Hes usually busy, which is understandable with the great service they provide, so some times I have to leave my vehicle there from 1 to 2 days, but the prices are better than other shops and the service is done correctly everytime ive brought my cars in for service here. The owner also works on cars and hes one of the nicest and friendly people you can meet! One time my car was acting up shutting off on me and I drove up, the owner popped my hood and plugged something in that must've came loose frm driving, and told me its good! Get out of here! “I just read a review from somebody calling Dave Clattenburg a racist.
A little background on me. I'm a brown skinned, West Indian immigrant to this country. My parents moved us to Newark back in 1995, and my dad's, and eventually my go-to mechanic was always Dave's Auto. His shop serviced and repaired my dad's 1985 Honda Accord, 1989 Olds Cutlass Calais, and both 1997 and 2000 Mercury Sable. I even got to know Dave and Bruce of Essex Motors during my short stint working at Essex. Dave even worked on the first car I ever owned, a 92 Pontiac Sunbird.
This man is in no way, shape, or form, a racist. He's super friendly, extremely helpful, and he was even proud of me when he found out I was studying to be a technician at BMW. I don't appreciate anyone coming on here and gaslighting people just to make a business look bad, especially when it comes to false accusations of racism, as I, a minority, take offense to that.
So happy to see Dave's Auto is still in business after all these years, and I got nothing but love for him, his family, and hopefully, any Doberman he may have now to protect the facility (I even miss the dogs, lol).”
