a quiet part of Manhattan, away from all the madness. The staff were really lovely throughout our stay! The rooms were clean, and it was great to have a microwave and a mini fridge for quick dinners/breakfast. The bathroom was really nice and had everything you need.

We had an issue with the ice machine being extremely loud outside of our room, but they moved us immediately without any issues to a better room away from the machine, and to a higher floor. We also had an issue where our tv wasn't working but they fixed it for us the next day. There is also laundry units downstairs and a small gym!

Would recommend it here for anyone wanting to visit manhattan and stay in a safer quieter area. Its within walking distance to Whole Foods, and Chipotle, and multiple subway stops & opposite the Staten Island Ferry!

The fire alarm went off two days in a row at 6am from the Kitchen downstairs making breakfast, and the fire department came and checked the floors. Thankfully we were awake, but not ideal!”

“Everything was fine!
The only thing unfortunately happened, that Marriott canceled the partnership with Sonder during our stay, ending up being „thrown“ out of the hotel itself but only a few hours before anyway leaving.
Marrriott and sonder should have buckled up and at least offer for those who were already in the hotel a good solution!

All in all, perfect Area to stay!”

“Latoya was welcoming and very helpful checking us in! The room was clean and accommodating. The location is a quick subway train away from Manhattan and tucked away in a quiet area. We were too tired to explore Jersey City after walking all day in the Big Apple, but would definitely stay here again!”

“The only thing is that they tested the fire alarm and scared me and my Mom half to death! They said when I got downstairs from the 6th floor using the stairs-that it was a test and it said that on the TV. However, it did not say “this is a test@ on the intercom in the room the alarm was going off on and the intercom in my room they said “please exit the building immediately, there is an emergency, use the stairwell, do not use the elevator” if the can program it to say that, can’t they program it to say “this is a test” or maybe call the rooms or notify folks that there will be a test alarm when they check them in and when!? The people downstairs when we got there, thought it was funny. Mind you, this is how I was woken up and I was a mess in my jammies, hair a mess and all. I was embarrassed! I always use Best Western, it’s not the fanciest, and be a little dated (this one is NICE) but it’s always CLEAN, BUG FREE, and people are usually very professional and friendly. Also, BREAKFAST SHOULD ALWAYS BE FREE-it doesn’t cost that much, you more than make up for it if you can say “All Best Western’s Nationwide offer Free Continental Breakfast”! That’s a selling point! I would have went elsewhere had I known! Thanks!”

“After living in Hoboken for many years, my fiancée and I stayed at the W before our recent move to Colorado. I was so blown away by the experience. We were upgraded to a beautifully renovated suite on the river with a great view of the NYC skyline. Upon learning why we were there, the front desk sent up a bottle of Prosecco and very nice note congratulating us on our move. Can’t recommend highly enough!”

“Excellent location in the southern part of Manhattan, much quieter at night than other areas such as Times Square, Soho or Chinatown. In a 5-minute walk you will be at the One World Trade Center and in 15 in the Statue of Liberty ferry area. Our room was large although the bathroom was quite small, and the bed was very comfortable. Quite friendly staff. The worst thing is, at key times the elevator takes a long time due to the influx of people it has.”

“We went here for a social event but did not stay. It is really a very beautiful hotel from what we saw: lobby, bathrooms, conference rooms, common areas. Staff was very helpful. There was a restaurant called Finch and a bar but we didn't use either.”

“Awesome stay and awesome staff.
This is my 6th stay in past 6 years and I enjoy everytime I come here. The only downside is that they’ve stopped serving morning breakfast.”

“The hotel has a privileged location, very close to the Oculus and One World. There are plenty of subway stations nearby, and we felt very safe even at night. The views from our room were absolutely beautiful. Highly recommended.”

“So I went to Newark, NJ for the first time for a conference at the Robert Treat Center. I booked TRYP hotel since it was 3 minutes walk to the venue. It’s also my first time ever staying in TRYP hotels.. it was okay, nothing spectacular but they had everything you needed in a hotel. On thing I would say is that it has big restroom which is awesome! I mean, I’m coming from NY and you can imagine the restrooms in hotels in NY.. so tiny.. plus you pay a lot to stay in hotels in NY city.

But the prices for TRYP were so affordable (I paid $300 for two night). The last time I stayed in a hotel in NY, I paid more than that for one night. Lol.

Note that TRYP doesn’t have complimentary breakfast but they have a Dutch restaurant in the hotel where you can order breakfast, lunch and dinner. I will attach photos of the menu and room.

Also check out is at noon not at 11am like other hotels. I even requested for late checkout because I had a meeting at noon and wanted to be comfortable, and they extended it to 1 for me. The receptionist and worker there (including those at the restaurant) are generally kind.

One thing I didn’t like was how the workers vacuum so early and they woke me up every single time.. and when they were cleaning the room close to me.. it was so loud and annoying at some point and I couldn’t sleep-in in the morning..

Overall, I recommend.”

“I had a wonderful stay at the Crowne Plaza Newark. The service was outstanding, with Gladys, Diana, and Molly all going above and beyond to ensure a great experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable , which was helpful for my stay that had an early morning trip out of EWR the next day . The staff’s friendliness truly stood out, and I would highly recommend staying here. Thank you for the excellent hospitality!”

“Huge thank you to Jane at the front desk! After a long day of travel, being welcomed by someone so friendly, professional, and genuinely kind made all the difference. She made check-in smooth, answered all of our questions, and set such a positive tone for our stay.
The hotel was comfortable and convenient for our quick overnight trip, but the exceptional hospitality truly stood out.”

“Excellent location and well priced. Our family of 4 stayed 3 nights over a long weekend. It’s a quick 10 min walk to the Path to WTC/NYC subways. Area felt safe even late at night walking back. Room was clean, linens and towels were new. Room is nicely updated. We had a room facing the front of the building and it was quiet. Staff was friendly. Would stay here again.”

“Stay here for my trip to NYC. Great location where is close to the bus terminal. Nice and clean room for your nights. If you pay a little more, you also can get NYC skyline view in your window. Recommended for travellers who are driving here.”

“Budget friendly and close to Manhattan (it's the first bus stop out of the Lincoln Tunnel). The bathrooms are shared, so bring shower shoes. Window AC units work great. This is optimal for solo travelers because it is a good value and close to where you want to be. All the locks are electronic combination doors, so keep your phone with you just in case you need to call or look up a message from mgmt. Might stay again under right circumstances.”

“We spent the night here for our anniversary, my wife loves the city views so this was nice. Location is amazing, in the heart of everything from restaurants to bars/lounges. Staff was really friendly. Just be warned the parking is NOT included in your stay, which is an additional $35. I gave the room a 3 star rating and that’s due to the views! The room had was the deluxe city view w/king bed. The room had some updated finishes but other things were not so much. The drapes were stained and the wall paper was peeling off the wall as well as scratches and dents on the window sills. These are minor things that should be addressed to ensure a better stay. In my opinion these are things you see in run down cheap motels, not an expensive hotel like the Sheraton.”

“The staff, everyone...top notch! The front desk, doorman, luggage coordinators....yes please.Even the adjacent Starbucks...I entered the place and she said, "hello freind". That might not mean much to you but in nasty rude world, kindness still touches the heart if many!I will be making this 9/11 area visit an annual one and this Marriott is my choice. Thank you again!”

“Check-in was a bit unorganized, as we had to enter through the lounge rather than the main doors. Once settled, everything improved. The rooms were very nice—clean, comfortable, and with great beds. Lorenzo restaurant and bar area were convenient, welcoming. Javier at the bar offered good service, even when busy making it an enjoyable place to relax.”

“This gentleman saved my life! My rental stopped working and he helped me out!

He works the breakfast, and when I asked for help he told his coworker, put a jacket on and help me start the car. Please give him a shoutout, he was the kindest human ??”

“The hotel is nice and clean. We ate dinner in the attached restaurant. Food was great. Our waiter, Mateo, was especially friendly and very helpful with advice for navigating public transit into NYC. The location made it easy to get into the city. It was a short ~$8 Uber ride to a bus stop where we could board a bus straight into the city and drops you off at the Port Authority near Times Square. It was less expensive than taking the train from the Path station in Hoboken. The only issues we observed were 1) you can’t stop water from coming out from under the shower door and spilling water onto the floor. Plus they don’t give you a towel/bath mat to put on the floor outside the shower. Be very careful stepping out of the shower to not slip on the water on the floor. 2) the hallway is extremely warm compared to the rest of the hotel. 3) They have coffee and coffee makers in the room. They only offer regular coffee for the maker. Being someone that can only drink decaf coffee it was a little disappointing. But, they do have regular and decaf coffee available in the lobby. All in all we would definitely stay here again.”

“An excellent hotel option if you have access to Fort Hamilton. It is relatively close to JFK Airport and offers a good home base for excursions into Manhattan or other parts of Brooklyn. It also has a commissary, PX and Gas Station.”

“I had a great time staying at the DoubleTree, I had read about the lifts taking a long time to come but that never happened to me when I was there.

The reception staff where very helpful and friendly and got our room cleaned when we asked them to.

Breakfast was kind of expensive but not more expensive than anywhere else in New York.”

“Rooms: The rooms are well designed studios, with a kitchen as well.
The TV was not directly in front of the bed headboard in my room. Else, great room!

Walkability: Nope!

Food and drinks: No food and drinks and no room service.
The bar and restaurant opens on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights these days.
It is best suited for extended stays.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Fairfield Hotel & Suites

From the moment we arrived at the DoubleTree by Hilton Fairfield Hotel & Suites, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff greeted us and immediately made us feel at home.

The hotel’s location is ideal, just off Route 46 with easy access to I-80 and convenient to both Newark and New York City. Whether traveling for business or leisure, its proximity to major transit routes makes it a great base for exploring the area.

Our room was immaculately clean, spacious, and well-appointed, with comfortable bedding, large HDTV, and reliable free Wi-Fi. The thoughtful layout provided a comfortable workspace and plenty of room to relax. Housekeeping maintained the room to an exceptional standard throughout our stay.

We enjoyed taking advantage of the hotel’s amenities — the indoor pool and well-equipped fitness center were terrific, and the on-site restaurant and bar offered delicious meals and attentive service. Everything was delivered with professionalism and genuine hospitality.

Perhaps most notable was the high level of service from every team member we encountered. Check-in and check-out were seamless, and questions or requests were handled promptly and courteously.

Overall, our stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Fairfield Hotel & Suites was outstanding. Whether you’re in the area for work or leisure, this hotel provides comfort, convenience, and warm hospitality that truly exceeds expectations. We would gladly stay here again!”
