“A complete breath of fresh air compared to big box stores. Picked up a snowblower and not only was it waiting for me to pick up when I got there, but I got a winter's worth of tips and tricks on how to use it and take care of it. Total throwback to old school hardware stores where experts are the expectations.”

“Super thankful for the knowledgeable staff at Warsaw (Matt or Max? forgive me for misremembering) who went above and beyond to repair my Aunt’s lamp — not only did they rewire it, but they also found broken pieces of it in the lamp body when they were working on it and took the initiative to glue them back together and restore the top of the lamp to be as good as new!”

I went there to get keys made but wasn't coming back in the area for a week so I wa Ted confirmation if the keys didn't work was ok to come back a week later with them ? The answer was a resounding YES NOT A ISSUE !!! Well the keys were cut perfectly (5) in total . Great place and if in the area of Columbia University I suggest 100 % use them for your hardware needs !”

“A long time customer because of the level and quality of customer care I always received on everything that is Benjamin Moore paint. Unbeknownst to me, Red Star is also a certified Hunter Douglass provider. Ryan was instrumental in guiding us on their service offering and even came to our house to discuss our vision for the space. He in turn put us in the hands of Vic who is a certified window treatment installer and executes his craft seriously and with care. I cannot diminish how impressed we were with the service, installation, quality of product and the customer after care. I recommend Red Star, this team in particular, and all of their offerings.”

The staff worked tirelessly at scraping off the old paint, learning the lock's mechanisms, getting it working and trying all sorts of keys. They even grinder off a bit of a key to make sure it worked. Incredible service. So patient and thoughtful. I never thought anyone would go so above and beyond for this! Loyal customer here!”

“Today (11/05/25) was the second time I had ever entered the store to buy a toilet pipe/tube for a bidet. The first visit was in 2024, and now that I have a new apartment, I went back. On both occasions, I had workers assist me and even provide me advice on connecting/ making sure the small job (big in my mind - I'm not a plumber) went stress-free. Thank you to the workers for always being friendly!”
