They had many cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, and birds while we were there for rehoming. If you are looking for a new pet- would highly recommend! We will keep supporting them w our purchases.

47 E Mountain Rd, HillsboroughI can’t say enough great things about Pioneer Pet Care. It’s run by a husband-and-wife team, Tara and Jack, and you can truly feel how much they care about the dogs and love what they do.
I was in a tough spot—I wasn’t in a position to bring my dog with me and had a two-week vacation planned. I had already booked somewhere else, but after speaking with Tara on the phone, I was blown away by how kind and genuine she was. Then I met both her and Jack in person, and that sealed it for me. I canceled my original reservation without hesitation because this felt so much more personal, comfortable, and right for my dog.
What really stood out to me is their experience with “reactive” dogs. That’s not something every place can confidently handle, and it gave me so much peace of mind knowing my dog would be understood and cared for properly. They also clearly explained exactly how to handle drop-off on the day, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free.
My furbaby also got groomed during his stay and looked absolutely fabulous at the end of the two weeks! On top of that, I checked in on him twice while I was away, and they were always responsive and happy to update me on how he was doing—total peace of mind.
I’ve read that some people say Tara can come across as rude, but I completely disagree! She isn’t rude or condescending—she’s just firm and direct, which makes perfect sense given that she’s running a business. This isn’t a typical 9–5 job either; it’s truly her and her husband’s lifestyle, and that level of structure and seriousness is exactly what makes them so good at what they do.
If you’re looking for a place where your dog will be safe, understood, and genuinely cared for, this is it. I wouldn’t trust anyone else. Thank you so very much! ? ?

Belle Mead Animal Hospital
872 US-206, HillsboroughI got my puppy, and this veterinary hospital seemed like a good place to go. I'm happy that I was correct! They have been with me and my sweet boy through everything and he loves going to the vet. Great staff, informative, and gentle. They take care of me and him, and that's all I could ask for. They have made time to address issues and see him even on short notice. They're amazing!

132 Hillsborough Rd, HillsboroughThey have great natural lighting in every room. Some more than others which is why we try to get the Sun Room when we board. The staff are always kind and handle the cats with respect. They have a strick cleaning process to try and avoid bad orders but there's only so much you can do when you board any amount of animals anywhere ?. On long trips they manage every so often to take pictures & send them to us with a short note to keep our minds at ease. I'll keep boarding here until the day they move. Which I hope they don't ?

He was very professional and knowledgable in his assessment and provided the most cost conscious options, which I really appreciated. He made me feel very comfortable and worked hard to make sure my pet was safe again. I actually almost went with a different company, but I’m truly happy I was fortunate enough to have Garrett on my property as he was very nice to work with. He is very much committed to not only doing his job, but doing it well.

Flounder Brewing Co., LLC
2 Clerico Ln Building 4, HillsboroughWent to Flounder Brewing Co. on April 17 for a live show and was genuinely blown away. The venue strikes a perfect balance between intimate and energetic. You are close enough to really feel the music, but there’s still plenty of room to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
The staff were friendly and efficient, and the whole place had a welcoming, unpretentious vibe that made it easy to settle in. Of course, the beer lineup didn’t disappoint either, solid variety and quality across the board.
If you’re looking for a spot that combines great live music with excellent craft beer, this is absolutely worth a visit. I’ll definitely be coming back

340 S Branch Rd #434, HillsboroughLove Bella Pizza. Nice little spot for take out or dine in!! Owner and staff are friendly and courteous. Food is always on point!! Just had the sausage and peppers hot sub - delicious. Pizza is good too. We use Bella for our tournaments and everyone always asks where did we get it bc it’s so good and we proudly say BELLA PIZZA HILLSBOROUGH.
Side note: AKH does a lot for the community and all around great guy.

In California, I was spoiled by incredible taquerias, fresh ingredients, and bold, authentic flavors. So I walked in with high expectations -- and left absolutely blown away. From the very first bite, I knew I'd found something special. The tacos were spot-on -- perfectly seasoned, tender meats, fresh salsas, and tortillas that tasted just like the ones I've had from family-run spots in L.A.-- pure magic. But it wasn't just the tacos. The rice and beans were flavorful. Everything tasted homemade, like someone's abuela was back there cooking with love and pride. It's rare to find that true California-level quality outside of the West Coast, but this place nails it. Friendly service, generous portions, and prices that don't make you wince? Total win. If you've ever missed that real Mexican flavor you find in California -- or just want to experience it for the first time -- run, don't walk.
